Since I don't have a car anymore, stopped at a couple stores on the way home. Nothing at either, but found a bunch of people selling Hotwheels and other diecast in the parking lot of the grocery store. Guess they do that every Friday night. A lady had a car I need for $5 so I'll go back next week and get it.

That's pretty cool, wish we had those kind of things happen in our area. :dopey: Anything that may be of interest to people here?

No idea. Lots of variety.

Has anyone actually ever seed a HW chaperal 2D casting? Saw one at a flea market and snached it right up...

I'd say they're easy enough to get ahold of.

Oh, id never seen one before!

You might still be able to find one. I've seen lots of 2011 20-packs at TRU still laying around with these in them.

If I could, I'd make you a list and send you some money. :P But I can't... :indiff:

"Computer-generated", full term is CGI "Computer-generated Image", but that's usually used to describe CAD work, 3d digital models like characters and cars ina video game or movie effects. If it's a still-image that's been edited on image-editing programs like photoshop, I rather it be called photo-manipulation since that better describes it than CGI since CGI more or less means something you make from scratch.

Ah, thanks.

Exactly. The car looks real, but background looks CG. Either way, it's very cool. Can you point me to the post SVX?

I don't really want to sift through the pages to find it, but IIRC, the post was done by speed_junkie. Here's the full size.

I don't believe it's a CG/CGI picture, just been edited on Photoshop I think.

I forgot to comment on it, but that STi looks so much better without the graphics. I'd be preaching to the choir, of course. :dopey:

Parking lot sale of Hot Wheels sounds very cool. When I first immigrated to the U.S. in 1987, I remember seeing a lot of that. Not Hot Wheels, but t-shirts, flags, etc. I'm not sure why I very rarely see them anymore. Damn shame!
I'm at my local antique store and they have some new cars.
Here are the four larger MBs they have.
I want this $15 Lesney MB firetruck so bad, but I don't have that much cash on me. It's in superb condition.
Sweet race car(F1). 👍

Looks amazing in full size. Thanks a bunch dude!

Edit: I forgot, interesting odds & ends + customs.

ordered another one even and will be painting this car.

If you're talking about the one Medji posted a pic of, then no.

Nice avatar, SVX.

For a moment it looked like the CORGI Weber Ferrari F1 I have in my collection but the blow-up really brings into stunning focus what it is, as well as the great sense of speed. Quite a rush. Great pic, and good pick.

I got these today.

And lastly the Majorette Corvette that I used to have when I was younger and had wrecked. The Majorette Golf that I used to have is on its way from Germany and I also managed to find some more cars from my childhood on ebay and they are on their way as well. The next car I want from my childhood is a Matchbox Ford Escort Van that was a light purple and from memory it was in a Cadbury livery.

The one I had when I was youger wheels had stopped turning because they were jammed with dirt from my brother and I playing with it outside in the dirt on our own custom rally tracks.

I lied, I actually didn't have a Majorette corvette like that one. I thought it was the same because it has the same wheels mine has. But the off-road rally track sounded cool. Tell me it had jumps like Dirt Bike racing.

It would of had jumps just cant remember how big they were. It was just an area in the back yard my brother and I played in. In went from being rally tracks to zoos to shopping centres. It just depended on what we wanted on that day.

Thanks mate. 👍

I'm going to be back in that area tomorrow again, so I think I'll pick up that Lesney firetruck Cano. I trust in your judgement. 👍

But this is what else the antique store had! A gorgeous Matchbox collection.
Click on the picture to see it in fullscreen and the prices of the cars!

Of course the one I was most interested in was also the most expensive. :grumpy:

The junk they were selling for $2 a pop! :yuck:

These here are all Walmart purchases (girlfriend's are packaged) exceppptttt...

...for this neat little Lamborghini.

Wh...what's that? Is that a HW Racing for $3?

