Thinking I'll be avoiding retail stores as much as I can for the rest of this month/year. As if things weren't bad enough, now stores get emptied out within hours instead of a day or more. A local collector friend notified me the night before that the local Target got the 2022 B case, but after I went the next day before noon, the shelves were completely empty. Can't blame people if it's parents buying for their kids for the holidays if that's what the reason is, but man, it's certainly disheartening seeing the pegs emptied within hours. My social anxiety already makes me hate how busy stores get during the holidays, but seeing people going nuts and buying up everything on shelves is disappointing.

Not only that, but after my parents were doing their shopping, they got into a automobile accident in a parking lot after someone was cutting across without looking. Safe to say, I really want to avoid going out beyond the necessities this month. Really hate diecast hunting during the holiday season and it only seems worse this year.

Other than that, I at least found the F8 Green Dodge Challenger Hellcat and black Jeep Wrangler with the roof basket by Autoworld recently. At work so I don't have photos to post of them, but will probably add them later in an edit.

Shelves have been getting emptied quick (or not restocked) before the holiday rush. For my American collectors, look at some of the smaller stores. In this case, avoid Target & Walmart, try Dollar General & Big Lots. When I was looking earlier in the year, I found one new model at a small chain called Roses. Probably gonna just find HW/Matchbox, but if they make what you want, it's an outlet worth checking.

Another great selection of premiums that I probably won’t see or get partial sets of. I might have to buy some or the full sets online if I can’t find them in stores. Still haven’t seen any Boulevard series cars at stores since the first couple of sets.

I've just been buying boxes online. Comes with two complete sets. Can sell the extra set to get some money back. Way easier than wasting time/gas looking for them in stores. Impossible around me. I have a work trip to TN next week, hoping I can find the BRE Datsun 2-car set, but not holding my breath.

Sainsburys and Smyths are getting good Premiums at last. This was Smyths on my way home from work.

With Sainsburys, the releases differ by store. The one on my way to work for example has the pick-up truck ones, whilst the one in my town had Modern Classics 3.

Smyths has the Toyota set now, too.

It looks like my local Sainsburys has dropped the Premiums, Which is a shame as they seemed to sell really quickly when in stock. Unlike the themed basic cars that don't at £3.25 or the Mario series.

Well that's just pants. The one I visit in Exeter has been out of mainlines for over a week now, so the presence of Premiums is either a glorious anomaly, or a sign of better distribution going forward.

Still no new basics at stores like Walmart, there hasn’t been any dump bins recently either.

I don't know how the marketplace is for you guys down below, but in the Facebook marketplace in my area. People are just buying up mainlines and premiums and reselling for anywhere between $3-20...kind of seems pointless to do that if everyone else is doing it too. When everyone withholds the same stuff from each other with a price tag, everyone's just shooting each other in the foot at the end of the day.

Tried to reason with someone to trade some of my stuff for something he owns, but he just keep turning it down like he's 100% on the losing end. I'm curious to know if that is the case or if he's absolutely clueless about hot wheel values.

Somebody just came up with the idea to buy the hot models & sell them on eBay for a profit. I've been fortunate when I went looking for something I wanted. Found a selling who has a reasonable price per car & combined shipping on them. Of course, I would find that truck in a different color bountifully sitting on a different store rack. Sadly, it seems even the least desirable cars are getting scooped up & sold online. Stupid people ruin a good thing.

I thought Kmart died lol... I haven't seen one since I left California back in 2009
Haven't even attempted looking for any of the more recent HW premiums lately, but I did pick up some Greenlights and a Johnny Lightning at Hobbytown recently...

I haven’t been to a Kmart since the last K day.

I'm not hard for Miuras, but tell us who makes that one with the opening bits, because that looks pretty good if I knew a thing or two about diecasts.

I must be crazy considering I left my apartment at 9PM last night after seeing the news that another collector found the last 2021 Boulevard set about 50 miles north. Was raining where I was, but then changed quickly to snow once I got north and the roads haven't been plowed, so it was a rather sketchy drive. More than enough cars to go around, but I didn't want to take the chance they'd be gone within the next day. (Our stores are open until 11PM in Maine)

Not sure it's something I'd really do again, but the 4Runner and CLK-GTR were my two highly anticipated Boulevard cars for 2021. I wish I could say I'm done for the rest of the year, but another friend found the 2022 Toyota Car Culture set at the local Target. Thankfully he was nice enough to buy my a set.

By the time I got to the store, all the VWs were missing. (Which I'm okay with as I don't care much for that particular casting) I wish that particular Walmart wasn't almost an hour away as I'd go back for you. But it's such a pain of a drive. :indiff:

One of my local stores for comparison 😔
