Sarge: Sir! The sound of evil laughter coming from GTPlanet!

Detective: Relax, Sarge. Have your Twinkie. We have men in there.

Got my Ford Falcon XB back from my friend! :dopey: Traded my '71 Mustang Boss 351 for it, since he's more of a Mustang fan. Going to have to find myself the new mystery models Ford Falcon XB in green.

Great job finding a buddy to trade with, Medigo. Now he'll keep an eye out for what you want and you can keep an eye out for him. Having neighbor buddies or school/work friends who share the passion for the hobby kicks the fun up a notch.

I finally managed to break my losing spree on E-Bay, and grabbed a bunch of 80s Sikus at a great price. They’re freaking dusty, though, but doesn’t matter. Another auction comes in three days or so. I need to stop wasting money on these things -_-

amazing collection, Car-less. Care to share the big-ass version of that?

[checks memory card and recycle bin]
That's not gonna happen as I've only got the edited version left. Not that the original showed too much more detail at 2592x1728 cropped to 2400x1600. You'll just have to wait for the individual photos.

I only have just over 300...don't know where you got that number from. And I only bought this much because a lot of them already exist, which you probably would have already obtained YEARS ago. This is just me catching-up. I can't overtake you unless you buy less cars than me that are released 2012 and later [/logic]

I count 32 accross by 12 down = 384 in your picture, so just under 400.

I have 142 cars from 2011, 102 from 2010 and between 20 and 50 for each other year since 2000. I guess this thread kickstarted me back into collecting seriously though I doubt I'll increase my yearly purchases much above 150. Sure you can still overtake me, but it will probably take much longer than I first thought.

New Zealand doesn't have those I don't think. I'll look at The Warehouse but I don't think they sell roads separately. :(

Oh yeah, where did you get the Lego roadplates from? I used to have the Hot Wheels City tracks, but gave those away to a friend. And I may want to pick up some road tracks up again.

Also, can you buy a large set with Lego people only instead of paying cash for the buildsets that always have people? I would love to buy them for a city like theme just for fun. Thanks.

Technically the roadplates I used are actually runway plates from an airport set as they were cleaner than any of my roadplates. Also beware that there have been many different colours/sizes of roadplates over the years.

Go to http://www.shop.lego.com for the current range of sets and parts, though most kits can be bought cheaper elsewhere. It might be an idea to dig up the Lego thread to keep this one on topic though.

So tell me, all of these cars are from your childhood combined with recent years? Because if you have 380+ (400, I rounded your number to the nearest hundred) cars right there. That must mean you have more, mostly older ones or that's the main total. So, do you have more? If so, me want to see nao.

You seem to have got the numbers confused. The 380 was referring to AOS' photo. My collection numbers 60 trays x 20 cars = 1200, plus 18 boards x 30 cars = 540, plus the more unusual stuff at the front and back, giving a total somewhere around 2000.

The boards around the outside are more recent years while everything else is older. My childhood collection expanded into semi serious collectng before I stopped around 1996 when I was away at University.

Competition, ay? Anyone want to challenge my error collection? :sly:

Also, I bought a new Boulevard car. Will post a pic a bit later.

My Miura error would have stayed an error if Jason didn't challenge it. I got curious and managed to squeeze it back to the normal position without indenting the blister or damaging the card, but I couldn't undo that afterwards :grumpy:

Excuse me?

Oh, posting police forces, are we now? Just wait until I get back for summer. ;)

Sarge: Sir, there is definitely activity of some sort - either a vicious chop shop or some numbers racket. Some of the big shots are in, too. Overheard something about 'summer'. And some 'error'.
Detective: Sarge - call for back-up. Right now.

Thanks for the info on the Legos. Man, those prices are outrageous on the site. I'll look in the stores or other online stores. I'll take a look at the Lego thread though.

Ooppss, my bad. Yeah I got AOS's cars count mixed up with yours.

Woah! You have around 2000 cars?! Nice collection bro. :)👍

I got EMP disabling weapons. :mischievous:

This thread's getting little bit weird.
I'm not French, but yeah, I surrender. :dopey:

Seen only one Ken Meri so far, a6m5. I need a couple more - that car screams for modding. I guess the market will be flooded soon enough, like the DMC. Hopefully!
Yeah, that is so weird how availability change regionally. I could probably go pick 3 Kenmeri a day, without even trying. If I tried, I can probably score 50 in one day.

Some loose MB's:
Nice matchbox cars. 👍 I thought I bought the original Mini, but last time I went through my cars, I didn't notice that in there. I wonder if I didn't buy it? :banghead: I have the Land Cruiser, but not in the factory paint scheme like yours. It was like OD green. Again: :banghead: I wish I bought the GMC truck. Looks really cool, but I didn't feel like picking them up then, because I'm sort of a F-1 truck fanboy when it comes to pick ups of that era. Last time: :banghead:

Well I just received my small purchases from eBay today. Nice cute little box. Will bust it open when I return from school today.

Request permission, Sir, to open these suspicious packages - items are disguised as 2012 HWs but seeing could be an optical illusion. Will provide full report upon mission completion.

I think those wheels look horrid (on any car) .
I do need to find a DBS though. Wouldn't mind an S15 Silvia either.

There's still some DBS' and S15's my area... Want me to buy it for you?

Oh and photonrider, some of those aren't 2012. It clearly reads "11" on the bottom.