Bu...but, but, what's that? Did I get that HW Racing for $1? :mischievous:

I want that SVT Raptor... Wish I started collecting when it was first released. :ouch:

Pretty awesome getting that HW Racing car for $1. :D:tup:

Was there any more of those older HWs? I bought a few of those recently off eBay.

Also, what's that purple ride chilling with all the Matchboxes?

I got my childhood car in today as well. At the bottom of this pic is the OLD Tomica Lincoln Mark. I was a toddler when I had this. It's amazing what random & little things you sometime remember from when you were so young:

You also see two super treasure hunts. Chevelle, I coveted since the beginning, S2000 is the one I felt I got screwed on(creased card). Two Lamborghinis are package deal from a seller on ToyPeddler. One is Tony's Pizza/Hot Wheels promo, other seems to be a old Matchbox. *note* I paid $33 for the Lincoln, most I ever paid for a single car. It says "excellent box". Box is excellent, but it has writings on it. I'm not gonna go "neutral" on the guy, but I will rate him low on his 'description'. Screwed again, but at least the price was good.

P.S. Johnny Lightning Porsche, out-of-package edition, because the sellers are too proud of it!

Late, for, the party!
Late for- late for the party!
:P
He's got super cool Javelin & new '70 Celica though!

YES!

I usually do ok. Honestly a lot of stuff that gets posted here doesn't interest me. :P

And vice versa, I guess. But that's what makes collecting interesting; that one man's meat is another man's poison.

Ben - those packs have some good cars in them! Uh . . . what do you plan to do with the ones you don't like? Do you actually open the boxes?
Also - zoos and shopping centers? That you drove your cars around, or what?

Damn you McZachen for posting that Lotus.:grumpy:

Ill keep those 10 packs sealed for now. When my brother and I made the zoo it was really a heap of rocks from the garden used to make pens for our plastic animals and we drove the cars around it. The shopping center we made out of old cardboard boxes and was pretty simple. It was burnt (with parental supervision) when we got bored with it. The rally tracks were a course we made up it the dirt and drove the cars around. There were plenty of fun hours doing that.

Ah! That sounds like so much fun. Why do we grow up into grumpy old adults . . .

I have a lot of fun with my cars, too, even at this age, but when my kids join me, it gets pretty boisterous. The drag strip I made (with a slight incline) that we use to race and test cars out actually takes them away from their addictive video-games.
Alright, I know. This is a video-gaming Forum. And I play video-games, too; if I don't get even a small fix of it every day, then it's a day I haven't really had any fun - but it's nice to get our hands on 3-dimensional reality sometimes.
Handling these cars, playing with them, examining every detail - this engages a lot more senses than does a video-game.

Hey Spacegoat Magic, do you know that there is actually a 'Car Porn' thread on GTPlanet? Some good turn-ons in there, too. GT-R heaven.

I was wondering - what particular model of car do you guys collect the most of?

I just discovered a few days ago that I had loads of Mustangs. Not that they're my favourite car or anything - maybe they make a lot of variations.

I do focus on buying any one I don't have, though. Yet it is Bone Shakers I really like, and old Fords, and Cobras, Fieros, 'Vettes, GT-Rs, VWs, any Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches, F1s, Beetles, HW Livery Cars, Patrol Cars, Commercial Vehicles, Agricultural and Construction Machines, Aircraft and Spacecraft, Ships and Hovercraft. . um. OK.

I'm not sure - but I think I read Ace saying he had over 100 Corvettes.

How about the rest of you? What's the model you have the most of?

EDIT: I'm talking 1/64s, of course - not other scales, though maybe a combined figure would be interesting, too.

Dodge Challengers as my mother, father, and I own one.
It's a red 1970 R/T convertible; red interior, white top, white side stripe; 383 Magnum, 4 speed pistol-grip with a 3.55 rear end (:grumpy:).

Oh yeah, I'm fully aware of that. 👍

Bit hard to say, considering my collection is barely a year old. It would have to be Mustangs as well, I'm not really a fan. But for some reason, I always seem to pick at least one up, every time I'm out. :boggled:
