Thanks Cano. There's some old Hot Wheels too. I don't think they're in their original boxes though. Theres definitely alot more pics to come though.

Brought out MORE of the collection - this time, race cars! Kindaaaa....

100_0255.jpg

Class 1: V8 championship

Count:
2 Holden Commodores
1 Olds Aurora (RM)
4 Dodges - 2 Intrepids, 2 Chargers: one SRT-8 D1, one stock car
7 Pontiacs - 3 Grand Prixs, 4 Firebirds: 1 3rd gen Trans Am, 3 IROC cars
9 Chevrolets - 4 Monte Carlos: 1 early, three late, 1 Lumina, 4 Camaros :3 4th gen Trans-am, 1 3rd gen circle tracker.
4 Fords - 3 Mustang Trans Am cars, 1 Taurus.

How would this race go? I'm guessing a scrap between Trans Am cars at the front, followed by the Commodores and SRT-8 (given the SRT has the same tires the Commodores have) and then the stockers all behind. The Olds? Likely dead last, even with a RWD conversion...there's no aero parts.

Class 2: Tourally
100_0256.jpg

1 Dodge SRT-4
1 VW Scirocco GT24
3 Honda Civics: 1 EK Si Coupe, 1EP Si/Type R, 1 FD Si Coupe
1 Mitsubishi Eclipse
1 Mazda Miata
2 Hyundai Tiburons
1 Toyota Celica...ricer...
10 (!) Fords - Two Foci, 7 (!!) Escort RS Cosworths, and a single Model "T" converted for track use.

This is an interesting one. I'm gonna guess the Cossies are going to be duking it out at the front with the Scirocco. The FWD dragsters, if converted to RR use, might also be some threat, but the GT24 is most likely to harass the Cossies, with the RallyAmerica Tiburons also being right there. There's two wild cards, though. That Track T has ITBs, possibly OHCs, and is a flyweight. And, of course, there is The Miata.

That Celica will be at the back, though.

Class 3: GT4/GTQ

100_0257.jpg

2 Ford Mustang GTs
4 MR2 (rally cars?)
2 Pontiac Fiero IMSA GTU
1 Nissan 300ZX Z31
1 Porsche 944
1 Dodge Viper
1 Mazda RX-7
1 Chevrolet Corvette...Roadster?
1 Buick Grand National

Another interesting class. Toyota has a strong presence, with two MR2 factory cars, and two privateer. With that, two ex IMSA-GTU Fieros are also present. The more stock cars towards the back are likely to be trailing the pack, though the two mustangs, (Likely a factory team) seem potent.

((The 'vette had it's windshield pulled off by grubby little fingers long ago.))

Class 4: GT3

100_0258.jpg

4 Ferraris: 2 355 Challenge, 1 360 Modena, 1...very pink...512 Testarossa
2 Porsches: 1 996 GT3, 1 930 Turbo Slantnose
2 Dodge Vipers: 1 R/T10, 1 GTS
1 Peugeot 405 T16
1 Nissan Skyline GT-R
1 Lotus Elise Motorsport
1 Chevrolet Corvette C5
1 Audi Quattro
1 Ford RS200
1...of those Toyota MR2s?

I think we'd basically see a similar race as to what we already see in GT3: Ferrari Vs. Porsche. However, those Group B rally cars throw in a twist, and could be blisteringly quick. The Elise should run strong, too.

What's with the MR2? It...has a GT|S2 Sticker on it. Must be a Turbo.

((Interesting story behind the RS200. I found it behind one of my old residences, buried in the ground. I've had it ever since.))

Class 5: GT2

100_0259.jpg

2 Chevrolet Corvette C6Rs
2 Mercedes C-Class DTMs
4 Dodge Vipers - 2 GTS/R Concepts, 2 SRT-10 Coupe ACRs
1 Acura NSX
1 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI DTM
2 Nissans - 1 Skyline GT-R R32, 1 350Z
1 Ford GT
1 Ferrari 575 GTC

This one? The C6Rs, Ford GT, and Ferrari should be near the front. Wild cards are the GTS-Rs, and the 155 V6.

