I don't even really "hunt" anymore. I just check the isle when I'm at the store for other things.
Same. That's why I have just one Walmart I go to, couple other department stores in the area where I'm picking up lunch, etc. I hunted one year & it was not economical. Much cheaper to pay the scalpers.

TLVs have risen in demand after ThatLamleyGroup spoke word about it years ago.

It's probably no surprise either that some Japan Booster pre-orders don't last long, with the amount of heavy promotion John gives them on the blog.

Not to mention all I have is 1 Walmart, 1 KMart, and a few grocery stores. Everything else is 50 miles away.

I do have Walmart in walking distance from work, Fred Meyer(Kroger) near work, near home. Toys R Us is near me, two Targets that somehow have no trouble coexisting 10 minutes from each other. It's not bad.

Only gripe is how Walmart stores across town always seem to have better selections. Many exclusives like ZAMACS, etc., that are automatic at other locations, I don't even ever see.

I always get the impression that the clientele there isn't interested any goldang furrin junk and skips right over the TLV posts.

Commentors there seem to want less TLV coverage and more Hot Wheels.

Searching through Instagram using #TomicaLimitedVintage, most posters sharing their TLVs are from Europe and Southeast Asia. Few American posters.

I feel TLVs are a niche market stateside, even with the Lamley blog/Japan Booster partnership. I am curious to see Japan Booster's customer demographics.

I've seen some get interested in TLVs, but yes, I think most are into collecting $1 cars, not $15 + shipping cars.
I'm not gonna bite lol.
@Spacedog, you need to try harder!

I used to be a pretty active member in Malaysian TLV group on Facebook for little while? Great bunch of guys. However, Facebook police wouldn't let me use my invented profile, so I had to leave both the page representing my blog & the Malaysian TLV club.

Anyway, while there were very few members from U.S., Europe, etc., you can tell that there was quite a bit of following in Southeast Asia. Club was thriving, hated having to leave.

I'll get you next time, Goose! NEXT TIME!!!

My paint skills are off the charts. :dopey:

Picked up the black Koni Focus this afternoon, my Asda had topped up with yet more backlog. They have added the Mattel F&F line, but at £6 I'll quite happily pass. If it was HW premiums like Air Cooled, I'd be going gaga.

Very little doubt about this.... Then again, look who's talking. :dopey:

At that price, this is the slightly larger version, right? Not the $1 cars which I think were Walmart Exclusive in the U.S.?
The blower is ridiculously weak though.
Weak. You should have posted the photo of the real car side by side. 1/64 looks okay in comparison.

Crazy rare red chrome fire truck by TLV.

I have some TLVs considered rare.... or at least HTF. This thing, only 100 in existence. Ridiculous to say the least. :embarrassed::nervous: Special thanks to @GroupB for letting me blog this beauty!!

Also did this one tonight.

Special livery, special "version". Love the "Hino" crates & exclusive figure! :D

That XB coupe is hilariously inaccurate.
Spacegod showed me a pic of the actual car, and it wasn't that I thought the design was inaccurate, but it seemed like curves & proportions were all wrong. Like Jarrod noted, also the blower indeed is not as prominent as it is on the real car. Not that I had high hopes(GreenLight), but still little bit disappointed.

Sort of seems more rounded? I don't know, it's hard to judge off that one image. It's about what I expected from GL, really.

I didn't realise that it came with creates as well as that figure. Very cool and that livery rocks. 👍

May goats be with you.

Call me silly for posting this but I have one massive regret that I wish to share. Years ago, I had a Hot Wheels Acceleracers playset and a couple of the vehicles (still have them) from the movies (or extended cut TV episodes if you like). Basically, this playset is either gone or wrecked, and the cars we have are also destroyed. I am spewing because these cars a now worth a fortune on eBay... Then again, I wasn't into collecting all those years ago, I was only interested in playing with the cars, so I had no clue how much they would be worth in the future. I want to buy some of these cars off eBay but with prices ranging between $45 and $150, I'll find it really hard to convince my parents that they are worth the money. However, the cars look awesome - the decals and colours are great. Examples:

Shame the little "Hino" crates don't come with mini-Contessas or something of the sort. Call me silly for wishing for such a feature, but it'd be a cute touch. Japan knows cute, right...? :sly:

Joke aside, you can certainly say you "gotta a killer deal" out of that truck. Congrats. 👍

I had it on watch for ages, but the lack of decent HW/MBX stock lately saw me take the plunge on the Tomica BMW i8. Like their MX5, I think it has a certain charm to it and it'll soften the wait for that fantastic Matchbox i3 to drop.

Why not? GreenLight does that from time to time. I agree with you!
That horrible wheel offset though.
I'm surprised by how often this becomes an issue. My Tarmac Civics weren't cheap & they have the same issue like it's some poorly designed cheapie. We've seen this from GreenLight before, too.
Thinking of pre-ordering the TLV '71 Skyline 2000GT in grey June release.
I don't remember this one. I'll have to look it up.👍

Wow, I'm surprised with how well you accepted my so-called "idea", haha.

But then again, if GreenLight does it for less money than some of these extremely-expensive TLV trucks, something should click in Takara Tomy to do the same... Plus, Tomica already has a Contessa casting, all they need is putting it in the washing machine! :sly:

That is so worth chasing for.

Yeah I don't get the rage for Acceleracers, but the RD-09 is one of my favourites.
