Still no Race Day cars. I forgot to checkout Toys R Us though, I'll do that tomorrow on the way home.

Target had an agreement with Mattel to get them first, so your best bet is to keep checking Target stores.

Seriously? I have two Target stores nearby, but they are the worst when it comes to Hot Wheels. I'll check them just in case this week, but it's entirely possible that this series will never hit these two stores.

I told @Spacegoat how this won't be crazy like with the white one. I'm certain this preorder actually closed faster than it did with the white Safety Loader. I can't believe it. If you were interested in one, I hope you got your preorder in.

The listing for that only went up the night before last? I knew it would sell out before release like the previous one but I didn't not think that it would sell out that fast. Unbelievable !!!

I think it's the scalpers. Also, just a hunch, but it might be that amiami struggled to fulfill the preorders last time around & keeping the numbers of this preorder more conservative? Just guessing.

Didn't notice that. I was sorely focused on the falcon.

Got a little bit of affection for that Buick casting. It was one of the first HW's I picked up when I got back into collecting a few years back.

And as cool and awesome as the flatbed is. I wouldn't have guessed that it would sell out before the 787b.

Wouldn't worry too much about until it's released. They give you seven days to pay for it, you can always just ignore the invoice when it comes.

Because the preorders hasn't sold out? They normally aren't supposed to sell out, at least not on amiami. What's going on with the Safety Loaders is plain freaky.

Just bought the Hot Wheels Race Day set on eBay. I paid a total of $63.50 which is quite a bit more than retail, yet I (or should I say my mum) honestly cannot be stuffed driving around town trying to find these things.

I always wondered about this. There's been a time or two where I no longer wanted the item I preordered, but I kept them, since their policy seems to lock you in.

WARNING!!! LONG TEXT!!!
First of all, today's collectors meeting has brought me these good things:

"What's inside that white box, Lukanyon?"

This is a 1971 Datsun Bluebird 510 Wagon. But this isn't just a 1971 Datsun Bluebird 510 Wagon, and I'm gonna explain why.

This year, there was supposed to be the first "Salão Hot Wheels" (Hot Wheels Showroom) in Brazil, an event organized by Mattel itself. 3000 units of this casting were made, and it was going to be sold exclusively at the event. It's got all of the premium treatment: Real Riders, metal base, headlights and taillights details.
Unfortunately, due to some issues, the event was cancelled. However, one of the most known collectors store in Brazil, Semaan Brinquedos (Semaan Toys) bought the castings, and they were being sold today at the monthly collectors meeting. R$120 each (around US$36)! But I think they're worth it.

And what's the best part? I GOT ONE FOR FREE! I took part in a contest where the prize was one unit of the casting, and I won the contest! I'm sooooooo happy!

Looks like they stole real riders(rubber tires) & put the cars back on the card with cheap mainline wheels, then returned them to the store for refund.

I would've saved so much money on donor wheels if I did that with all the pop culture and Boulevards I ever bought.... WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF DOING THAT!?
