Just went back to eBay to browse for some HW Classic Redlines and found this to go with my '70 GTO collection.

After all of my recent purchases this year I still haven't seen the black bandit GTR, my stores are on the civic, amc, volt, and Ram.

I had lot of luck with Black Bandit cars locally(Toys R Us) in the past, but I haven't seen the GT-R either. Mine came from eBay.

Edit: If anybody want to see, I posted pics of the Nurburgring camo'd GT-R(Tomica).

Agreed on both counts. 👍 On Kakashi's Desert Island list, yet another unique list. Sweet Kyoshos, but I also adore that HW RX-3.

Is it weird that I keep trying to find an image in the livery of the GT-R? It looks like one of those Magic Eye puzzles!

Some fantastic advice at the end as well. 👍

Dunno what a Magic Puzzle is, but you're probably right. It's so... hypnotizing, for the lack of a better. I personally like to think that it's some sort of elaborate QR code that could be read and sent the user to TLV's webpage, or something along those lines!

Random Phillipinnes flag is random, haha... But it's a cool touch, mind you, goes well with the uniqueness of Kakashi's list.

I predicted the Riley making it, as well as some variety of Lamborghini. In fact, if we're talking about Dream Alliance members, I think Takuma has beaten Rob by a mile and a half, considering how many of his cars made it into the list... Am I right, Kakashi? :sly:

And thanks for the advice, it's a good way of summarizing the reasoning one should have behind handpicking what you want to buy and what you want to keep. Pick what you like, but ensure that there is some future potential value to be had in case you want to keep it. I like that. 👍

In the water. :P

Well... I...

Darn it, my point has been shot down! Can't argue with that... :irked:

Ah, I think you are right!

Come on Shinji-san, I shouldn't be the guy who has the better knowledge of kei-sha between us two... The only kei I have sat in was a Suzuki Cappuccino!

It's a bar/scan code. If you scan it, it will say $22 + shipping. :dopey:

You never saw what I did on your cover, did you? I think yours was the first "Desert Island" cover photo I altered. :D

I've ridden in many, but they were all old from 70's & 80's. Good thing I was really young, because I wouldn't fit in one today!
For the first time(probably last time), I collected the RAI'S police/patrol cars in 1/64 last year. I think there were just five? You can see all of them I posted here if it interests you(Mazda RX-8's my favorite). I recommend checking out the Fairlady post, because I was able to do a side-by-side comparison with the Kyosho version, which RAI'S is based on. Kyosho came from @AOS- 👍

Edit: Just found this pic.

Well, it could have said that I could buy without the additional fees and with a 25% discount on a first purchase, but what do I know about QR codes, right?

Huh, is that so? Now I have to go back and check, because I sure as heck didn't notice that the first time around...

So it was mostly Honda S600s and Mitsubishi Minica Dangans? You're such an old man, Shinji-san... :dopey: But I could fit in a kei car myself... Ok, so I only sat inside a convertible kei, but it's worth giving that a shot, no?

It was subtle. :D

Those Dangans were cool, but no, I don't think they had them yet. :dopey:

Only one I remember right off the top of my head was old(even at the time) Suzuki Cervo. Neat little car!

Aside from the ride height (dune buggy is spot on ). That looks good, better than I imagined. First release colour too, nice score! 👍
Saturn. Pretty cool. :P

You clicked on the link beneath it, didn't you?

I am thinking of getting the white one, but that color is soooooo generic to Tomica.

Plus, hadn't I painted the front air intakes, the S660 would have looked mediocre.

Alright, my third package from pallaszg came today. Strap yourselves in, this is a longer one.

All the models are by Kyosho this time. And let's start off with the most...

250GTOf.png

disappointing Kyosho I own. I'm no Kyosho expert, but I feel like this is an older model. The wheels are too big, they wobble around and don't stand up straight, the details are a bit ham-fisted and there aren't any details on the base at all. Boo.

Onwards with the second most disappointing Kyosho I own.

Testarossar.png

This must have been the same series. :P

Alright, phew. I need a palette cleanser after that.

BMW6f.png

Yeeeah, now that's what I'm talking about. Awesome casting and that paint is perfect for the car. Not all good news sadly. The side mirrors seem to have been glued on by super glue. A rather large dose of super glue and aside from looking ugly by itself it also caused some clouding on the windscreen and side window. Not cool, but I can't complain too much as these weren't listed as mint and the picture wasn't that good.
I don't think the super glue detracts from the overall appeal of the model and I still like it.

The good news is that's it for unexpected surprises. All smooth sailing from here on out.

Alfa 155 V6 Ti

Very nice. 👍

Fiat 124

Fiat124f.png

The tampos on this one are maybe not exactly up to standard, but it's not that bad when looking at it in person.

Fiat Dino Spider

FiatDinof.png

It's a little more bug-eyed than the real thing, but I love this one.

My favorites of the bunch are next.

Alfa Romeo 1600 Junior Z

AR1600Junior2f.png

This thing is so cool with its covered headlights and that awesome shape that I can look past the strangely large wheels. Great display piece next to the TLV 1600/1300.

Lancia Fulvia HF

Fulviaf.png

This lot was very Italian, but can you blame me? All these timeless designs.

