SVX - Thanks, first for the 'huge' amount of pictures. Time you posted some! Strangely enough we have many of the same car - and in similar condition, heh heh; we know how that happens, eh?
As for apologising for your post . . . puh-leese . . .it's enough that your oh-so-humble OP is what brought me into this thread. Rule the roost, man.

Now . . . on to business.
First order of the day: small announcement.
Tired of hinting once again over and over, I decided to go ahead, burn the midnight oil, and create another HW-related thread (though the scales are wider, and the range, broader), this one related to the actual Photography per se, (like the Customizing Thread focuses on customizing.) I do invite you over to post some of your stuff in there, and as well come over to discuss more broadly the issues of shutter vs aperture priority.
I see, like me, you enjoy playing and photographing the models, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the thread.
Also this gives us a space in the appropriate location to preserve, access, and show-of our work, instead of it being buried in this thread - the same reason I kept asking for a Customisation thread.



The photoshot outside resulted in that fabulous shot of the car on the hill (reminds me of what I do with a GT-R in TDU2. haha!). That is such a keeper, great shot - you already have it in your gallery, but would fit in nicely in the 'Painting with Light' thread.

I will definitely go to that thread of yours, photonrider. Thank you very much for the kind words.

Car-less, i have to say i'm really quite jelly of your collection... very much reminds me of my own old collection, had pretty much all the Corgi you posted on the previous page with exception to a few (Scimitar, Capri drag car), i had the cement mixer too, but it appears you're missing the towing hoop on that particular 1, overall though Fantastic collection.

Hey now, you'll be ok. I feel the same about my old collection, looking through several pictures in earlier posts and saying "hey! I had one of those!" Then searching around the house and remembering how in your junior high days you "grew" out of it and gave them away. (Hated the fact that I did that... How it was "uncool" to still have "kids" toys) All I had left was a 48 diecast case under my old bed. So many more interesting models I had (also older), that I miss so MUCH!

A Tank transporter in a similar size to the Ford D Series above.
1 yellow, and 1 silver Corgi minibus.
A 2nd Binz Ambulance.
Another Matra Rancho in blue, with a red interior.
An 'addidas van' in red probably with some other logo's.
Beach buggies in various colours.
A red Majorette ice cream van.
A red Majorette Morgan.
A Pink Majorette Porsche 911 with wide wheels.
A silver Majorette Volvo 760.
A brown Majorette older model Jeep cherokee.
A black Majorette RX7.

...and that's just the ones I've been reminded of whilst researching/photographing what I've shown so far.

I know Medigo, that's pretty much what happened to me , and as much as i regret ever giving them away (old collection), i still do give away spare Hotwheels now and again (shoe box appeals around xmas time).

Hey Car-less, did you ever have the Corgi Rover SD1 pencil sharpener?, i wish i still had that, and yeah i used to have a few of those Adidas vans with different logo's on them (Charlies angels, Superman, Spiderman.. i think).

I've never owned one, but I do recall seing a dark grey/brown hatchback with a pencil sharpener in the back. Is that the one that you had?

@AOS 70! Isn't that about 20% of your total collection? I'd be seriously annoyed if I could list 70 missing cars by the end of verifying my 2000 piece collection.

Nah, mine was red (beige interior/sharpener, black base) was a hatchback though.. must have been a different colour variation. Ha! just noticed the blue Regal's red light missing, had that 1 and the Kojak Regal, though it was on the Kojak 1 that my light decided it didn't want to play , spent hours jiggling it about in hope that it would find the hole but to no avail....

I still have no way of posting pictures until I get back home, BUT I made a trip to Target today and was pleasantly surprised. Among my grabs: the blue RX-7 , a red One-77 (now I have all 3 colors! ), the K&N Viper GTS-R, an excellent Ferrari 5-pack including an FXX , 2 Team Hot Wheels cars (370Z and Genesis Coupe...I don't know why I keep buying these but I like them! ), and a Matchbox black with yellow stripes Caterham R500 (complimenting my yellow with black stripes! 👍 ). Still no KITT though, and that's the one I really want.

There are many 5-packs out now that have one or two really awesome cars in them, so I might try to find those loose on eBay. Anyone know of sellers that do that? Sell individual cars from 5- or 10-packs?

Thanks, a6m5 - always nice to hear from you! (haha, even when you"re grumbling.) My MB/Major collections are my favourites - it's just that isn't enough of them. I'm always on the lookout for something I don't have. HWs however have subliminal marketing strategies. You may have the same car appearing simultaneously, maybe with a wheel or colour variation from one year to the next, and then you may have colour variations in the same series ( I have an example of that - will bring it out later. So it's much easier to source HWs, plus a wider variety is available; our HWs take over the collection!

True about the Hot Wheel variants, but I just went through my Matchboxes(no original Minis!), and I had three Dodge Monaco Police cars with three different schemes. No Hot Wheels from me this week, but I did pick up couple of Matchbox cars from grocery stores. I'll post them later.

Haven't voted yet. Guide me - I have six drawers of packages (90+, depending on pakage size, in each drawer.) Of these, only one drawer contains 'collectibles' - more on that later. The others contain cars that are to be opened and used. If you look at the last picture in this post you'll understand what I mostly do with my cars.
I also have packages up on the wall - all are displays; any one could be opened on a whim. Depends on the mood.
Then I have trays, and boxesfull, and tabletops scattered with loose cars; hundreds of them.
Is there a ballot for 'Collector/Impulse Opener'?

