I'm just saying that from what I have seen (wrong or not), Mainline Limited Edition seems to be what they're meant to be called.

I know, frankly i have never heard of such things like that to be honest. One thing i have noticed is that even after they changed it to new models, i still seen first edtions on the smaller blisters.:boggled:

I'm sort of used to "Super Treasure Hunts", but it is sort of silly. Mainline Limited Editions is just downright lame, at least to me. Cano & Jason(unofficial Super Mods) can ban me from this thread, and I still wouldn't call them that.

If it were up to me, I'd call them something good & simple, like "Big Mac". Not "Chalupa" though, because when you say "I dropped a Chalupa", you are not talking about Super THs.

Or maybe Mattel gave up all hope on the name Mainline Limited Edition because no one called it that and just decided to go with what the community calls them as we know as Super Treasure Hunt.

I have NEVER heard Mattel call them that. Do you have an official source, other than the link you posted to another one of your posts? And STD isn't an official source...

I saw it somewhere else, I know it did. I'm still trying to find it.
I wouldn't claim something like this if it flat out wasn't true.

Since you guys don't want to drop this.....

Google results for:

"Hot Wheels" "Mainline Limited Edition" - 16,500 results

"Hot Wheels" "Mainline Limited Editions" - 3 results

"Hot Wheels" "Super Treasure Hunt" - 2,170,000 results

And this seems to speak in volume, at least to me: 2012 Super Treasure Hunt Set

Edit: What do you have to do to join the Red Line Club? How much?

Man, if i could be a redline club member, i would!:dopey: I have wanted to be one for a while, especially when i saw that Sky Show Deora they posted, i wanted that thing so badly! Pity i can't become one.:indiff:

Bringing the $ sign into the name is cliche Marketing - though it seems to work. The fact that you can actually buy on demand, the treasure you should be 'hunting' for is also Marketing.

Zach - I get your point; you obviously got mine :

Does this mean we don't trust South Texas Diecast Collectors again? Ah! The immaculate veracity of this glorified conference-text/electronic encyclopedia we call the Internet.

Very soon there will be $uper-Duper THs, the regular THs will become common $THs and the Mainlines (or Basic cars) will become 'Exclusive THs'.

Then the rest will be called 'Classic' line.. . .

Buyer beware. Happy huntin'!

I don't know man.... Texas is a pretty big state. In the Southern Texas though, I'd imagine they may have a Spanish name for these super limited treasures......

Ya know, I was just thinking about how cool the recolors of the Celica and '55 Gasser are going to be this year.

Edit: A couple more 2013s. :D

There was also a blue X-Racers Nerve Hammer, but I didn't think you guys would be interested in that.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how cool do they look? I'm trying to solidify a colour scheme for my White Series customs and wanted the livery to hold black wheels which would make up for any castings that already have white bodies, like the Aventador and Bentley.

First of all, wrong thread. Noob.

:P

Secondly, I'm old & stupid. It's now driving me crazy trying to remember where I might've seen that, but I can't remember!

Really? Which color, do you know? Couple of my favorite cars this year. 👍

Oh, I don't know of any. But I know of they do a recolor (in which they most likely will), they'll be cool.

And on a slightly different note, it wouldn't surprise me if the Gasser went the way of the VW Drag Bus/Truck. I can easily see that happening.

It wasn't wrong. My original question, which is perfect legit for this thread, led to this as a given reason.

Nothing wrong with that. Typically seen in not-so-good neighborhoods.

Oh, you can't trick me, AOS. The sole purpose of the question was for customization. Case closed! Money in the bank!

Ah, it's bigger in the front, too. Touche. Yeah, they don't do that, not even on a '93 Accord with two different paint jobs.

And I was only going to ask whether or not LW wheels looked good in black, in case anyone has seen a casting with black LW. I've never seen any before nor did I want to paint mine to find out.

I know by adding to this conversation it will really need to be in the custom thread, but what's wrong with stripping the finish off of regular laceys to make them black?

Edit: I finally found some pictures of the 2013 $TH Super Snake.

It's not a fake as you can see from the "TH" logo on the deck lid. :D
