Another day atty the flea market. guy had a box of 70s and 80s corgi IN PACKAGE. I bid him 17 bucks and he took it!!! I saw some dupes but for 85 cents/piece...I could care less. a lot of utility trucks and the weld west train set for sure i saw. have to take pics tonight.

I'm starting to think I'd be better off at your flea markets than at mine's. Will wait for pics.

As for the Mad Manga bein' everywhere, I'm not surprised. From a normal-persoon view, the car is absolutely awful. Of course we know what it is because our car culture is broader, but for the average joe, it will be like omgwtflol.

I'm totally debating the tuner pack. If i wanna try customizing, i'd totally try make 24/7 into a Takahashi A-Spec replica. :D i noticed the Matchbox Mega Hauler's wheels look similar to the MS01s.

I need to find Mad Manga somewhere... lol

I haven't posted anything new in a while now. Haven't bought much lately.
But what I did buy I finally took pictures of.

Ferrari FF, which seriously needs a dab of black paint on the grills.

And finally my favourite purchase in a long long while, a Mercedes SLS by Siku
(which does need better rims, but that's a Siku thing unfortunately)

Medigo: I like your Alfa & Miata. Nice. 👍 Alfa, I had to buy online!

Earlier, I check for the Weldon open wheel racer on eBay, and they are going for Treasure Hunt, or Super TH type money. I'm convinced that car is not a regular run model. It's early yet, but I'm thinking it's like the Ghost Busters, or at least like A-Team type run. They were more common than TH's I'm sure, but much rarer compared to standard model cars. Damn you Mattel. Actually, I don't even know who Weldon is, so who cares(sorry).
You're back! I thought you had left town with that girl-collector cashier.
Was she hot?

I think we are all sick of that. Personally, I used appreciate their details & more realistic look compared to Hot Wheels. Matchbox & Tomy/Johnny Lightning has been disappointing us lately, and I hope they get back on track really soon.

P.S. That Siku-Benz thing could look really nice with wheel-swap, eh?

I do drop in sometimes, VspecZR, but more to check quickly on the latest action; at least a quick visit to the HW threads or a quick cruise around the GT Forums.
I see lots of activity in here, thanks to you guys who bring something in everyday.
I'll be back later to address the issue of this rumour I'm hearing about a6m5 eloping with a cashier and a boxload of 2012 F1 GTRs.

;)👍

Ok see you later. Yep I told A6 he's a lucky fellow. I heard girl collectors have unique powers.

Went out with a friend to purchase some models. :D Went to a RiteAid (unfortunately we don't have any in our town) to buy scale models. Afterwards went to the flea market. Got him into looking at flea markets, he enjoyed going through the stuff.

Purchases:

Tomica Mazda 3 (50 cents!)
Mercedes Benz CLK DTM
Plastic bag with 3 cars all for a dollar:
Pontiac GTO
Delorean DMC-12!
MB Mercedes Benz CLS
MB Alfa Romeo GTA
Reventon Roadster
Reventon
Gallardo LP560-4 (Green and white)
MX-5 Miata.

Might go back there for more...goodies there. Even though nothing exactly what I'm looking for.

Edit: The Miata my friend gave me. There's more models to go through, but we didn't have that much time.

Nice grab Medigo. :)

I like the Alfa, GTO, the Lambos and the MS3. But i'm amazed at the MS3, a 50 cent Tomica Mazda?!

GT918: Cool tuner pack, I'll pick it up when I see it. I want another Eclipse and Lan Evo X. You can never enough Evos.

Went to my local stores, still no 2012. :( But at least I found a blue Mini Cooper Challenge (24hr racer) and a 911 GT3 for modification and another R32. :D

The Mazda was pretty much loose in a container in the flea market. I'm glad I brought my friend along or else all I'd be looking at is the cars still in the package. Didn't even know there were several containers of loose cars in the flea market until the both of us went there and looked around. Found a 1:24 scale Lamborghini LP640 police model there as well in another section of the building I don't normally look for $6! Flea markets are pretty addicting. :dopey:

The GTO, DMC-12, and CLS were in those little baggies as grab bags. Would it be wrong of me to switch the cars out of some bags to put them all in one I want? :P I mainly went for that one because of the Delorean... Already have a Matchbox CLS and not a big muscle car guy. I may just do that... :mischievous:

Got a few more cars today I thought you might like to see

I had never seen these before so I grabbed one of each model they had. They are Stig Power series cars made by Mondo Motors. There are a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, a Lamborghini Reventon, a Mercedes SL65 AMG Black and a Maserati MC12. All the cars have a little Stig sitting behind the steering wheel.

