It's closer to a Fulvia than you might think, as in your description of the car you left out the most important aspect of it: it's front wheel drive. It's the only fwd rotary Mazda in the history of the brand. It's also indecently rare, as there were less than 1000 cars produced.

Thanks for clarifying the FWD part of the Luce, that is one detail that I didn't remember as well as the design. The rarity part I do know about, since much like the Cosmo, the Luce was made back when Mazda was taking its baby steps in the world of Rotary cars.
And by the way, nice 155. Shame it does fetch a pretty penny these days, as Apok said a few posts ago... Moreso if I tried to get it from you.
