Lol right? We all know the 1:64 scale

I always thought that the '62 Mustang Concept was smaller than 1:64.

Either that, or the 328i is slightly bigger:

Oh but there must be. If there wasn't, then you wouldn't have went to the trouble of covering your car with money or vice-versa.

Not really. The money was just there, and that is the only open place in near my computer where I can shoot.

R1600 - if you don't mind me asking - where and how did you buysthose? Good pickups - though the Supra stripe would come off if I had it.

These actualy make me want to collect HotWheels, now!

Dun, Dun, Dun . . . another one bites the dust.

Okay some tips for a beginning collector. First off - don't tell me you don't have a single Hotwheel - dang, every guy, and the occasional gal, has a HW or two stashed around. Grab those and put them aside - you are now a collector. If you've never owned any - Oh! Boy . . Brave new world.

Start by trying to decide what cars you like in real life - Mustangs? Supras? Ford GTs? Yellow Convertibles? Brit cars? Farm machines?

Limit yourself to maybe $5.00 or $10.00. Pick a store that you know to have these cars - or one in which you may have seen them - give yourself an hour or so - then go browse. This is happy time.
You may even get more ideas as to what to collect as you view the pegs.
If the cars are discounted or on sale - even better.
I rarely buy cars for my collection at regular price - I wait for sales, look at clearance, liquidation, and charity houses, and for serendipitous pick-ups from yard sales. The cheaper I can get it below the original asking price, the better. I have cars bought at $1.99, that have appreciated to $10.00+, or packages purchased at $2.99 that are now $29.99+ on most Trading sites.
That's just the investment part of it. You could elect to pay any price you want if you really must have the car in your collection.

Once you have selected enough cars to lose the cash you brought in to spend - leave the pegs! Staying around will induce rapid bouts of DVA that will bring you to your knees (literally) in front of the pegs, with a racing heart.
If you see any rat-faced, crabby, extremely old guys in front of the pegs - do not talk to them. They may stare daggers, or grab HWs out of your hand and dash out of the Store.
The is also a Guy in Mexico reputed to do this sort of thing - grab and run - extreme cases of DVA.
If there is a guy in a Captain Cardiac cape and uniform in the area, leave the vicinity at once. One never knows what may happen if Cardiac is near cars of any possible value, and your heart-attack may escalate.

Go home with the 1/2 dozen or so of cars you have bought, open packages slowly, savoring the colours, lines, and textures of your automotive beauties and dream of when your collection will one day be in the thousands. It will come. If you build it.

Alternatively, you can just go the eBay, with a pile of cash, and buy yourself an instant collection of a thousand cars - but you'd better be prepared to break the bank. Scalpers most often sell for way above the price it was originally bought.

Good Luck with your new-found addiction, and welcome to the discussion - keep it on topic and you'll be in for lots of fun and learning about this hobby.

Cheers,
Harry.

Pics tomorrow of the hw35s....

And maybe some more of my HW HydraRacer

The HydraRacer is very 'Cloak and Dagger' with a hint of Campbell's Bluebird thrown in. Question: why the #5? Any special reason? And did you have to travel to El Segundo to design the car, like Danica Patrick?

I saw the comments just now(@photo bucket). You are riot.

Oooops  Unless that's a compliment - in which case - back at ya!

I've been thinking of taking pictures of the cars I have in exhibition. that's like the creme of the creme of my stuff... at least what I can put there. I'll eventually get to it.

Do it. Do it. Do it.

Ok when I get home ill do a showcase of my stuff aswell!

Better tie Cardiac up. I'm leaving town.

Well, you know what they say: You can never have too many Ford Mustangs.

I have lots of spare Mustangs - come down to the Clubhouse one day - and we'll talk ;)

Photon, yes I did have to travel to el Segundo to design it, I also got a tour of evrything and I mean EVERYTHING...

Ok pics of my collection soon!

I got a purple Ferrari F50 Roadster that's in a collector's guide I found. Apparently, if it's in mint condition (which mine is nowhere near) it's worth a whopping $2.

Just pointing out that they are hitting stores soon, I personally haven't seen them yet. You could buy those on eBay right now if you want to pay 3x as much for them. ;)

xD ace, i honestly thought the same thing when i saw that. Does not take away from the cool factor at all! Would be really interesting to see how they mass-produce and finish up each car. Gotta be honest and say i'm jealous, but i am very glad you've recovered.

@quiksilver: lol i bought the two lime wheel castings thinking they're worth a lot, but after some research i've come to the conclusion they're worth more to me than they're worth to others

I can't even remember what they came with originally(remember, I'm old), but that actually looks pretty good.

Edit:

Also, BIG thanks to Jason for mailing this little car my way(sorry for the crap pic :P):
