 Beans are good for you though.

The lighting, yes. :sly:

I'm on a freaking roll, got dammit. I've lost 7 straight E-Bay auctions. Yup.
I was bidding on that solar powered car(hot wheels from years back) called something-eagle? Last minute bidder took it away with four seconds left.

It's like if you are not cheating, you are not trying(term I apply to basketball lol). eBay should really install a system that takes last minute sniping away. Make it a true auction. Last second bid, extend the time.

Whaaaaat? No Gumpert Apollo? :P

Was about to say the same thing

Yeah yeah, I'm looking. There are 2 Siku 1:43 models on ebay, one costs $20 with shipping :dunce: and the other will take a month to get here for $8. I'm tempted to get a 1:43 model instead but those are in the $300-$400 range for some reason.

By the way, if you really wanted to find the Challenger, should have just looked at the number to make it easier for yourself. :P
Huh? What number? :odd:
Last time I checked, the mystery cars at my Walmart are all gone, except for some left over undesirable ones.
Mystery cars were gone from the Walmart here for weeks, then 2, 3 of the stores had restocked, and they had box full this morning. Like I said, I got lucky and felt the Challenger by my second bag, so I'm sure the store workers didn't think I was a complete freak. Maybe just a little weird. When I'm rubbing those bags, I tried to make it as subtle as I possibly could.

And lastly, on a side note. I was able to pull my friend back into collecting hot wheels! Tomorrow after work we're planning on going to multiple stores for some hunting. :D He's an old childhood friend of mine and probably my only close gearhead friend that I know. (Back then, we ALWAYS played with our hot wheels during indoor recess ) Can't wait for tomorrow!
My coworkers & friends just roll their eyes, when I ask if we could go look at the hot wheels/toy aisle real quick. Sucks to be old. No, wait. They suck.

Nice finds a6m5! I never knew how desirable the AE86 was from the Decades series. >_> By the way, if you really wanted to find the Challenger, should have just looked at the number to make it easier for yourself. :P Still looking around for the Buick Grand National and K.I.T.T. (Looks like I've become the unofficial gtplanet Kenmeri obsessed freak)

Last time I checked, the mystery cars at my Walmart are all gone, except for some left over undesirable ones. Hoping that Toys R Us and Target have finally restocked on their pegs, since last time I checked there was nothing new or interesting. I'm pretty sure they should have by now... Which stores will these four sided shippers most likely be at?

That's great news that you enlisted a old buddy in the world of HW again. Good luck with the hunts tomorrow! I'm planning of looking around myself.

Right now it's Walmart that's getting them, but throughout the year other places get them too.

Ok I'll be on the lookout then.

I made a new lighting setup just about an hour ago or so and I'm currently taking shots of every single car I have. I personally think it's super super stunning. I'm not done yet, but my fist set of batteries died so I'm taking a quick break before going back for round 2.

And just to get you an idea, it looks like this:

Ain't that pretty?

Enough with the teasers! :P

Bring on the full course! ;)

Schwartz38
Good. You should spend your money on gas. Its expensive. :P

AOS-
The cheaper solution would be to just eat a lot of beans.

Or better yet......

You could save more money by switching to Geico....

Gieco, fifteen minutes on the phone can save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance.

There's a way you can find the car without having to feel it or open it before purchasing.

It is rather depressing with many people looking down upon you for collection "child's toys." It's something that makes people different and it is something we truly enjoy. Society sucks. :grumpy:

So true. Society thinks that guys and even some girls(though it's mostly guys) who "don't grow up" are consider wierd, wacked or even to the point of being called virgins.

Just because we collect/read/play/own scale cars, action figures, comic books, graphic novels, video games or do anything "different", dosen't mean we are "strange". It's stupid and it gives many ingorant misconceptions about us than a little bit. And what is really sad, is when kids, themselves, think they are so "big" they see a late teen/ twenty something guy buying "children things" they are better than you, because society brainwashed them to the point they should follow trends andlook down on others who are "different". You have to question people's IQ or something. :banghead:

Yeah there's these so called fanboys(not the true collectors, gamers and fans) who worsens our chance to show others that we are not the typical, but want to express ourselves in what we like or do.

There's guys who are partying and hanging out, but when they go home, they must hit GameStop, Toys R' Us or BestBuy just to look at some "child's or nerd's toy". But if they talk about Hot Wheels or about PS3/Xbox 360s Intel Core gaming PCs or talk about anything not "cool" or stupid celeberty gossip, people will look them down.

I'm 22 years old, I hang out with my friends, I talk with other people, I try my "skills" when talking with girls. I'm smart and I collect cars and play video games and I can go out and socialize. So what? And us nerds, geeks, enthuiasts get hot girls twice as more than the typical dude. And that's telling you something there. Nerds/gamers/enthuiasts/collectors get HOT GIRLS and are NOT afraid to be DIFFERENT!!!

End rant.

Thanks for the info Medigo! đź‘Ť

No problem guys! When I first heard about the mystery models, I thought to myself that it'd be interesting to buy a model and see what you get. But I found this video and used it when they first appeared for me at my local Walmart.

And for those who don't have the time or can't be bothered to watch the video. The 2nd number on the bag corresponds with the number on the back telling you which car it is. Ex. DXX/## on the bag, the red #s are basically where you would find the number. Luckily, the 2012 mystery models will be in the same type of bag with the numbers. :)

You gotta be 🤬 🤬 me. What is the 🤬 point!?

But yeah, thank you for pointing that out. I might want #4(Ranchero) or #6(Camaro).

Actually, it's not that bad with the friends. Most of my friends are still into different types of toys or hobbies, so it's more of just routine, obligatory busting of chops. If it's not about the Hot Wheels, it would be something else. :D Surprisingly, I rarely get crap from the girls(they probably secretly collect barbies).
I've had a guy say to me, "you're not gonna buy that, are you?" "that's for kids."

