The only problem PB gave me was recently, as they changed over their format - months of glitching, after years of trouble-free use. I did register at Flickr recently; looks like a stable image hoster, I must say. The constant logging in and out was annoying, though.

Open all cars!!

Flickr only lets to see the 200 most recent images so you can't access older images (for links or whatever) when you get more images in the future. Unless you buy premium, it doesn't make for a presentable album. Photobucket does okay, but there's a 2gb limit for free users. Imageshack stops you (yes, stops you) at 500 images, and Imgur is similar to Flickr. This is why I upload using a blog now.

Hi, Wolfe - Welcome to the discussion.
Beat up cars, you say?
Hmmmmmmm.

:)
Beat up cars? I like beat up cars...:sly:
Thanks, I could share some my favorites at a later time, I'm in the midst of a move and my cars are 90 miles away at the moment. :) I've got more Euro/JDM classics than I would have ever realized as a kid, like an SA RX-7, Ford RS200, Z31 300ZX, etc. Of course those cars are the same age as me, not exactly classic when they and I were both ~10 years old.

Wolfe sounds like me from couple years ago.
Hey man, nice to see you're still around. I got folded back here from ForzaPlanet. :)

Yeah, after I met my fiancée I already started buying the occasional car again. She likes to get them for me, it's a way we can share automotive enthusiasm together. Also looking at Hot Wheels gives me something to do in WalMart while she shops for gardening stuff a couple rows over. Mattel makes some really cool stuff today, like Datsun 510 racers and Porsche 914s. I've also seen a Caterham 7.

^ No idea who made it and I can't look at it now, but I remember it was made to have a squishy suspension. I hope it wasn't one that I sharpie'd to fill in lost paint when I was little.

ImageShack had similar log-in issues. They've been better lately(when I actually use it!), but yes, I also find that very annoying.

I don't know about you, but I really dislike the new Photobucket interface. Last one was less worse. Then again, I hate the ImageShack, so I guess it is what it is. :D
That garage set is nice. I'm gonna keep that one in mind. Thanks! 👍

Yeah, it was cars like the 510, also muscle cars that drew me in, and yes, Walmart generally has tons of selections. Nice to see you too! :D:tup:

I was going to buy a bunch of stuff from him and paint them all white but the day I decided to buy them his store went empty.

I could probably make that stuff if I got a Makerbot though.

BTW, if anyone's interest in a makerbot piqued when I mentioned it last time, I received a response from a peer and said it's not going to produce fine detail at the scale hot wheels are at. Makerbots aren't as godlike as MJM printers and will have a clear indication of printed layers.

I've been with PB for decades. Nothing is perfect; PB can be glitchy, but overall does provide decent service more often than not.

IMG_1622_zps14e6b459.jpg

Decades you say? Since before 1993?
Not to nitpick but decades, plural, implies more than one decade, and seeing as 1 decade ago was a) 2003 and b) the year PB was founded I don't think you were on PB in '93.

I'm sure it does feel like '03 was decades ago.

As for these cars, I've not had any time or funding to look and buy any.
I did snap my bicycle crank and replace it though

@Spacegoat: really jelly now that truck is great, had a glance on eBay and could only find different flat nose versions, will have to keep my eye out for that:tup:

That's pity, hopefully you'll find one soon. And thanks. 👍
Flickr has never given me a single problem, I don't know why no one uses it.

In the year or so I've been using Flickr, it has never given me any problems either.
All I know is Jarrod's Yahoo thing sucks, because the pics displays really small, and when you click on it, it asks you to log-in. :ouch:

Went to a flea market today and got some decent cars.
Pictures later although they will be pretty informal.

Today the flea market I went to had amazing matchbox lesney cars from the 60s but in horrible condition, it seemed as if someone tried to paint them, doesn't matter though. I got 15 for 5 bucks.

And you made an account only to tell this to us? Of all places, a racing game forum and not a collector-centric board? I'm starting to think this thread is one of the first hits on a google search for hot wheels... even though we're getting a post about matchbox.

So.. are we going to be getting photos?

I am awesome. And the world should know.

Congrats to the people who made this thread what it is! It took a lot of posts to accomplish this, especially R1600 and his 2400 posts.

Cheers, buddy.

Awesome grab. If you don't want them or won't restore them, I will if you send them over.

I just noticed your user title. You wish, dud.

Seriously man! When you buy cool cars, we want a closer look!

Okay if it helps at all, I'll no longer keep my pictures private and won't resize them any more either.

For (as AOS said) a racing game forum. That is incredible.

Not to mention Shinji and his (almost) 2000 posts about not collecting. :dopey:

I dont have an imgur or whatever so I can't post the pics but the condition was far far faar from mint. I might attempt to restore them but Idk, one was a police car and the top light for the siren was missing so I'm converting it into just a regular commuter. But I will consider you

You evil, evil man. I was wondering why the photos were so small!

OK, I'll come clean. I've been buying more. But I'm pretty certain I'm going to slow down after this. Third times' the charm, they say. ;)

Thats the set i have!:dopey: I had been drooling over that set for quite awhile and then I finally got it!:D

Your lucky to see that anywhere at all, I have only seen it on ebay. It is not very rare I believe but for sone reason I can never find it anywhere, not even at Kit Kringle.:indiff:

Flea market grabs.
Nothing too spectacular, your typical flea market stuffs.

First, I shall steal some photos from STDC because I couldn't be bothered to take pictures of them.

Each were loose with minor wear.
Croc Rod will get some cooler shoes, er...feet, while the Speed Blaster I got for its wheels.

Average Stuff

Cool Stuff

Matchbox "The Buster" and Jeep Cherokee.
I love those two-door Cherokees, I'm gonna own one someday.

This bizarre thing. It's called Fangore.

A Majorette Fiero. And in typical Majorette fashion, the wheels are outrageous.

Sooper Cool Stuff

I wish this was in better shape, but it still looks great.

I've been after this one for a long time. :D

I think I like the lower wing on this Thunderstreak more than the higher one.

Sooper Dooper Cool Stuff

This wonderful Corgi BMW M3. I can't wait to upgrade its wheels.
It was in its box, but the plastic window was all cracked up and broken so there is a little scuff on the front left fender.
