I have the Citroen, but been looking for that damn Mini.

I can sell you the one I took apart... with its wheels too obviously, just no card.

Hey AOS-, love that dune daddy you posted back there:tup:

N-n-n-n-not the Treasure Hunts???!

edit: Ho ho ho, you guys want to hear something funny? Jason's parcel arrived today and during the time he's been shopping, I already got hold of half the cars he got me already. Now I got 2 extra 599xx, Curiousity, and 2 extra Bentleys  Hmm what to do with the extras.... what to do... maybe I should add a missile launcher on top of the Curiousity, with caterpillar treads and a green camo paintjob.

But all the cards are cut just like I asked. I appreciate your dedication cutting it all around the mystery machine, Jason, but cutting the top half off is more than enough. Thanks.

This is how it ends:

Post of the year.

Forget eBay Cano, supermarket stuff is our jurisdiction. You just send them over to your favorite "supermarket stuff" collectors. Remember, I'm the nice one, never call you names, except the nazi thing.

Naw. In fact, it's rare that I pick up any cars at the supermarket. Of course every time I go I stop by and check the pegs, but I usually grab the new stuff in downtown, there's a big-ass commercial section there, and there is a street dedicated entirely to toys. Cheaper than in stores, and loads of sellers have Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. sometimes you get lucky and find guys that just imported a bunch of Johnnys or Greenlights, but the prices are steep most of the times. At the supermarket I mostly grab the rare stuff that sellers over at the toy street put inflated prices on, such as THs or,for instance, the three KITTs I grabbed the other day.

Ace - fabulous collection. As the Generale himself mentioned, that's a lot of money in there. In fact that's time invested in there that has now turned into money. Great selection, I must say, quite unique. I recommend you go through this whole thread when you have the time; there are actually some very stunning collections in here, posted in the past - some that actually matches the caliber of yours, and that may impress you.

I don't think there's a collection here that matches his. From a pure collecting point of view, the guy has us all beaten to pieces, from the redlines to the proto cars to the convention stuff and all that, he has the best collection in here by far. If you start trowing in personal views -like mine of all-loose- then you can warp that a little, but only then.

Do you guys think you're overpaying? $2.50NZD for a shop car (works out that with the 4 for $10 deal). :grumpy:

Oh got damn how are you even still doing this?

Had to make them all fit somehow.

Didn't meniton or take a picture yesterday, but I also bought 2 more Nostalgia 8 Crates.... they're going to be donor cars because those wheels are THE wheels for the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe. Am I selling those 8 Crates afterwards? Likely not. :P
I was thinking of installing the other set in a 427S/C Cobra but it's got size 2 wheels on both front and back whereas the 8 Crate's got Size 1 in the front and 2 in the back. Yeah, I numbered off the sizes, don't know if there is an official size number, but if anyone wants to play along, size 1 is the default size.

Well thank you very much, but im trying to trade out those additional conv cars

Aos, sincere advice here: the mainline Cobra Daytona Coupe is what I consider one of the worse HW castings of all time, it's proportions are absolutely screwed and has next to no detail, it 🤬 sucks.

If you really want a Daytona Coupe that kicks ass, put a little money in a Hot Wheels 100% version, you can get it in individual black boxes or ina set with two or 4 cars, it is dead-nuts correct in proportions and opens it's hood. It rocks the socks.

Well I found one on eBay for $12....more than I'd like to pay for a single car, really. Guy also had a RAW JL one too, but that's so far all I wanted from that guy's store.

You won't believe this Andy, but I just took this picture to show you that I have this that I would be more than happy to add this to whatever it is that you would like from me. 👍

Another brilliant trade happening for me shortly.

Trading this: (Mustang body error)

For this: ($uper Focus RS) :dopey:

Ooh, that Focus RS does look really nice.

Good thing I'm not into the eBay thing or else I'd be out of money soon with thoughts like that...

Is just the tampo on the Mustang not placed right?

Wrong body. It has the body (casting) from the 2012 Boss 302 Mustang. You can tell by the larger rear wheel opening, and the mirror cast on the side. The actual 2010 Mustang GT body has no mirrors and was designed to use all small wheels. There are quite a bit of these out there if you have the patience to look for them. I also have what is supposed to be a '12 Boss 302 that actually has the GT body.

Edit: Here's the Boss. You can see it has no mirrors and the rear wheel is jammed in the smaller fender well.

How in the world do you catch these things?

For real? :dopey: Wait, what else did I want from you?

How in the world do you catch these things?

That one is fairly simple. Once you know to look for it, all you have to do it glance at where the side mirrors are supposed to be. If you find a Boss 302 without mirrors, or a '10 GT with mirrors, then you found the error. 👍

Helps to keep an eye on the Variations / Errors forum at HWC.com.

Tempted to go out to the flea market today, but I have a feeling the pegs still haven't been updated... Of course, every time I think that, it turns out to be. :boggled:

Anyways, I'm still thinking of contacting the seller in my town who put up the craigslist ad, despite them not returning my email. I might call them... Ugh, I'm tempted, but at the same time really unsure. :ouch:

Both actually. I don't go through every car during every visit unless I'm looking for a specific car. Like right now, the Civic Si (Blue w/flames) has an all orange wheel variation that I've been looking for, so when I go to a store I haven't been to in a while or ever, I make sure to look at every Civic they have and ignore everything else. Sometimes an error or variation will stick out like a sore thumb even if I'm not looking for it.

...I see, but what you described is different, since you know what to look out for. Say you weren't out for variations or known errors, you'd have to check each car individually, which is extremely time-consuming.

Anyway:

Notice anything unusual about the last photo?

Maybe. That's why I said it's best to keep up on what to look for. :sly:

But if you're not a variation/error collector, why bother?
