Pardon my ignorance :embarrassed:, but whats G case and H case? I've never heard those terms before. :dopey:

Hello, Tiger!

Oh! Ooops, rat, rat . . .
Welcome to our little band of crazy addicted collectors, Cargo . . . just don't let it take over your life. Unless you don't have one - in which case it will be your life. :dopey:
As for the question about letters:
The codes stand for year of manufacture - started in 2008. So A = 2008, B = 2009, etc. H = 2015 and J (the latest) is, of course 2016.
The numbers following the letter stands for the week of the year it was manufactured. So J27 would be the 27th week of 2016.
If you find a J27 model in your hands right now you may have been time travelling.:sly:

This also mean those some models with those early alphabetical letters are now harder to find. When we get to Z those 'A' models will be just that little bit more rare.

So, just got back from Meijers after needing to make a food run and was able to scrape up a few extra dollars for this find. At .99, I couldn't pass them up. There was also a Nissan 370z which I wanted but didn't have enough money for it. I hid it on the bottom peg all the way in back of a row of Racing Champion. :mischievous: Hopefully it will still be there in a few days when I get my SSI check. Anyways, pretty happy with what I did find and here they are. (Clickable thumbnails for larger images)

I went looking for the Castrol Escort, but I found this one at Asda. I normally think Gulf is a bit played out, but this one really caught my eye.

@Sonygamer455 - I know you have one because you showed it in here before. ;)
But I have 2 - one in the card (that's the *koff 'collectors item') and the other to play with.
I have 2 as well. The first one was one I found in the wild back in like 2011, which sadly is the only one I have ever saw in stores. My other one was an Ebay purchase I got fairly recently that I just got through customizing not too long ago. (Check the customizing thread ;))

I really like that model and quite often carry it around with me; it has traveled many miles with me and also several yards on various surfaces.
It's a huge favorite for me. When I go on vacation, I usually take it with me since it is fun to play with it.

It just happened to park on my art desk a few weeks ago since I came home straight from work and sat there and emptied my pockets.
I can tell because if it was intended to be apart of the photo, it would have been much more noticeable I would think.

TLV or Kyosho needs to do the MR2 right. CM's version's amusing, but we need stock supercharged Mister 2. :indiff:

On a positive note, I was FINALLY able to find my big-3.

Went thru most of the pegs & dump bin during my lunch break at the local Walmart. Last 180SX & last Integra. They had two Excorts.

Almost gave up before finally finding the 180SX(bottom of the very last corner of the dump bin I checked :embarrassed:).

Just for you a6. 👍 That's all your getting though. I've re-sealed the box, the cars are never coming out again.

The Stratos is nice, but I love the Mini. :embarrassed:

I really like your Indy car thingy btw. 👍
I was just about to ask if Jarrod forgot about these cars for his Desert Island post. But I looked at his list again, and yeah, it'd be hard to argue with his selections. Personally, I'd have probably squeezed in at least two cars from this set. Maybe three. :dopey:

Also, I was going through some old posts looking for image I posted looong time ago(couldn't find it :(), and saw this guy At 1ness... His avatar scared me at first, but after the initial shock, it was pretty funny. You need to drop most posts around here, @Nessy

Ah, that's why I was getting alert's for such a old post! Actually I did consider them and if I could have gotten away with including all six as a set and still being able to post another nine cars on top of that, then I definitely would have.

And because I resealed that set after taking those pics. Bringing up that post again reminded me just how nice the RX-7 looks out of the box. (I mean they're all super nice but that one in particular...:embarrassed:)

Geez, I'd totally forgotten about Nessy's name change.

I like the S2K, too. Sweet set. 👍
I have to admit, Hot Wheels deserves my praise for this model:
I get the feeling I left it on the pegs. It'd be nice if I run into it again. Beautiful detailing. 👍

2016 Then and Now Aston Martin DBS

Funny story, las year they also made another Then and Now DBS in a red. Talk about being original.

Damn, the DBS mainline is pretty boring to look at. Here's something more fresh:

It's got that snuff look and an interesting form that leads to the wing. t's hard to make out anything due its clear body, but let me get a custom out some time and we'll see how cool this design really looks.

You may have noticed a couple of paint chips on the trailer?...

Between that and the warped spare wheel on the Ramcharger, GL really need to work on their quality control. 👎

With the price hike + poor quality control, my GreenLight collecting has slowed down, almost completely stopped.

Johnny Lightning, I rarely look at it at $6. Today I saw Nova Zingers. I got it off the peg, saw the price tag, I put it back.

Auto World, my stores are starting to stock them. With inventory from couple years ago. :dopey:

M2's doing okay. Outside their Auto-Haulers, which are ugly and lame in my neck of the woods. They used to be all desirable! M2 needs to ship more cool stuff to retailers. They shift so much towards "hobby exclusive".

This has been my local hot wheel shopping review.

Oh hey it's that sorry excuse of a station wagon that cannot come close to touching the Datsun 510 Wagon's heels, how have you been? :sly:

I'm kidding, I'm still kidding! Please don't burn me to death, I can go without having major injuries all over my body from all the ensuing violence behind such a daring statement...

Joke and minor paint chips aside, that one deserves a good treatment, there's nothing fundamentally wrong with that casting. Yes, GL's quality issues are about as concerning as AUTOart's, but at least they still got this one right. In my country, getting a Greenlight model is a far more difficult task; other than hobby shops, there is nobody in my area who sells these cars. Heck, even in Porto it's difficult to find them lying around! For M2s, Auto Worlds and new Johnny Lightnings, it's the same story with a slightly different book cover; in fact, I think it's downright impossible to find them without having to go to areas further away from Porto...

I vote that this becomes a regular segment from now on. You can call it, "Shopping with Shinji". J/k :dopey:

Yeah, thankfully there wasn't any issues with the Family Truckster like there were with the other two. Would have been beyond annoyed if it had paint chips on it like the Airflyte trailer has. :indiff: That casting too really exceeded my expectations, GL did a great job with it. It's pretty damn perfect.

M2's I've only ever seen in a couple of places. GL's and the others you mentioned are completely non existent around these parts. :(

I can't believe you brought this up, because I had such feature prepared for my blog. I hope you guys check this out. Depending on the feedback I receive from the members of this thread, I might make this into a series. I put lot of work into it.
This is the M2 I was telling you about earlier:

Here's the weird part: My local Walmart where I got it from, they have NEVER carried this set. I guess somebody bought it at another store & returned it at my store. Thanks whoever you are. I've been interested in it.
