Teehee. Naughty word under the N in Parkson

After we moved, i got a new shelf, and put them all up again.

Very cool stuff for the most part Torque, I did not know some of the cars you featured here. Most Import Racing stuff is not my cup, but I can apreciate how well detailed some of those were. I like the muscle cars, though, haha

I didn't know the Castline Detroit line. Time to e-bay.

Here a few cars of various brands which I had lying around, theres many more in the attic. Most of my stuff is from the 80's and 90's but I have some from the 70's.

So i decided to try a fun little project today, Restoring my old JADA import racer 1/24 scale model skyline GTR BNR34, Taking the scratched paint and horrifically ugly interior and transforming it from show car to a Proper Tokyo Wangan RACER!.

So first i had to take it apart. Never knew they had so many parts.
0917101529.jpg

There are way more parts then this, even the calipers on the slotted and drilled brake rotars were separate, Impressed me for a collectable that cost under 15$ new.

Interior, seats will be all red, leaving the belts black, interior will be all black, taking out the amplifier and moving it to the trunk. took out the DVD screen, as well the PS2 controller.

0917101529b.jpg

The body, all heavilly damaged, no the roof is not matte, i had to peel the paint off to make it even...which went horribly wrong.
Basically painting it a RACEY "Black" love black cars..

0917101529a.jpg

This RB26DETT beauty. no, i didn't custom paint all of this, it came from JADA like this, Where the engines in other cars were chrome/gold... This car had a properly detailed engine, i wont be painting this. but i will be painting all the engine hoses, radiator housing etc black, they were chrome i took them out. they are sitting one the left side of the car in the picture above.

0917101513.jpg

The original rims, they are VOLK TE36 rims, But there chrome... alittle to bling for this JDM freeway racer project so im going to paint them flat black.

Look forward to more, and the finished product!

Nice Morris Minor, I've got the same type:

I suspect it was a "free from a cereal packet" type of deal or something! It's quite different to other Corgi models, at least compared to older ones. Very nice casting and quite narrow wheels. Presume it's a mid-nineties one.

I think I used to have a Volvo like that too. If I remember, it's really heavy for such a small model.

OMG with the Transit and TracAvant, I did not know that Matchbox models. Great score dude, awesome for the price!

I have the Pacer but it's gonna see restoration, it's all covered in marker. mine's the red one, tough. I think the blue one is the really rare version, so you REALLY scored.

I was dead chuffed when I found the Traction, it's a really nice model and it goes great with my 1/24 Bburago one :) The Pacer just made me smile when I saw it, so for 50p I couldn't resist. Didn't know it was rare, had a little look on the internet for it when you said that and the red one does appear to be more common. Mine is in quite good condition too, a bit playworn but certainly not damaged or too scuffed.

Great project. Perhaps taking the rear spoiler away will make it even look more badass.

That Focus looks good with those decals.

Yeah the paint job is really nice and lush on that one. Its a good livery design.

I can't remember when I got it but im sure it was ages ago, it just says Corgi made in Great Britain on it. Its a very nice reproduction as you said, quite a charming unique model.

The Volvo is quite weighty but not overly heavy, was yours a Majorette one? Its has an excellent suspension system which feels really realistic.

Robin.

I recognise the Morris Minor, and am almost certain it was a 'promotional' model given away with cereal/petrol/something else. I'm also fairly certain that it was one of four such models in the promotion, the others being a Mini, VW Beetle and Citroen 2CV I think. I'm sure I have them all somewhere and now that the holidays are over, and all the guests have gone home I can get back to digging through the attic.

I will, I have always thought that the Jada cars have too much of a NOPI nights car to them (just as their muscle cars, ugh), so it will be cool to see how they end up looking like a proper hardcore car.

`Took some pictures last night of my growing collection, and picked up a few goodies as well.

Hellow and welcome, to my collection!

The bottom, cars from my childhood.

Hoo boy... don't have my notebook around now, but if I did you'd be utterly inundated. I've probably got over 70 cars (most of them Hot Wheels, but there's a few Maisto/Matchbox cars lurking around there). I'll post the list later, but still, my collection pales to some of the huger ones.

man this post has been dead for quite a while. Cannot let that happen, so here's some epicness that just recently fell into my hands:

hws105.jpg

and one by one, of course!

first is this neat Matchbox/Lesney Ford Capri from the late 70s, in almost pristine condition:

hws088.jpg

hws087.jpg

hood opens, it's all there:
hws086.jpg

hws083.jpg

An early Mean Green Passion with widewhites:
hws094.jpg

hws095.jpg

At freaking last, the Hot Wheels Peterbilt tanker from the very early 80s in red, with the metal container complete with plastic hoses, cost me usd4 but absolutely worth it, it's like freaking new.
hws092.jpg

hws084.jpg

hws085.jpg

Then, an awesome France-made Matra Simca Bagheera from Majorette with the rally decals in quite good shape:
hws096.jpg

rear glass opens to reveal lugage:
hws097.jpg

hws076.jpg

hws077.jpg

Also from Majorette, a France-made Mercedes Unimog from Air France with the sliding... err... thing you use for carrying stuff, in absolute immaculate shape:
hws102.jpg

hws103.jpg

down...
hws073.jpg

up!
hws074.jpg

Decals in the removable cannopy are minty, it is freaking difficult to find this one with the cannopy and the sliding thing:
hws075.jpg

These two are the newest of the bunch, a 2009 Neet Streeter $uper treasure hunt (the 35 Ford with rubber tires) and the green Matchbox Londoner from a few years ago that had escaped me... now I only have to find the golden one:
hws104.jpg

A very rare, and almost mint Efsi (from Holland) Model T pickup... they have made this casting in a LOT, a LOOOOT of different versions, this is my only one... so far:
hws099.jpg

hws100.jpg

Notice the crank-start at the bottom of the grille shell, and rubber tires on wood-spoke wheels:
hws101.jpg

hws070.jpg

hws071.jpg

I love this thing:
hws072.jpg

I immediately fell in love with this late 70s Playart London Bus in an amazingly good shape, with the decals intact!!! It is a very, very vvvvveeeeeeeery difficult piece, and it usually pops without the decals and in horrid shape. This is quite minty... and it well should be, cost me usd7. Still, bargain.
hws062.jpg

hws063.jpg

Other side also has them decals:
hws064.jpg

hws065.jpg

hws067.jpg

hws068.jpg

And last but absolutely not least, the star of the bunch, an stupid-cool mid-60s Lesney Mercedes coach in indecently good shape, that I got in exchange of a $TH rockster!!!! I cannot believe what people can give for those things.
hws054.jpg

hws059.jpg

hws060.jpg

hws061.jpg

I love this got dang design:
hws056.jpg

Lower part is metal, upper white part is plastic. If you can find this car, it usually comes with a broken post or two. Mine is complete (:
hws057.jpg

hws058.jpg

more later, when I actually have time to pop picz.

Awesome stuff as usual Cano. You sure do get some great finds!
I have that Majorette unimog in an army livery. I have two actually, but one has the canopy broken... or one of the teeth that hold the canopy in place. And it doesn't have the forklift thingy on front.

yeah, thre are several Majorette Unimog variations, and not all of them have something at the front. I think your army unit doesn't have anything. I have another one of the fire department that has some kinf of snow plow.

Huge surprise at wallmart tonight, i walk in, and i find, TOMICA, city sets.....i was exstatic...but didnt snap any pictures...but, i did come home and google in tomica america, and....THERE BACK IN THE USA
there bring the hole line here including limiteds and vintage limited! so happy!

oooooooooooooohhhhh.... interesting!!!

will they make it to Mexico for next year??? Heck if they make the jump south of the border I'll go crazy.

At least I hope this will make Tomicas more affordable around here. I'd gladly put my dirty paws on some Limiteds.
