So I like Toyota Carinas a lot.

Toyota Carina by Tomica Limited Vintage

However, I discovered two Carinas today from the Aoshima Grachan box(case of 12 cars), and OMG, I like these even more:

I thought my favorite was going to be the Kenmeris(vintage Nissan Skylines), but nooo..... these two are my latest favs. :D Here's a bonus pic of the bosozoku Kenmeri, complete with the slanted headlamps:

Yeah, I was going to say that it's a good thing that they didn't make Grachan Carina's in beige. Otherwise you'd have buy another four of them. :dopey:
I don't think they have the required ground clearance to climb aboard the transporter trailer. :P

That Tahoe casting's always looked promising, but I never ordered one, because of those headlights. If they had the normal lights...... I take that back, I think I do have one. I just never uncarded it, threw it in storage box. :dopey:

This is the listing I bought(love TTP for saving this stuff).

You could always put then in front of your Tomicarama police box and make it look like some Bozozuku criminals were surrounding the cops, or something along those lines... :P

But that aside, lovely Carinas, all of them. The Grachan cars have a nice choice of rims, especially the black one. What sort of rims are those, if you don't mind me asking? Can't ascertain their type from your only picture...

That's the base model grille, which was primarily found on the police package. They didn't happen to release a police casting first and then convert it to civilian, did they?

Like the original "Precinct 13". I love it.

I just posted it on my blog last night.

I love these deep dish rims. When I preordered the whole case, initially, the plan was to keep just the cars I liked & sell the rest off on eBay. After seeing the uniqueness of these wheels, I've decided to hang onto all of the cars, if just for the wheels. They may prove useful in my upcoming wheel-swap projects.

👍

I recognized them as the base/fleet vehicle front end, but you may be onto something. If they first did a police cruiser, or knowing JL, delivery truck, phone company truck or something, that would explain the sealed beam headlights treatment. :D

Precinct 13? Is that some Japanese movie I do not know of?

Well, they are some sort of deep dish rims, that much I can ascertain. And they look really good, all things considered. Guess in the end, purchasing an entire box of Grachan models came in handy for you, huh? Now you can use custom rims for your own personal custom cars! Customception! :sly:

Which one's your fav?

I haven't really had the opportunity to look at them in detail yet. I picked them up while I was headed to my daughters softball practice. But at a glance, it's hands down the M3 GTR and the Z4 M. Both look pretty well done. I just wish the M3's spoiler wasn't plastic. I'm really not impressed by the K1300 R. It doesn't stand out at all for being the oddball of the set. It needed some pop, and it's just a black recoulor.

John Carpenter. I like it.

I've been planning this for years. It will be ready any day now, give or take couple years.
They look like Hayashi wheels.
How do you know this?👍 It looks legit!

I looked at it on eBay just now. Orange M3 & Z4 do look good. Yeah, plastic spoilers blow.

Oh, it's an American movie, I stand corrected. Still, it sounds like it's an interesting movie, if you like it...

So the world may see an "a6 Custom" project one day? Well, you're certainly not short on taste and talent, you just need some polishing on both accounts. :sly:

It's a film about some kind of mysterious gang trapping the police inside precinct building that's closing down for good. No people nearby, phones are dead & nobody's coming to help.

They did a remake few years ago, which was pretty good.

I also bough these. They rule. And yes, I think the Carinas were my favorites of the bunch. I wish Aoshima would make these with crazy exhaust tips, they would rule even more.
They really hit the spot, don't they? Love these unique castings that strays from the norm(or typical), especially when they hit such reasonable price point and deliver! :)

Yes, pretty good all in all. I already had one, it was a Mazda RX3 that a friend brought me from the LA HWs convention for like 8 bucks. In-your-face fender flares and all the stuff 👍

Brilliant idea but with the amount of dioramas @a6m5 now has at his disposal, he can step it up another level. How about a full stop motion chase like this, with one of the grachan Carina's as the bad guy car?

You totally have to do something like this Shinji. :dopey:

I'm a fan of hotwheels errors and noticed I had a 2012 hotwheels Road Racer James Garner Copo Corvette is in the wrong packaging and incorrectly labeled as a Ford GT 40? Anyone see one of these with an error? I've attached a photo of what car I'm talking about and I'll update with an actual photo tomorrow.