Those are all the cars that I bought from pallaszg, but in the couple of weeks that I've been buying stuff from him we've talked a bit. He's a really nice guy with a huge collection of around 12000 cars from 1/55 to 1/66 scale. Says he has one of the largest Lone Star collections with over 400 models (including 14 Vauxhall Firenza's. Look these up on Ebay, they fetch a very good price). Though he did say that all the models aren't mint, since that drives the price up massively.
He also has the complete Schuco 1/66 series. The only old die-cast series' he's looking to complete are Siku V series, Buby and Aguti. @Cano you'd probably get along with this guy. :P
I'm taking this guy for his word, but it seems believable considering that every month he sells off around 120 cars on eBay. And that's all just excess color/type variations he has.

Anyway, since he's a nice guy he also sent me a gift.

EDIT: Pictures aren't sure if they wanna load or not. :irked: They load fine when I click on edit.
EDIT2: Reuploaded the pictures to GTP.

Looks GTP is acting up again with the pictures, guess something broke in the uploading machine... Those first two Kyoshos do look far too cheap to be Kyoshos, they are definitely not the brand's finest works. Isn't that green car in the last pic a Lamborghini concept? I remember seeing it somewhere, but my memory is failing when it comes to models...

Not entirely sure if they work on a screen but they look like this. Apparently there's a 3-D image in there, somewhere.

Well, it says that the puzzles work better in the analogic manner (i.e. paper sheet mothereffers  ), but I can see the puzzle just fine. As for the 3-D solution? I just clicked the solution link to see it, just like Shinji-san. Lazy bums, hooray!

It was subtle. :D

Quite, it took me a brief minute to notice it. But when I did, I laughed. You really take the connections between my GTP username and the inspiration behind it, don't you? If anything, you're the real "Muscleman"...👍

Those Dangans were cool, but no, I don't think they had them yet. :dopey:

Yes, the Dangan is a '80s Kei, not quite in the same timeline as the ones you say. I sort of messed that reference up, but it's nice to see that you still like them. Personally, they would make for a nice TLV model; look at that "tri-tip" exhaust!

The Cervo, huh? Could it be this Cervo, by any chance?

I received a case of Grachan Bosozoku earlier this week. I opened one today:

Nissan Leopard(F30)

View attachment 533411 View attachment 533412

I was afraid that they were going to have plastic bodies. They are diecast & super high quality. Very pleased with it, at least with the first one.

Hey, I didn't know that Tomica still had another Super Silhouette model planned for the TLV range! Those sly rascals, hiding a car within another brand... :dopey:

I kid, of course. But hey, it is inspired in the SS racing cars after all, and it looks great. If these cars are made with high-quality diecast bodies, then I'd say Grachan did a good job with them. Very nice. 👍

I heard stories about fake Kyoshos doing the rounds, can the genuine ones seriously be that off?

I've done some looking around and I believe the GTO (and no doubt the Testarossa as well) is actually a DyDo casting (pictures on the 'net look just like mine). Yet it's definitely branded as Kyosho and I'm certain it's not a fake by the seller, since I had to assemble the car and the parts were still in a sealed plastic bag.
Kyosho and DyDo must have had a deal where they produced a bunch of these cars and then sold them under both brands.

Oh and the Lamborghini concept car is a Bravo.

Edit:
Now I seem to remember many people listing DyDo cars as DyDo/Kyosho. I can't find any details, but DyDo might just be a brand owned by Kyosho or alternatively they're separate companies that at some point produced and sold the same models via some sort of cooperation deal.

Edit2:
Or maybe it's what AOS said down there

VVVVV

Yes, I think Kyosho bought DyDo's castings originially, and later started making their own. Those two Ferrari Kyoshos are therefore legitimate. They're just one of the first Ferraris (2005 to be exact), and yes they are hella bad.

The first minicar series of Lamborghini which released in 2004 weren't as bad as these funny enough.

It sucks that Kyosho didn't do this right the first time. Sorry man.

I only saw Dangan in ad inside Japanese magazine, after having moved to U.S.(probably '88, '89-ish). Cool looking little car. I don't recall seeing the exhaust, but if TLV was to release another kei-car, I think I'd rather see Cervo.
The Cervo, huh? Could it be this Cervo, by any chance?

I was surprised by the quality. I think Aoshima is a unknown to most collectors outside Japan, so props to them. Great job.
I'll display them next to models that I want to look extra good. :P
lmao 👍
I wish they'd do this right: Red, maybe some black & real riders. It could be badass.
I've been wanting that one. Timing is never quite right!

There are literally zero Real riders wheels that go with modern cars.

EDIT: Ah, the BBSs. Yeah, not gonna happen, not an Indy car.

I think Miata casting would pull it off? Won't know for sure until you physically try it, but I think it has that boy-racer style to it. How about the new wheels from Japan Historics? Would any of those work?

Is that a topless S2000?

fuuuuu, I do need that.

You may need this one too:

I also think Kyosho, still being fresh to the game at the time, was in the process of finding work arounds to the Hot Wheels Ferrari licensing, and perhaps purchasing rights to DyDo was a cheaper thing to do to fill the quota on that batch's roster.