So "Kinda", or "Yes and No", right? I respect the art of "collecting", but I also noted in the past that I'm sort of whatever float your boat kinda guy. Ultimately, sealed or opened, whichever way you are satisfied with is the correct way to collect 'em. So in short, breaking them open on impulse is the way to go as long as you aren't two minutes later.

That is PRECISELY why I look forward to your posts, Car-less (your name SO doesn't fit you btw), because you have several models that I have never seen before. If there is one brand that my collection is seriously lacking is Corgi. I don't know why but I always tend to overlook them when I search E-Bay, for example.

Corgi sold in Mexico but pretty bad, so finding them now is uncommon and expensive most of the times. You can find the most common models for realtively cheap but finding rare stuff is way expensive. I'll keep an eye on many of these, though, I had never seen the Renault 5 for example, it's awesome!! But there are several cars there that I loved, like the Matras, the Triumph TW9, Mustang, Escort & Sierras and the Mangusta, and that Reliant Scimitar which I have seen several times for sale but the glass is always a disgrace.

And the big rigs too, awesome. I never knew orgi made trucks in that scale, I had only seen Majorettes and Playarts in that size. A friend of mine got one of those MANN trucks without the box and turned it into a full-boogie car transporter complete with custom bodywork done in styrene and such stuff, I'll ask for some pictures and post them.

And I'll of course also post the few pics of my Corgis I have online:

in here we see the red Trans Am, the 007 Lotus submarine, the dirt track thing, and an orange Gugiaro concept car behind the blue HW Blazer.

This pic has only two Corgis, but one of them is by far the rarest one I've got, the cop car VW Bug in the very front row. The other one would be the red E-Type jag with opening hood.

At the very top the blue Land Rover, orange Canon-sponsored M3 race car and the Joker ambulance are all Corgis:

This would be the latest Corgi addition to my collection, the Bizarrini Manta in near-mint shape, cost me $5

Went to the Dollar Tree at the mall today for the first time...and guess what I found!

First time I did a small hoarding in one shopping run. I just HAD to get the Kenmeri Skylines! Also found the Evora from 2011 and some other 2011 Hot Wheels. A lot of 2011 models at the Dollar Tree along with several Maisto cars I never saw anywhere else. I think I'll be going there again.

Nothing too interesting at Toys R Us, but I did buy the Classic Rides 5-Pack. My first 5-pack that I've ever bought. Not counting the Ferrari 5-Pack my cousin gifted me years ago.

Pretty much I wanted all of these models! Speaking of which, I found an offroad 5-pack (can't remember the exact one) with three of the five cars on their side. An error? Or were they just too big to place on their wheels in the package.

Fresh from all the way in Canada!

A friend of mine was nice enough to send me this... after I found out, supposedly, the Ken Block HW Fiesta is only available in the US and Canada... and right after I'd sent my details to him, we found one in Morrisons. Ah well, looks like I'll have to have two... ;P

I think I'll open this one... the other one I found in Morrisons will remain in the packaging though. I've only just recently started leaving my HW/MB in their packaging... mainly because all the other unboxed ones have just got too dusty or scratched. Here are my still packaged ones:

The Ken Block Fiesta found in Morrisons by my eagle eyed mother;

Camaro ZL1, also found in Morrisons, on the same day;

Copo Camaro, found in Morrisons, same day;

Matchbox Oldsmobile Vista Cruise, found this in Wilkinsons and immedietly grabbed it. It has a For Sale sign in the windscreen, with 'dogs not included' on. It also has dogs in the back. Obviously.

I have looaadds more, but... they're tucked away and I'm lazy.

I doubted that I'd find them a bit. When I walked over to the pegs however, I noticed there were several models I'd never seen at any other stores. First one to jump at me was the Lotus Evora in that bright green. Then poked through the pegs and found a total of six Kenmeri's there. Might buy at least one more...for some reason. What do you mean by weight off your shoulders? If I find more the Hakosuka's, I'll hoard them as well!

I don't usually go for the multipacks, mainly because they'd be hard to hide from my parents. But I knew I had to get one with the licensed cars and since I knew I wouldn't find them in singles for a while or even ever.

Edit: Forgot to note, the local Walmart finally restocked their four-sided display! Quite a few more color variations that I wasn't able to find earlier there. Still no KITT! Target was empty as always, but they did have the '70 Plymouth Superbird I wanted. Didn't buy it though since I spent quite a bit of money already and plan on saving it for my trip tomorrow night.

Oh, kind of thought that was what you meant, but wasn't sure. You wouldn't have to ship them over anyways, even if I didn't find them. I'd feel pretty bad that you'd have to waste some money to send me one car.

They're about £1.20, maybe a little more... no more than £2 though. Morrisons have both Hot Wheels and Matchbox. Well, the one near me does anyway... lol.

That was the weird thing about it. Around my area, I could find a few of them without even trying. They are one of those hot wheels cars that you are constantly having to move out of the way to get to other ones

I picked up that rare A team van * don't say its not at my local collectors place * really 52 miles away* its 15$ new or 5$ open!* and a white ken block rally car ive only seen 3 but a bunch of black ones
and a dodge truck today at target, there seems to be a 2012 model shortage every were I go =(
