They have white backgrounds, this was taken before I bought the poster board for that.

Check out this beast I scored the other day.

Got it for $5

He wrote mainly about the start up of his company & he touched on how exact scale down of the car models doesn't work at times. Scaled down cars ended up looking too narrow & awkward. They make minor adjustments to make the models look more true to our perception of the said cars.

Makes sense.

Walmart...

Y-yoooooo NICE FIND, MAN! I'll bet that was a bad batch thanks to some lousy worker. By that logic, you might be able to find Hollowbacks in Chevroleter cards!

I almost want one off you.

R1600 Turbo,

Thanks for posting! That inspired me to DYI one for my self. What material did you use as a divider and dimensions for each box?

I cant believe how fast this thread is moving now. Ive nearly got all the cars you wanted Medigo. Ive got some cars to share with you guys but been working long hours so havnt been able to get pics for you. There are a couple of 10 packs. One of them has a Falken Cuda and the new S2k, the other has the TH Lincoln. I also found a TH Bread Box.

This thread is moving! I've been busy with the news about the PS4, Viper ACR, C7 Vette, 14 Nissan GTR and being busy I didn't stopped by.

Word is starting to leak of a Hot Wheels Fast & Furious set with a heavy Japanese vibe. It will feature cars from previous movies, and little birdies talk of GT-R's, Supras, and R34's.

I don't post pics that came from questionable origins, but there is a place that does. If I am hearing about it, I am almost positive they are too...

And I MUST HAVE THE F&F CARS!!! MINE!!!!

Like Jessie says..... Hot Wheels Fast and The Furious Series, no 🤬!

The cars will own all of the others with 15 grand or more with parts overnighted from Japan.

Yess! :D

Ohhh, yeahhhh....

Edit: *cough*

Oh Yeahhhhhh to a 993 911 GT3!!!! Mine as well, MINE!!!!!!

Nice collection Pink, hope to see it grow. :D

Might actually pick up the Enterprise, I used to watch the reruns on Spike TV back when we had it. Every time I got home from school, I'd go to Spike TV to watch it while I did homework. But as for the Boulevard 993 GT2... Although I'm not sure I'm that big on those wheels for the GT2.

jtl46, I'll always be looking at the Lamley Group posts, even if they aren't as quick as T-Hunted. ;)👍

Since no one posted the pictures of them on this thread yet.

Nice to see the R35 GT-R back and nice to see the Supra in a decent scale...apart from the decals and spoiler... And the wheels seem a bit wrong for that car. They should totally add the black Hakosuka from Fast Five into the mix! Also the R33 from the first movie, I want an R33! And I don't care how many people dislike it, I love the R33! I must be weird...

Another member, welcome Pink to the world of HW collectors in GTP. :) Enjoy your stay.

I know I'm glad that Mattel is working with Universal and F&F for the cars and I want a R33 Skyline as well. I want to get a 1:1 R33 GTR and build a replica of the Nismo 400R one day.

So I gotta find these cars soon bro and I will leave F&F quotes like crazy so get use to it. :P

I live my life a quarter mile at a time. 10 seconds or less, I'm free.

HW? or Tomica?
Matchbox.. because IMSA.
Actually, all 3 of them, they're all nice.

@ a6m5.
Wouldn't mind getting my hands on that Tamiya book, though yeah quite pricey. Going to check at my local library, if they haven't got it, i'm going to see whether they can order it in.
:)

@ AOS.
Nice NSX. 👍 That's the only variation i like of it, the rest of them look a bit crap, i think i like it because the glasshouse is black.

No 🤬 sherlock. :P

I'm talking about the quality and design of the castings. Usually it's easy to make out different castings, but those two are really close.

Jokes aside I do agree they look pretty damn similar. Maybe the Hot Wheels casting was bought and/or duplicated from the Tomica's.

I don't think that's the case, like what was pointed out earlier, the opening doors. I actually don't think they're that close at all, i can see a clear difference between the rear wheel arch widths, can nobody else see this?

While of course I like the opening doors on the Tomica, the creases disrupt the look.
Therefore I go Hot Wheels.

Nah, that kind of mod was/is pretty standard for Rx7s of those years, considering most race cars based on it looked like that for a good 5 years or so until the more extreme IMSA race cars took hold. It's like standard stuff to do to those cars.

I was referring to the difference in casts, wasn't suggesting it was a different style of arch.

lol no, it wasn't at you, it was at AOS suggesting one casting was mocked up from the other. I'd say they were both patterned after a common style of mod in that generation RX-7.

As for me, I'd pick the Tomica.

There's something unique about Tomica. They do all kinds of Japanese cars, from trucks to racing cars. And the Savanna RX-7 Racing casting has been there for decades, and a lot of variations popped out even a TL version.

And do you notice what direction HW is taking? Look at the Hakosuka, 240Z, CR-X, AE86 Trueno, TA22 Celica, SA22C RX-7, Kenmeri, and the 2000GT. Knowing that Tomicas are not as hot in the U.S. as compared to Japan and Southeast Asia, I think Mattel wants to capture the market of those who seek Tomicas that are not available in the U.S. shores. These cars are just among the most sought-after Tomicas in the marketplace. And it might also stem from the fact that Vintage JDMs are rising in popularity in U.S. as well.

I won't be surprised if HW would come up with the Honda S600 and S800...

And another reason why I pick the Tomica over the HW? The wheel arches from the HW casting look cartoonish and overly wide. What's that, an RWB RX-7?

Jun really is as diverse of a Hot Wheels designer as you can get.

I don't think I even need to mention the great designers of yesteryear, but I think Jun will be considered one of them in the future.

Yes please, if anything, they look better wider (imo).

We have Jun Imai to thank for this. 👍
Well, except the 240Z. I remember dissing Jun for the Z, in either this or the customising thread... Turns out i was wrong, another guy was responsible for it. (My apologies Jun).
