"Nismo 1/64 event special models" according to them. No idea which company was commissioned to make these though.

Kyosho maybe?

Hmm, the packaging is exactly the same as the packaging for the 1/43 GT-R LMP-1 I got through my work that as far as I know was the only way it was available. Wonder if I can get a hold of them.

Edit: Now that I look at the photos again, the first image shows OEM Nissan part number stickers which they put on all their OE merchandise including replacement parts for their cars.

I was telling Spacedog about this:

Bottom-left: 787B, right? It says that this is "that one car" you can't leave out in discussions about Japanese race cars, or Rotary. If it was something else after such a statement, I'll @#%Q^.
I'm in for top left and top right. Don't care for the rest.
I usually like SP1, but in this case, all, but SP1. Weird.
👍 I have a 1/43 collection of the similar DRM/Group 5's. Which i will photograph and post at some point. I had intended to expand it to include the Japanese Super Silhouettes and this post encouraged me to look some up on ebay. Might have to rethink it. The Skylines are between £100 and £600! - although the Bluebirds are a little more palatable at ~£38
Were these 1/64, or 1/43? I've seen both, and especially with the Bluebirds, they seemed to be similarly priced in either scale. I think 1/43 was brand called Ebbro or something like that?

P.S. Why does your thing still say "North Korea" Dan? lmao

It screams Kyosho to me(not a Kyosho collector though).

I thought they looked familiar.

I'm going to ask on Tuesday if I have access to those cars. If I do, we may have to do a group buy. :D
Ford Racing(now "Ford Performance") one time did 1/18 Ford Racing Mustang by AUTOart. I still have that one in display case at work. So cool. Back then, I think I only paid about $40 w/employee discount.

LOL I might buy them both myself...

Thinking just the Cosmo for me at the moment.

R35's are cool and super nice models but they've released so many over the past couple of years, I've kinda lost interest in them a little.

If they ever do a GT3 version of the R35, however. That would be a must buy. :embarrassed:
Yeah saw that. Will order in orange.

👍
Bottom-left: 787B, right?

Trying to keep my expectations low but that's definitely a group c prototype shape. And when you're talking Mazda, it can only mean one thing, right?

Even more convinced after noticing how it reads pending permission from Mazda. They are clearly excited about it, they can't even wait to share before official permission from Mazda clears. It's gotta be the one!

Finally!

You've sold me. It can't be anything else.
I'm pretty sure it'll have removable hood/cover thing to reveal the engine.[/sometimesfullofcrap]
And I'm calling it. Best TLV, ever.
They better blow Kyosho out of the water. I expect greatness!
Also, what the hell is Mazda's problem? Approve the damn thing already! :dopey:
They are likely asking for one million dollar's worth of motor oil.

Edit: Just caught this. This must be the GreenLight clay model.

These are all Nismo official merchandise. I think most if not all were available on their website. The first is the Tomica I posted photos of a few posts back. The rest are Kyosho.

Most of them were sold out on their website. The prices in HK went through the roof. I originally preordered the Tomica but the status of that is now unknown, as many shops had to cancel or cut orders. I ended buying mine at scalpers price, which is more than eBay prices...

However the Tokyo Auto Salon show has just begun, and it seems Nismo were holding stock for this event as HK is now flooded with them. The prices for all these should drop significantly now.

Well it could be the livery that demands licensing skills, no? That Renown livery has its own perks, after all... 💡

But yes, if Tomica says it's "that one car", it can't be any other Mazda racing car. They show it next to the Cosmo, rotary engine. They say it's a car no Wankel fan can forget, one and only Le Mans rotary-powered winner.

If they are going to release something else (like the less successful 767B), they are grand fools and liars, I'm calling it right now... And if it is the 787B, and if it'll come with a Super Silhouette pricetag, then make it as detailed as a Super Silhouette model, TLV!

The answer? They are Kyoshos. Look at that Z-Tune and the GT-R GT3. The look exactly similar to that of the raffle. ;)

it wouldnt be the first time Nissan's used a flexible wing... my 280ZXR has a giant rubber whale tail that you can watch flex when you catch wind buffers off semi's

I think I had both on preorder with dabox, which as you guys already know are not being fulfilled, and emails, Facebook message has gone ignored. I really wanted at least the Idemitsu Civic though. I wonder if I should just assume that dabox broke contract & order the Idemitsu...

Don't get my hopes up.

Well, tell the licensing people to hurry up too!!

Any other place you can buy this? I saw on the Tarmac website they have distributors in many countries, including Japan.

It mentions Dabox as the exclusive distributor for HK. I'm not sure if that means sole distributor, and then sole retailer. These are available in most shops. The shop I bought them from yesterday had lots of stock. Paid HKD125 (USD16) for the JACCS, and HKD150 (USD19) for the Idemitsu.

Cheapest I've found so far was $30 on eBay. Japanese sites have nothing. One shop in Rakuten had the red one, but it was $40 I think? That's before international shipping. I'll check dabox real quick. Unfortunately for me, I think they got the market cornered!

Edit: Just checked dabox website & Idemitsu Civic has now sold out. I sent them another message pretty much begging for update, so we'll see how it goes.

Is this a must have item? Have you bought other Tarmac releases?

For me, these are my first and will most probably be the last. Hugely disappointed with the quality. When I took out the car from the packaging (identical to Kyosho) it is so light I thought it must be all plastic. And the decals for the whole car use water transfers makes it look tacky close up.

At these prices the fit and finish should be much better. Definitely not Collector quality.