P.S. That Siku-Benz thing could look really nice with wheel-swap, eh?

Perhaps, but I'm keeping the wheels simply because I like that they're modelled after real Mercedes SLS rims.
If nothing else I might try painting the excess plastic black which should already make it much much better.

Ben!!!!! I take my hat off to salute you . You have The Stig's choice when it comes to 1:64s. A true driver, and collector indeed.

ME WANT!!!!

Why can't they sell Top Gear products here... I'm sure plenty of Americans will pony up the dough for stuff with Top Gear written on it. :indiff: How much are those? In Australian money?

I like Ben's 80's Corvette. 👍 Monza, I would have bought the other day, but it was after I stopped buying(a lot). Stig's cars look very detailed. Nice!

Ah, that makes total sense. 👍

Yeah, Ben never fails to surprise me - man, what a strange and unique collection.

Also 'Ben, when are you going to start on a diorama? Start small - would love to see some of those cars in an 'environment'.

VSpecZR - nice photography on your recent pics; very judicious use of props to make it look like a showroom or dealer.

Hey, I gotta question about this model:

Fast Felion

IMG_0570.jpg

This was one of the cars I got for my nephew. It has this orange tab, button, switch looking thing at the base, so I thought it was going to do something. After opening the car up, we discovered that it doesn't seem to do anything, and we certainly couldn't slide it, push it, or move it in anyway.

Do you guys think it's just a part of the structural design holding something in place? Maybe something utilized when used with some add-on, or track? It's just that I've never seen this on any of the cars I've seen, and would like to find out what purpose it serves?

P.S. That tank-looking car that I also got for him, called "Invader", I thought the turret doesn't even rotate!

I wish they made Matchbox LMPs. What we need is Matchbox 908s, R18s, R15s, Lola-Aston Martins, RS Spyders, R10s, Pescarolos, R8s, Speed 8s, 911 GT1s, BMW LMRs, 787Bs, C9s, XJR-9s, 956s, 917s... If only.

I'm pretty sure the Fast Felion doesn't have any special functions, but I could be wrong.

P.S. That tank-looking car that I also got for him, called "Invader", I thought the turret doesn't even rotate!

It does fire though! :dopey:

Yeah, it sure doesn't look like it does anything, but why is that thing there? Have you guys ever seen anything like that on the bottom? I realize it's kind of a dumb question, but I just got curious.

This one doesn't!

They cost around the $4 - $5 range in Australian dollars so about double a mainline hotwheels or matchbox and I found them in a Big W store about 10mins from home. I would love to do a diorama but I dont have the space to do one now. I have a few ideas I'd like to try out.

Purchases today. :D Apologies for the lighting... :scared:

Flea Market:

Would you guys say this is worth about...under $3? I'm contemplating on buying it. Originally looked at it when it was 11 cents... Now it's almost $2. :indiff: Unless any of you guys are going to outbid me for this. :P

^^Starting off with some great finds.^^

IMG_0503.jpg

1994 Ferrari 5 pk.
The '95 pack contains the same lineup but with normal wheels and added HW tampos. Boring!
This pack has cars with Ferrari emblems and unique rims.

First time this model was Red with blackwalls since 1978 which was it's premiere.
Some of you are probably familiar with its hideous 308 markings. (awful IMO)

1978_2021.jpg

Random cars I picked up for a buck. They were carded, but I opened them. :D

IMG_0505.jpg

Then I headed to Walmart and the purple J-car and white BMW where EVERYWHERE!!!
Needless to say I didnt buy.

Wait...where are those Corgi pictures I took?
(Looks through random folders on HD...)

Crisis averted...found 'em! :sly:

🤬 that's awesome. That first batch in card, $2 for Hall of Fame cars!!! And the black wheels on the Nissan, a steal. Also, the Ferrari 5 pack is awesome, I didn't know about it.

As for the Corgis, even more awesome. The Cement Mixer, School Bus and the Zakspeed Capri are cool, I had never seen the Capri. How much did you say those were?