Class 6: GT1 (and two prototypes)

100_0260.jpg

4 Panoz GTR-1s
2 Callaway C7Rs
4 Porsche 911 GT1s: 1 '97, 3 '98s
2 Toyota Pikes peak cars: 1 Celica, 1 Tacoma
1 Mercedes CLK-LM
4 Oldsmobiles: 3 Aurora GTS-1s, 1 Aerotech Short Tail (which is missing it's canopy)
1 Mazda Furai

I'm guessing the GTR1s, the CLK-LM, and the 911 GT1-'98s should be near the front here, with the Furai being an unknown quantity, and the Aerotech as well. The Celica and Tacoma have a lot of drag, but could be good on city courses, what with 4WD and huge aero devices.

Class 7: LMP1

100_0261.jpg

1 Panoz LMP01
2 Ferrari 333SPs
1 Shadow Mk II
3 Cadillac LMP1s
3 Riley & Scott Mk IIIs

How does this one go? Probably the Panoz outpacing the outdated 333s, with one or two of the R&Ss close behind, and the factory caddys keeping pace. No Audis, so that's no problem...the Can-Am era Shadow, here because I don't know where else to put it, might make some bold moves on modern tyres, but I don't think it'll be close to the front...likely trading places with the gold playa caddy and maybe the Hot Wheels R&S.

Class 8: Historic Automobile Racing

100_0263.jpg

2 Dodge Chargers: 1 Daytona, 1 R/T General Lee
3 Plymouths: 1 '64 Belvedere, 1 '69 Road Runner/GTX, 1 Superbird
1 Cunningham C4R
2 Chaparral 2s: The 2 and 2D
6 Chevrolets: 4 '63 Corvettes: the Super Sport, the Edelbrock Z06 (from GT4), and two Grand Sports, 1 '62 Corvette, and 1 2nd-gen Camaro circle tracker
2 Ferraris: The 512M and P4
4 Fords, 3 Shelbys: 2 GT40s, 1 Torino Talladega, 2 Zakspeed Capris, 1 Mustang GT500, and 2 Cobra 427 S/Cs
1 DeTomaso Pantera
2 Datsuns: a 510 Bluebird, and a 240Z S30
1 Jaguar D-type
1 AMC Javelin Trans-Am
1 Triumph TR6
1 Lancia Stratos

*phew*

I expect the Ferraris, GT40s, and Chaparrals to be out front. Midpack, the '63 Vettes, the Datsuns, that Triumph, a couple of the better-prepared stockers, the Stratos, the Javelin and the Cobras. The D-Type and Cunningham are outdated, and the worse-prepared stockers, as well as that near-stock GT500, the '62 Vette, the General, and the Saturday-night Late Model Camaro are likely to scrap to avoid being Last. Who knows WHERE the Zakspeeds will end up. Probably going very fast.

I DO wish I had a LoCort. It'd be cool to have a historic racer someone here has actually driven. ;3

Awesome stuff! 👍

I know I have an Escort somewhere around the house. You have most cars I have as well. Also, can you put up a photo of the Miata? I'm interested to see the side of the car.

Very nice collection! I have some of yours, but you have even better ones. My favorites are the MR2 and the Ferrari P4 ;).

I've kept a lot from my childhood. I'll have to see if I can dig the Miata up again...already put it away.

how come? did the white version of the Holden only appeared in the US? I never EVER saw it here, I only have the silver version. Wow. another one to look for in e-bay.

What's Hot Wheels and Matchbox I do have, but the ones that are other markes that are not sold here... I almost lack all of them. But cool sutff, indeed.

The white Holden only ever came in a 5 pack.

Yeah, I have lots of Racing Champions, a few JL cars, too, stuff that came in happy meals and cereal boxes, as well as some stuff I pick up at flea markets that, well, even I don't know. Oh, and those really cheap ones that come in 20 packs.

Interesting thing about the two "factory" Toyotas...they both have different wheels.

Gordman's is a good place to look for "collectible" cars that recently dissappeared from store shelves.

