the bat came in the same case as the new VW bug and the angry birds car *red bird*
Thees boxes should have been out by now but most stores are a month behind..
What case is the viper, when i went to walmart there's only the viper and the recolor of quicksand?

I still say I don't buy the fantasy cars(that's what I call them :P), but I know I got handful that I just thought looked cool.

For some of us who are part time, half-assing collectors, what hurts us in trying to keep the collection under control is that we all have too broad of range taste in cars. Add that to the different colors/wheels, variants, premium series, Tomica, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, etc., it can get bit out of control. And like Cano noted, you start filling up your totes, and personally, I'm like "WTH am I gonna do with all this stuff!".

Edit: I finally got my Treasure Hunt & Super Treasure Hunt of the Olds 442 today.

I mentioned it before, but I completely spaced that there was a S-TH version of this car and bought the standard TH on eBay. As soon as I realized that there was Super version, I had to go get it. :ouch: Real thing didn't disappoint though. This is the car(standard version) that got me hooked into Hot Wheels initially, and I do love it. :embarrassed:

It's friendly in here. We all just need to appreciate Cano's playful personality, it is all good. :D

Soo true A6, so true.

I've been mostly buying real world cars and trucks from Hot wheels and Matchbox, I only have the 24/7 (FD RX7) and the Mad Magna (bosozoku car based off either a Nissan or Toyota) and I love their design and looks of both of them anyway. But I'm mostly RL cars and just for the colors based off on the real car's colors or some of the racing, police and tuner vinyls.

But I'm thinking of finding some of the 1:64s of the import tuners from Jada and look out for the Tomicas also ( All thanks to R16, Goat, Medigo and A6 :P). And soon back to the 1:32-1:18 scales and looking at a drift RC car based off a Hachi-Roku, S15 Spec-R, FD3S RX7 or a R34 GTR. Heck, even get into my Transformers, Jurassic Park and Resident Evil figures!! But I got important things to focus on and what I listed here for anyone to read would make them go .

But soon.....SOON!!! But for now I'll enjoy my HW and MB cars and for being cheap on a guy's wallet and bank account .

Oh yeah, I was kidding on the Vintage vs. Modern scales also, just putting some spice to the recipie.

Viper and the Bat were in the same case.

Went out this morning to have a look, absolutely nothing new. Only thing bought was a silver Ferrari FF. Since I sent my only other silver one to AOS. Why is it that all of my stores haven't updated. I think I might try to stop by Target again before work. :grumpy: I want that Bentley...

If anyone needs any cars, I'm all ears. Just keep in mind shipping is around $3.50 to $4.00 for basic slow mail + delivery confirmation.

Meh, I think I might just hunt for a scale model of sorts of my Toyota Crown. Might be a hard one... :ouch:

Vintage Tomica. Difficult to find, expect to pay about 15-20 for it. Also look for Tomica Limited versions for 20-40 bucks.

So I asked in the "Ask Mattel" section of HWC if we would be seeing the Honda CRX casting again in the near future, and one of the Hotwheels designers responded with a short but simple answer: "Blvd"

So seems it will be in the Boulevard series next year. :D

Boooo!! :( i'm so wishing it had said "M'line", (more of a chance of me acquiring one).

This "Ask Mattel" thing you speak of, brings me back to what i said earlier about the Escudo Pikes Peak Version rally car... I wonder if this how i can submit the drawing?

At least you're still alive, got dammit. You disappeared for like a month and a half. Wait until I post my stuff to post yours so we can obliterate the supermarket guys with old crap 👍

Took me two years to find a "cheap" mint bw cobra in blue...you had mentioned looking at that cobra lot on ebay...and then 2 days later i found a minty RR version for even less.

I've got four more lots on the way...about 60 cars in total 40 or so were top down pics so hopefully I get lucky with tampo condition, paint and wheels.

Edit: just won two more lots for opening bid. :D
Best deal recently... Scored the bw version of the HW corgi pink mustang cobra on card for 2.25 at flea market. That's a $15 car all day long if you can find one.

When all the cars have arrived...I'll be putting them in my new 1980s kmart showcases and taking pics.

Here's a cool error I found today. An Infiniti G37 with an Aston Martin DBS interior. A few have shown up on HWC.com. Had to buy a 9 pack to get it but whatever, you can't really fake this error.

Left car has the correct interior and the right car has the incorrect DBS interior.

That Infinity actually looks nice. I might have to get one now. :dopey:

CR-X in Boulevard series would be interesting. I look forward to it. 👍

Anyone interested in Garage series or Boulevard cars, start checking your AutoZone parts stores. Apparently they are clearing them out for a penny each. Yeah, exactly $0.01. Just a heads up. :D

Sweet in California too??

I have doubts my local Autozone will have any Hot Wheels... :indiff: Interesting though how the CRX will be coming out as a boulevard in the future. Hope it comes with less chrome. :D

Anyways, I forgot to mention something that I found in TRU. Holy crap the Tomica stock has exploded! Tons of playsets and they now have multipacks! However...as always. I feel like they're pretty overpriced... Can't remember the exact price but there was what looked like a 5-pack that was what I believe might be in the high teens or maybe almost $20? :ouch: What does interest me though is the little "kits" like you get with Hot Wheels Starter Kits. One car (HW had two..), a figure, and a small part of track/road. For just about $6... I want both though, since they have the Lotus Exige and Nissan 370Z Roadster (with folding roof!) in those packs. Would you guys say it's worth it?

For a representation of what I'm on about. Here it is on eBay...even more overpriced.

Any larger scale models of it from any other company? There's nothing really wrong with dishing out money to get a representation of your own car I suppose. But...dunno...

After reading Jason's intel, I was going to hit two Autozones. I've never even visited one before. First one had like two Hot Ones, couple of lamo standard cars, then maybe some premium ones + "Cars 2" cars. They were all full retail, not that I wanted a single car from their something like ten car inventory. I was done with Autozone, I moved on.

I hit Walmart next. They didn't have the dump bin. They also didn't have the Bentley, or any red line cars, but did find four cars there:

IMG_0948.jpg

New Mad Manga & Focus I don't recall seeing before(might have just missed them before) + two Mystery cars. Black Mustang for me, Yur So Fast for my nephew. My nephew requested the car on the artwork, but guess what, that particular car is not part of the line-up. I picked the closest car I could find, and now I gotta trick my little buddy. :dopey:

Exacto. I don't possess madskillz like Jason, so Hot Wheels needs to help collectors like us out.

That Focus and Mad Manga repaint are actually from P cases. Weird you found them without a bin. Wonder if they put it somewhere else in the store, happens all the time.

As I can remember of the stock at my local Autozone. They never had Hot Wheels... I mean several years ago...I feel like I remember seeing a couple at the front desk and that was all. Maybe I will go and look around harder. And avoid ripping my eyes out at the usual cheapo-ricer visual "mods" section. :yuck:

As for that Ford Focus, GRRR want one too! Still have to wait for one of the stores to update... For some reason I feel like the Bentley wasn't really in that case... Either that they're snatched up? :odd:

Well, I mean it was the last time I saw actual Hot Wheels. I have been there...about...several months ago... And never saw any HWs. :P But yeah, I'll have a look.

So that is some kind of confirmation I guess. 👍 As for the store, I did look around the toy area a bit, but there was no dump bin, and the store was a frigging mess. Pallets of crap blocking much of the main aisles. I might hit it again Friday night????

Edit: I. Don't. Believe it. You(Medigo) said something when you were talking about Crown diecast, and it just hit me that you actually bought one. How in the heck did you come across one in the States!? Congrats, Medigo. Vintage Crown is throwback, obscure, vintage, etc., all in a very cool way. I'm sure you are going to have hell of a time trying to get it running right, but much props to you man. 👍

Doubt you'll find more than a handful at any individual store.

As far as finding them. Check the ends of isles, and for little stands that are in the middle of the main isle at the front or sides of the store. It's just like hotwheels hunting at grocery stores. Don't just check the toy isle, you have to walk the store and look everywhere.

Haha, I was a tad confused as to why you were saying "You have good taste," when I started posting those links of the diecast Crowns. Good taste? I thought? I actually bought one. Go ahead and look over at the thread for more detailed pictures of the vehicle. :P It'll be a fun long term project. And yes, even I didn't even know they were in the states. Until I came across it on craigslist one night out of boredom.

Thanks for the tip! 👍 Wasn't sure at first, worried I'd look like an idiot just walking around aimlessly looking before asking an employee. Never really bothered with grocery stores... One of my local ones had the cardboard display stand that was already empty by the time I stopped by (dragged along with my mother).

Just ask at the counter when you walk in. You could save yourself a minute or two. I'd never have found it without help.

Just. Wow. 👍

Nice car. Good luck. 👍

Edit: I couldn't find any diecast Whale Crown, but I think this might be the Playart version of your Crown(coupe). Expensive, but looks cool.

How's the situation with the HW Skyline R34s? Do they have a large quanity of them and are they all silver or both the Active Silver and Bayside Blue?

Nice!!! :D I can't wait to see them. Maybe I should ask HW if they are gonna keep the R34 Skyline, GTR R35, Hakosuka KPGC10 and the Dodge Viper ACR out.

Nice find M Power. Now that one will stand out in a field of G37s. Now where's the Aston DBS with the Infiniti's interior?