I would actually find that funny. Yeah, they are for kids. But so are million other stuff out there that any self-respecting hip adults enjoy, openly or secretly. If you don't have some kind of silly vice or two(or two hundred), you might be an unbelievably boring person. ;) You will have responsibilities as you get older, and we all should take care of those things. But after that, I'm sorry, you should play.

This morning, I ran into another collector, this guy was old, too(one I ran into last looked retired), probably near or around 70? Looked like the "old man" from Pawn Star, kinda. He's looking through the pegs, so I patiently wait by looking thru the Matchbox & stuff. When he's moved on, but didn't come up with anything, I start looking through the stuff he just went through & I go "nothing good in here, huh?". He looks at me straight into my eyes & go "Nothing that will make a grown man say 'poop'".

I didn't know what he meant, but that cracked me up.

Not only that, but they get the girls who get it. If a girl isn't bothered by you collecting, playing or doing whatever the hell you do, then chances are she does the same and so, both share interests and hobbys and can help each other or can do it together, and that is priceless I tell you. I married a girl I met at an anime forum, so I KNOW what I'm saying. True story.

50% of the people who met boy/girl online say that they are happy with the result.

The other 50% is still missing........

Seriously though, that is an awesome story. I've never been in a relationship where there weren't series of conflicts. Meeting the female counterpart of yourself would be interesting. :embarrassed:

Congrats Cano! I give you đź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ť and a cookie.

Yes, it's great when you can find a girl or have friends who collect or do anything different and/or share the same hobbys as you do. It has a unique reaction that's is hard to separate and it will keep going strong. :)

Yep, I like it when a girl knows her cars instead of thinking cars are only for point A to point B or into girly cars.

If she knows her Tuner, Muscle, Exotic, Truck/SUV, performance hybrid and bikes. Then that's the girl right there.

Plus she gotta be a little naughty also. :embarrassed:

Had a good time going out with a friend purchasing several hot wheels. He ended up purchasing the more expensive $5 Vintage Racing, so he kind of gave up after that. Along with the fact he had to be home at a certain time... :(

I was only able to visit Target and Toys R Us, before having to head home and drop my friend off. I would have gone to Walmart, but didn't feel like wasting time going back and wasting fuel. I finally found the silver Aventador and the blue RX-7 at Target. :D Really wanted to buy them, but I didn't feel like getting doubles just yet. Still no sign of the other models I want (Kenmeri, KITT, Grand National, DMC-12)

The purchases of today...

There weren't many good cards for the 430 Scuderia, so I'll open it soon enough. I really need a case to put them in (would like to get the jammers, but not allowed to buy anything online).

shut up and take my money!

Chrysler Turbine & Fiero looks promising. I did notice the Fiero when R1600 posted it. I'm not a fan of the car, but it has nice realistic details to it.

Really disappointed in the Olds & '32 Ford. Great paint job on them. They should put those ponies or bronies or whatever painted on them for extra.

Not that I've been looking for one, but I have yet to see the blue RX-7. When I see one, I'm getting one of those. Where I live, Target is a waste of time. Toys R Us is pretty good, but the collectors & scalpers clean them out fast. Walmart is great, but especially for the decade series, boulevard series, etc. Ours don't carry the Vintage anymore, which really increased the odds of me ever finding the Bluebird/510 in any stores. One I do have was from either eBay or toypeddler.

The Grand National you are looking for, is it the regular series, or the boulevard series? Boulevard one is everywhere, but I haven't seen the regular Grand National in probably a year or more, with the exception of the one with nasty stuff painted on it. :yuck:

I'm looking for the boulevard Grand National. Nothing but Camaro concepts and Ford GTX1s left at my local stores. Target does feel that way at times, their shelves are almost always empty here. But on occasion I do find interesting things that I haven't found at Toys R Us or Walmart. The vintage racing series is still around at Toys R Us, so I suppose our Toys R Us still carries several discontinued models.

There is a local department type chain in our area that still get new boxes of Vintage Racing. I don't know if it's still available, or this is a weird store, so they had some old stock? I'm just glad that they get them, but still, 510 gets cleaned out. :(

I also see different cars at different stores & chains, so visiting variety of them seem to help. đź‘Ť

Finding the Vintage Racing 510 would be great, but I'm guessing they were probably the most desired out of the series? Maybe I'll look into the local flea market...wonder how often they might restock...

HUGE PICTURES WARNING!

Bought some new stuff last weekend. Decided I'd use a similar setup to Car-less' for my pictures. I hope you don't mind Car-less:

I then went out for a photoshoot with them outside:

More in my gallery.

I was also going through some of my collection, I decided to get my most interesting and take some pictures:

There is something quite interesting about the front two cars. If you examine them, they are actually the same casting with different exhaust pipes.

Hey look, he's got Kenmeri, too. j/k :P

I like the last car whatever that is, and that Testarossa is sweet. đź‘Ť

So many restoreable cars in there.

Also, I picked up a bunch of stuff at the Hot Wheels Mexico Club get-together today. I'll post pics later.

Pffft, I got one ages ago, they are old news now. :sly:
Tell that to Medigo. I got mine(I think I bought like four of those) while back, and probably every single Hot Wheel thing I check has at least one of those, sometimes like ten.

Tonight, I had to go shop, so I looked around for Hot Wheels, and one thing's for sure, Vintage Racing is gone. At least in my area. One store chain that did have brand new stock, even as recent as last weekend?, they must've been old stock.

No blue RX-7, but no biggie. I did try that Mystery Car technique, but it must've been the older series, as I couldn't find the IROC Camaro I was interested in. I did however find one car I wanted, and they actually had it in stock:

The End.
