Damage aside, i'm liking the detail, i used to have a 1/32 scale Mini that looked a bit like that (roof rack, rallye lights), but seeing it in that scale has got me curious as to what make it is.

Guess I'll be the first to acknowledge it. I want that RS200. Would make a splendid addition to my Rally Series.

But you cared for the Mini...... and Falcon for that matter.

What was your collection's JPN-to-"every-other-nationality" car ratio again?

What I bought for today:

Oh, I am also reading a racing manga titled "Kanojo no Carrera". It's a good read, and that's another one that I'm following right now.

Question to everyone: do you buy duplicates so you can keep 1 mint in card then 1 to open?

I am still 50:50 deciding if i should open or not.

I do that often.

Edit: I wanted to share this.

That Firepower Concept I posted awhile back, which had chrome missing on one of the wheels? I was organizing my loose cars last night, and discovered that it had patch of chrome applied on the bottom.

I buy one if I only need an opened one. (Play)
Sometimes I buy one if I only need one to keep carded. (Investment or display.)
I buy two if I need to open one and customise one.
I also buy two if I need just an open one in stock condition but would like to have another in a card for reasons of Investment or display.
I may buy two if I'm deciding to open only one, but the other used for trade or gifting.
I may buy three; one for stock, one for customising, one for display/investment/trading/gifting.
Sometimes I may buy four.. . .

TG, most times they cost less than a case of beer.

^ That Mini with the roof rack looks awesome, what make is it Roger?

I'm not sure. If I remember I'll look next time I find it. I picked it up at a market stall about 12 years ago, tried to repair some of the damage, and then decided the damage looked cool.

My favourite out of that selection is the Peugeot 206, I picked it up while I was in France. If I remember correctly it's a majorette.

Hi Roger, nice to see you whinnying in hear :) 👍 Yes, you got us with that Mini. I have the Peugeot, too, though I didn't buy it in France. Majorettes are available, TG, in Canada.

Guys . . . look at the scale differences between these trucks; one is HW, the other is MB.

BBL . . .got to run for now.

This isn't in regards to the inaccurate scaling, but it reminded me of the book I have written by the founder of Tamiya.

He wrote mainly about the start up of his company & he touched on how exact scale down of the car models doesn't work at times. Scaled down cars ended up looking too narrow & awkward. They make minor adjustments to make the models look more true to our perception of the said cars.

He also wrote about how hands on he was in researching the original vehicles to make more accurate, faithful models, so it was very interesting to see him admitting that they have to fudge the details here & there at times. :D

Edit: My bad. It was written by the son of the founder, Tamiya Shunsaku(or Shunsaku Tamiya to you Westerner folks lol). Former President of Tamiya, currently the Chairman.

Yet another edit: If anybody would be interested, I think this is the same book. Expensive, but maybe the library?

I know it's a packaging error, but three of the same? I don't know if that makes it more rare, or less rare.

Depends on the car. Maybe about 20% of the time.

Thanks! Screw it... I'll open all of them and call it a day. I may need to buy a bucket though. 👍

I always kept mine in the packages because I didn't have anywhere to display them free of dust and without them getting nicked and scratched. Now I have a display cabinet and my personal created display frames so I've been opening more lately. Some of the rare wheel variations & movie/tv cars have stayed in their packages though.

Care to share a photo of your display?
