I don't even really "hunt" anymore. I just check the isle when I'm at the store for other things.
Same. That's why I have just one Walmart I go to, couple other department stores in the area where I'm picking up lunch, etc. I hunted one year & it was not economical. Much cheaper to pay the scalpers.I don't even really "hunt" anymore. I just check the isle when I'm at the store for other things.
TLVs have risen in demand after ThatLamleyGroup spoke word about it years ago.
Not to mention all I have is 1 Walmart, 1 KMart, and a few grocery stores. Everything else is 50 miles away.Same. I do have Walmart in walking distance from work, Fred Meyer(Kroger) near work, near home. Toys R Us is near me, two Targets that somehow have no trouble coexisting 10 minutes from each other. It's not bad.Not to mention all I have is 1 Walmart, 1 KMart, and a few grocery stores. Everything else is 50 miles away.
It's probably no surprise either that some Japan Booster pre-orders doesn't last long, with the amount of heavy promotion John gives them on the blog.
I'm not gonna bite lol. It's like watching Hot Wheels National Geographic. "Watch as the spacedog baits the big goose for a bite in the outback...."
I always get the impression that the clientele there isn't interested any goldang furrin junk and skips right over the TLV posts.
I've seen some get interested in TLVs, but yes, I think most are into collecting $1 cars, not $15 + shipping cars.I always get the impression that the clientele there isn't interested any goldang furrin junk and skips right over the TLV posts.
@Spacedog, you need to try harder!I'm not gonna bite lol.
I used to be a pretty active member in Malaysian TLV group on Facebook for little while? Great bunch of guys. However, Facebook police wouldn't let me use my invented profile, so I had to leave both the page representing my blog & the Malaysian TLV club.Commentors there seem to want less TLV coverage and more Hot Wheels.
Searching through Instagram using #TomicaLimitedVintage, most posters sharing their TLVs are from Europe and Southeast Asia. Few American posters.
I feel TLVs are a niche market stateside, even with the Lamley blog/Japan Booster partnership. I am curious to see Japan Booster's customer demographics.

I LOVE Inspector Gadget!
Very little doubt about this.... Then again, look who's talking. My paint skills are off the charts.
At that price, this is the slightly larger version, right? Not the $1 cars which I think were Walmart Exclusive in the U.S.?They have added the Mattel F&F line
Weak. You should have posted the photo of the real car side by side. 1/64 looks okay in comparison. The blower is ridiculously weak though.
Spacegod showed me a pic of the actual car, and it wasn't that I thought the design was inaccurate, but it seemed like curves & proportions were all wrong. Like Jarrod noted, also the blower indeed is not as prominent as it is on the real car. Not that I had high hopes(GreenLight), but still little bit disappointed. That XB coupe is hilariously inaccurate.

Special livery, special "version". Love the "Hino" crates & exclusive figure!

Why not? GreenLight does that from time to time. I agree with you!Shame the little "Hino" crates don't come with mini-Contessas or something of the sort. Call me silly for wishing for such a feature, but it'd be a cute touch. Japan knows cute, right...?
I'm surprised by how often this becomes an issue. My Tarmac Civics weren't cheap & they have the same issue like it's some poorly designed cheapie. We've seen this from GreenLight before, too. That horrible wheel offset though.
I don't remember this one. I'll have to look it up.👍Thinking of pre-ordering the TLV '71 Skyline 2000GT in grey June release.

Crazy rare red chrome fire truck by TLV.
I have some TLVs considered rare.... or at least HTF. This thing, only 100 in existence. Ridiculous to say the least. Special thanks to @GroupB for letting me blog this beauty!!
Call me silly for posting this but I have one massive regret that I wish to share. Years ago, I had a Hot Wheels Acceleracers playset and a couple of the vehicles (still have them) from the movies (or extended cut TV episodes if you like). Basically, this playset is either gone or wrecked, and the cars we have are also destroyed. I am spewing because these cars a now worth a fortune on eBay... Then again, I wasn't into collecting all those years ago, I was only interested in playing with the cars, so I had no clue how much they would be worth in the future. I want to buy some of these cars off eBay but with prices ranging between $45 and $150, I'll find it really hard to convince my parents that they are worth the money. However, the cars look awesome - the decals and colours are great. Examples
