McZachen -Are you serious? What a rush that would be.

I keep thinking about what it would be like to drive the Lotus you posted, at Monza, IRL - what a rush that would be. Not racing - just driving it as fast as it was capable of being driven at, around and around . . .

I last counted eight Chargers and eight Challengers in my open collection. Not sure about packaged. Or what's been thrown into the customizer.

Spacegoat - it's a conspiracy. I knew it. There's something about Mustangs that HW better pony up on.

I forgot to mention one tiny detail...
It's in pieces in down in the garage.
Well, it was my grandfather's and he realized he wouldn't get around to restoring it any further than the rotisserie he had the body and paint work done on.
So in its current state it has all the body panels, the front and rear sub frames and about half of each end's suspension on it. We had the engine completely rebuilt ($$$) and hopped up a little with a hotter cam to have it idle rougher. Power/drivetrain, interior, or wheels.
We have 80% of its parts, it's just a matter of time and more money to finish restoring it.
Yes, I like to brag about our's as well as my grandfather's other classic cars. :P

Oh yes I know! I wish I lived in the time to experience motorsports in the 1960's; especially F1!

Here we go:

You can brag about your real cars in the Auto Forum; just make sure you can back up your claims
They're usually slinging Lambos and Ferraris out there though.. . .

As for this HW car - it needs to have its wheels ripped off. And that vent opened.

But for now - I guess I'll just take my Alfa Zagato for a spin.

I do wonder how many cars we would all have if we put our collections together.
Funny little thought I had earlier.

1500?
2000?
more?

I alone have about 250 + and obviously Cano has too many.
I recall AOS saying something around 300 cars, but that may have been a while ago. Don't know about everyone else though.

It would deffinatly be more than 2000 cars. My collection alone would have to be in the region of 1000 cars. If you count cars bigger than hotwheels it would be even more and then you have Cano who would be in the 2000 region im guessing.

Considering the fact that there are at least 160 self-confessed HotWheel collectors at GTP, (at this point in time, anyway,) I would think a huge bunch, Apok.

We had a discussion a short time ago that brought out these confessions, too:

I have a recorded 774 cars.

I've accumulated 182 cars. That's not counting the remains of my childhood collection, which is probably 100+.

I have a lot of cars:

Good Question - I would estimate my collection to be around 2000+ (since last count)

I *think* I may have hit the 4,000 car mark quite some time ago, and I'm now approaching the 5,000 car mark REALLY quickly. I really need to ponder on this, you know.

Or maybe I don't.

I recon I'm in the area of 1,300 - 1,700, but buying has slowed in the past year or so, I bought everyone out of their good stuff at the flea market a while back. :(

My rough count is over 300, but probably not quite 400. I also have loose cars though, which I toss into this medium tin-can. I'm guessing there's probably around forty in there, so grand total of probably right around, or just over 400!

I was wondering - what particular model of car do you guys collect the most of?

I don't want to say that I have a lot of Chevys, Dodges, and Fords. I have the most of those, but that's because that's what Mattel mainly dishes out. I usually collect the next colour available each year, so I have multiple colours of assorted cars. A better question to ask me is what cars I'd buy more of despite already having some would be:

-'70 Road Runner ('98 casting)
-Porsche 911 GT2 RS
-Chevrolet 1955 Boulevard
-Fangula
-Fish'd & Chip'd
-Lotus Exige
-Mini Cooper
-Shelby Super Snake
-Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe
-Studebaker Champ (for its wheels :sly:)
-Super Comp Dragster
-Surfin' School Bus
-Yur So Fast

We're talking almost 2200-3000 here. I alone have 800+ thanks to having no money management skills.

My count is messed up because my folder says there are 800 something pictures, but some of them were customized and then another picture is taken of that and moved into my Customs folder so there's an overlap count from time to time... but there definitely is 800+ cars thanks to the Stealth Project.

I alone have over 1500 Hot Wheels and yes i did count them all by hand!:sly: Altbough i haven't done a complete recount in a few years and it is probly even higher than that!

Really unsure if it's worth driving up north to go to this "Ultimate Yard Sale" event that's about half an hour away. $5 for admission and I don't know if there might be any hot wheels. (Should be, considering these events are mainly for collectors) Also...kinda wish there was someone I knew who could come along. :indiff:

Don't mind going alone, it's just that it's not as enjoyable as taking a trip with a friend. If only most of my friend's weren't out of state. :ouch:

Edit: Nevermind...turns out I woke up too late and the place closes....soon.

As for which model I buy most of, I have no idea. I think the biggest attraction are the JDM classics(510/Bluebird really reeled me into the hobby), but they don't make that many. I guess it must be a MOPAR, or GM muscle cars.

Don't forget my 15-20! :dopey:
Pics or it didn't happen! :P

After I'm done being held hostage at this birthday party I'll take a few pics. I think I might have a few others over at my mom and dad's house... for the last 14 years!

I have around 400 to 500 in my collection, probably. Counted years ago before I got serious with collecting and had about 350~?

I try to collect cars that were made IRL, and prefer not to have any stickers on them unless they look good.

Turns out those Jada tuners were actually...not Jada. :scared: On the bottom it says Kentoy and Boley... Bought them anyways, for some reason I still had some interest in them. Some of them had rubber tires and others had plastic tires.

Man, I need a lot like that! I saw the Express Lane, too. 👍

I somehow missed the Elise, and that is nice. Too bad about that collector in Canada missing that one. kawaisoo.... lmao

Nanda to?!

:P

You mean nanda yo?

Better take cover, a6m5. Was it my imagination, or did I see a rush of people come out of the DVA Closet, in the last few pages?

Well - I had to go shopping today for new winter jackets for my kids - so - yup.
Daddy is busy in the HW aisle. Go pick your jackets. I'll be there. Soon. Like never.

Yep, I have a large number of cars almost reaching 500 soon( I have maybe around 360-420 cars now.)

I'm mostly a Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Mazda, GM, Mopar, Ford, Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Caterham Citroen, and Lambo guy, I have a large base with cars from these manufactures. But I always aim for more JDM, Aussie and Euro cars the most.

And welcome to the club TB, didn't know that the moderators collected as well.

@Photon: Woah! You speak Japanese also?!?!👍 ;)👍

Well, even though it's the next day (I passed out yesterday around 11 at night from spending time with my mom on her birthday, kinda beat though), I went out yesterday to get some things from the store. The bin was still there, but decreasing very slowly since I didn't visit the stores in the past weeks. Then me and my older niece stumbled into the HW speeders (the cars in those small bags with a small window) and began searching them for the white FB RX7. And after several minutes of checking and spotting some of them opened , I finally found TWO RX7s and the yellow Aventador and a Victory Red ZL1, Formula Red S2K AP1, and a blue 911 GT3 997 for modding.

But I tell you guys, if you want those two, start feeling your opened RX7s and Aventadors (or the others) and get to know how they feel, especially in those smaller bags and push them closer to the window viewer and look. That's how I found them, loving that FB RX7! :D

Pff, just goes to show how bad I am at remembering numbers.

I just collect whatever I like. Mostly European cars though.
I'll buy any BMW I find as I'm a big fan (if my avatar doesn't give that one away). I also have plenty of Ferrari's, but that's due to Hot Wheels regularly releasing them. Most of the american cars I have now are from my pre-collecting phase where I got the cars as toys. If I buy an american muscle car there's probably something I like in particular about it.

Well, went to the store and picked some Team HW cars...

4ward speed
Fiesta

and 2 boulavard Porsche 914s one for the car, one for the wheels!