'81 DeLorean DMC-12

'10 Ford Shelby GT-500 Super Snake

'09 Cadillac CTS-V

This is pity that I could not begin to collect hw much earlier, but before moving to UK, where I lived you have to work almost 2 hours to buy one car :ouch:

btw. why some people keep they cars in original packing?? is it not like sex with condom??

my latest purchase :)

Nice! Haven't come across a CTS-V yet. :grumpy:

I only keep them in the package to keep them clean, protect from damage, and also they may hold some value later on down the line. I'm probably going to open the 10 packs though. I want to give some of the cars to my little cousin.

This.

60's Redlines are worth major $$$$$ in the package still. More so than one that has been opened.

I got three new cars, and pulled out these three old cars today.

The GT2? 'cuz it looked like Blackbird. the SP2? Just 'cuz. and I've been eyeing that AEM NSX for awhile. All at Kroger while waiting for antibiotics for...my nose.

The Matchbox fords, other than the Sierra, I've had awhile. I really love that Mercury Tracer Wagon...I've had it forever, and it's aged, well...just like the real thing. It's amazing.

That wagon is pretty sick!

Here are three I picked up a couple of days ago.

Found these in a box with some Christmas ornaments. :odd:

And my ZR-1 Corvette coming along.

Sorry for the large pics. Will start resizing them.

Jim's Mercury stationwagon, isn't that a Sable wagon? Very cool either way(lol @Cano's reaction). 👍

So I actually found couple of Back to the Future DeLorean at my local grocery store. But I bought just one(already bought 3, 2 for me, 1 for my brother), for my nephew. I didn't want to hog it all to myself. Turns out my coworker wanted it really bad, he says that he's starting to get mad that he can't find one. I didn't tell him that I was in position to actually secure one for him. :P

I kept one in package, and display the second one at work. My only complaint with the car are the huge 22"(guess) rims. Frigging movie was from 1985, it did not have oversized rims. How hard would it be to swap wheels with smaller one's from older hotwheels?

Can't stand the oversized wheels either. I'm curious about axle swaps as well. I'm not sure about the sizes and how'd they fit.

Very nice! good colour choice, I really like it. Have you found a set of wheels for it yet?

And as for the wheel size in the DeLorean, it really is because those are the onyl regular production wheels that Hot Wheels has that have multispoke design. If you want to see know it would look with prroper-sized wheels, look:

4535213607_608f5f9b71.jpg

Custom, of course, but sincerely, sacrificing an original, late 70s-mid 80s Real Rider for the stupid time machine is just too much. I'd rather have the original car.

Thanks, Cano. :)
The color is Sun Yellow. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

I haven't thought of any wheels yet, because I'm not sure hot to get the axle back on in a tight fit. Won't the axle be loose if doesn't have those three hooks securing it? Not sure what to do.

I think there would be plenty of parts car available, hot wheel brand or not. I just think the oversized wheel look lame, but I sure don't want to risk not being able to put the DeLorean back together either.

a large chunk of epoxy takes good care of that. No one is going to see inside the car, right? don't worry about it. just check that they are the correct width for the car, because correcting the whidth of an axle can get tricky.

Alright, will do. 👍

I think I may use the axle of a Panoz Esperante. It's beaten up pretty bad. I'll try to get some pics up later today.

dude, get a new, or mostly new, axle, do not put one in that is beaten up, after all, you're trying to make the car better than it was! Try to find a fantasy car which you won't regret chopping off and take its wheels. It's what I always do... mostly.

Finally! I found a T-Hunt in the UK... Yay! :)

Really nice Buick, there was actually another T-Hunt there (it really is 2 come along at the same time) but it was so bland I didn't really fancy it.

Robin.

Wow that's really nice. I hope I can find it. Probably not, since the only T-hunts I find are ones I've never heard before. If I want a certain T-hunt I'll never find it. :(

eeeww. That's the one T-Hunt I wont ever bother looking at of this season. It's LOATHSOME. I mean, cool that you found it, but eeek.

meanwhile, I'll soon bomb this place with pictures, I have finished my work (:
