Just arrived in Japan. I visited a store nearby the hotel I'm staying:

And look!

Japan Historics!

I've very fond memories of the Siku I collected between '95 and '97/98. I really wish I'd kep all of my cars and not passed them on to family. Siku's leanings towards home market cars such as the Opel Astra and Omega wagons and the E38 7-series really appealed to me.

Japan Historics!
lmao
So that's where all of my Japan historics went.
lol

One finger salute to Mattel for screwing the home market. Unlike those Canadian HW Racing cars, at least we should be getting these eventually...
Don't tease me like that. :P
He tried getting their attention. He got response from one of the drivers on Twitter, but as they advertise right on their twitter account, Tomytec was quiet. :D

Saw those on AmiAmi yesterday, after I paid my invoice. Look great but $30+? No thanks.

Apologies Jason.

Here's the tweet a6 is talking is about. It was after Michael Caruso tested the GT3 at Fuji last year. I retweeted him and asked TomyTec if the GT3 was something we might see in the future.

Never got a response but no news, is good news...

Right? :dopey:

So Mattel screws up another one with large rear wheels. :grumpy:

Well that's no good, Mattel... It would be justifiable if you had no good examples overseas for investigation, but Japan has one! And it has even wheel size distribution to boot, so you lose points on that one alone... It's a shame, because minus the lack of logos the rest of the casting looks decent. And it has a Gran Turismo banner, which may not be accurate regarding the car's real-life design but at least lends it some variety.

Can we at least expect a decent color variety? I already fear that the exact same will happen with the LM55 casting... :nervous:

I went looking for Japan Historics today. Guys, please don't be jealous, but here is my haul:

This is the type of track I've been looking for. My nephews been bored of the stunt type tracks, but we all like racing these cars & trash talking in-between. This is PERFECT. :P P.S. It's actually $19.99. Super cheap at Target.

DSC_0053.JPG

Picked up three "track" cars(left) to add to our racing fleet. On the right is for moi. I passed on the blue Cruise Bruiser before(have the orange one), but after I saw one of my favorite customizer do the rusted out look on one, I decided I should get it.

Edit: Just noticed this in my email box.

Maybe that's why we can't find it yet. :dopey:

Price is kind of out there, but considering the TLV Super Silhouettes price tag, it's not bat $#!* crazy or anything like that. I already have the NSX for next month, and I read that this GT-R was the series winner, so I decided to go for it. If I don't like it, I've been very successful at recovering at least 100% of costs by the way of eBay. :dopey:

I don't know why I'm surprised. On the bright side, it seem okay in the pic? If I see one in stores(lol), I'd buy it. I don't think I like the car or the casting enough to buy one online. Having said that, TLV version is fantastic.

GTPlanet re-tweeted my blogpost for me, which was fantastic. :embarrassed::tup:

I also went Target/Walmart.
No wonder the Hurst Olds is selling out, its better looking than the others and it has a metal base.

Picked up the non Camaro drag car, blue Camaro concept, and black DB5 from Walmart.

Why do you need those when you've already got six perfectly good cars you and your nephews could use?

J/k :P

Joking aside I actually really like the four lane track, looks like it would be real good fun to use. Nice scores. 👍

Okay you've stumped me there. Definitely not absurd pricing when you put it like. Classic Calsonic livery, can't go wrong with that. 👍

Cashier at Target store see the set & go "Oh, someone's gonna be very happy today." I didn't have the heart to tell her that I'm probably more pumped up about it than my nephews. :dopey:

I passed on all of them. :yuck: Hurst is nice, but I already have the Hot Ones which I like better. *shrug*

Dat mad front camber on the S-FR tho... It hasn't even been sold as a production car and tuner houses are already getting their hands on it. :P

The Impreza is alright, but the rims aren't, they're just a one-piece casting with no holes where they should be. The 964 Porsche is pretty sweet, what brand made that one?

I want the STi.
I only bought the realistic ones.
Actually, I could never remember the name of it, but that VW is nice. Still scratching my head how they uglified the Toyota truck here, also on Cool Classics. Horrid.

The Porsche is the RUF Slantnose from a UCC promo.

What, you never heard of decaff, silly Shinji? :P
Decaf is criminal in my book. That feeling when you buy, or are served decaf by mistake..... *looks around for baseball bat*
I kid, I kid. Either way, sweet Kenmeri, the "shaved look" rear looks very cool. 👍 Still prefer the Leopards, though.
Leopard, along with Carina certainly were the unexpected surprises from the set. 👍

Matte, matte Shinji-san! *waves hands around in an attempt to cool a6 down* We should be understanding the needs of those who drink decaf coffee. Like yours truly, for example; my nerve system is rather sensitive and can't really take even more energy, especially caffeine energy... Please put down the bat, someone could get hurt from that.

Quite, I guess even elegant cars like the Leo and the Cari can make for good rebel cars...

Speaking of elegant JDM cars, I don't think anyone has shared pictures of Tomica Limited Vintage's finished Nissan President casting, have we? Either way, I can do that;

Now I can see why you wanted a scale model of this car so badly, Shinji-san. It looks great, a very classy design for sure. Apparently, this version was the car used by Japan's Prime Minister, is it not? That's what I gathered from the website description...

There's also a cop version for your inner policeman;

It's a for-hire version from Nihon Kotsu--note their logo on the door. TLV has done some of their taxis in the past.

Oh, it's a taxi President? That's neat, I was clearly not seeing the right picture on that one. I did see the logo, but I don't know much about Nihon Kotsu, so I couldn't make the connection right away...
Thanks for clarifying either way, much appreciated. 👍

Boy will Shinji-san drool when he sees those two (plus the two I shared)... :dopey:

Not sure about the full black version, though; I think the two-tone aspect of the Nihon Kotsu President suits the car a tad bit better, especially with that white roof. But then again, it's all a matter of personal preference, right?

Dat gold President though... All I can say is "wow", because boy that car wowes me with such a choice of color... Holy hell.
