I just finished watching a five minute video of the Texas Ride 'Em on YouTube not long ago. Everything from the painted 'FORD' on the back of the tail gate to the dirt bikes looks great.

Painted bikes had me hooked. I just wish they weren't so expensive for Hot Wheel cars!

That tail light detail and hood work is amazing.

Indeed, the detail work is just phenomenal.
This thread has come a long way in less than two years.
This was my first post - and yes, that was less than two years ago, when the thread had just topped 2000 posts; we've spammed it no end, haven't we - adding over 14,000 posts since then.

I can't believe how much this thread has grown in the past 2 years. On the subject of first posts here's mine.
I'm really digging the Super Bee and Nova.

My area still doesn't have the Fleetwood. But I did get photos of it:

Which do you like the most and why? :)

R1600Turbo
Yeah. The only other release of that car is crappy and I have no intentions on buying it, so that'll be the only one of that casting that I buy.

Ok, I was wondering. I kinda like it. Whenever you go to the Hot Wheels meets again or anywhere you find the silver 350, can you snag one for my Z33 collection? :)

And I don't wanna see the police version, I'll pass on that one :ill:. The original 350Z in the silver looks the best hands down. 👍

@Andy: The shots look excellent, but IMO, the 4th and 5th pics are the best. How you have the car and the position of the lights gives the car a double meaning. On the fourth photo, you can see the front wheels and then the lines disappear into the shadows. Giving the car a sleeker look to it.

And what is your essay about and how many pages?

Yes Mr. Truong, how many paragraphs must it be?
And when is it due?

0.5 paragraphs. Must not contain capital letters, commas nor periods. You may use any other characters. Proper spelling is still required. Due within 5 minutes of reading this post. Go.

Fourth one down. Most balanced lighting? *edit I guess that would be the last one, but I like the slightly darker look in the other pic better.

I think this was my first post:

Hai guyz, I'm not about to start collecting or anything, but here is the 200 cars I got from eBay last week......
:D

Come to think of it i dont think ive ever seen the stock z33 outside of the first editions. Its always the tooned one

They probably haven't release more than 3 of them because the casting looks weird, the proportions are all off.

-------------

On another note, just snagged a Gold/Black Skyline R32 off eBay for $4.75 shipped.

I think this was my first post:

This is mine:

I find I'm stopping by the toys section every time I happen to visit or Wal-Mart or Zellers for Hot Wheels now. I'm also finding that they're getting sloppy with paintjobs... didn't notice it when I bought a Gallardo Superleggera, but when I saw the Enzo, it was awful.

Instead of grabbing that, I grabbed 5 Maisto Fresh Metals for $4... Granted they are the lower-end in quality, I was going to paint them all anyway so it wouldn't matter too much.

But here's a much more exciting one:

However, I'm really only collecting real cars and not the goofy artificial ones......with the exception of that batmobile.

Haha I'm a liar! Yur So Fast broke the ice with fantasy castings.

I think mine was Twin Mill II or whatever.

OK, I finally uploaded the photos of all cars I have available for trade. I'm not looking to give them or trade them away. Just offering them as possible trade-bait to expand on handful of active trades I have going on with some of you here. It's not a first-come-first-serve, but whomever can workout trade(s) for them.

PM me any offers. 👍

Edit: That RLC Camaro's been going on eBay for just over $25(total). When I found one for $21, I took it & ran like Cano. However, this is what can happen when two or more impatient bidders finds one RLC Camaro.

Vintage Racing Challenger & Boulevard Ferrari are mine. Add them to my box.
Sorry guys, I just explained to Andy and Cano I added the Challenger to the folder by mistake. Sorry.

You guys are both onto the Ferrari, so to whoever has the car I want it goes to. :dopey:

I can't post what I'm thinking right now ¬¬

Don't worry Cano, I have really good imagination. Not that I need it when we are talking about you. :P

Like I said, I'm ready to listen to any offer you guys might have, so no need to rush if you have a trade offer. I'm sleep deprived, so I'm probably headed to bed shortly.

Whatever it is. I didn't even have that casting at all until Jason's package arrived with a mainline blue one that, incredibly, was never released here. I'm the only one I know that has that one. So it needs some company.

Edit: Ooo I see what you did there

Want the Hakosuka! And...Gallardo! Too bad there's no Datsun 510 wagon in the trade mix...

Also great news! Was able to buy the very last CLK-GTR Roadster in black on eBay! My brother offered to let me use his PayPal account and his account had just enough to buy it! :D Will have to hope that my parents aren't home when the package arrives...

Hahaha that's what I have to deal with too. It's all good when they have work though since stuff arrives in the morning usually.

Same here and my brother's home all day, so he will probably be able to take the package in and hide it for me. :D

That Ferrari's a Garage, I forgot about that, too. :ouch:

I already have the Gallardo & R5 set aside for our trade. Yeah, no 510, but if you'd be interested in expanding our trade for anything I have, send me a trade proposal. 👍

Sure will, but I've been really busy... Send me a list of anything you're looking for, got no time to make up a list of stuff I can offer. Still need to get out on sending my trade stuff for Ben and Cano. :ouch:

Yeah, more stuff lol. We agreed you'd look for, er, cars, lol, as I have many more cars to send you than you have to send me. If I remember correctly, you have 3 or 4 TV cars for me, I have like 10 cars for you, one of them a straight trade (Tomica Morgan).

There's been nothing new in recent times. Flea markets run dry and all the other stores have only updated their mainlines. Sorry :indiff:

Mr. Turbo,
Do you have/need one of the Holiday 240Z? Although this picture is older, I should still have two of them left in package. (I know I've opened one and traded another)

Welcome to the Hiding and Smuggling Scale Cars Under Parents Noses, or something like that.

Cause everytime I buy a car, I have to hide it in my pockets or in a backpack when I'm on vacation and I scored some great cars. I even got 1:24 cars past my parents, thanks to my older niece who stuffs them in her bag. ;)

And they don't even know :sly:👍, unless I bring out a car that I got or leave quickly after bringing the groceries or other bags. :ouch:

I think we need to create a club for collectors like us. 💡

I'm still here, btw - I've never left. I mostly just read the thread nowadays because I'm usually only able to post good pictures of my purchases twice a year. :P I still have yet to start buying things from eBay, as much as I'd like to. But I'm still collecting and reading up on everyone else's collections.

Oh! I know you are around, DP, have caught some of your posts in other threads . . . ;) (in fact at least one needing a response from me that is yet to be posted.)
I was merely recollecting the gang that was around when I joined the thread - most of whom are still here, and in fact no doubt dive into the thread quite often (making Zach very nervous about who exactly is viewing the thread - 'Bots!')
I really don't think the discussion is mainly about showing off the latest score, though, we have some very interesting discussions that arise sometimes on one or another facet of collecting these hopelessly addictive miniature cars.
In fact . . . I have several related 'Collector Stories' which I will eventually bring to the table - and I guarantee they will spur a lot of discussion. If not actual spitballs and curses.
