I've only been collecting off/on since 1995 and seen it many times. But what do I know...

That's just my theory. Either one of us could be right honestly.

Anyways, I found a Ferrari 575 GTC, Mercedes C-Class, and a Panoz GTR-1 at an antique store today.

A huge package from Daboxtoys arrived this week with some amazing stuff. A little preview of some of them:

Some of these will hit the Lamley blog this week...

For you RLC members, the Flying Customs Kenmeri Skyline has been posted on the RLC forum by HWC Van. They have asked that we don't share so I will adhere, but it looks good. Flying Customs style so not as realistic as it could be but it looks really nice.

I'll probably have to buy that one online, but I'm looking forward to that one. 👍

It'll end up on T-Hunted shortly, unfortunately for them...

Hi guys! This is my first post in this thread and I've been getting into my old hot wheels models recently. I solemnly regret giving away close to 250 of them to my House Keeper's son...Anyway, could you help me identify this? I haven't been able to find anything like it on the web.

I got it as part of a HW train set that was recalled and I kept this little guy.

I have one of these, it's purple.
It came up with a kind of a Ford factory.
I'll take some photos to show them.

Hey John, I've always wanted to know something. How big is the backdrop you use to photograph your cars and is the curved section actually coloured gray or is it entirely white?

edit: Here's one for you guys. How much would you pay for a Rod & Custom Magazine PREFERRED series car? Ball park numbers.

Awesome find there with the Veyron Medigo:drool:
Here's my grabs from the end of last week and the weekend:)
Some random stuff with a couple of wheel errors, '10 Camaro SS & blue Acura NSX with same size wheels front & rear:

Target had got some 60th Anniversary Matchbox, so I grabbed them all, hadn't seen any for a while:lol:

and lastly some Flying Customs:tup:

Andy the background is totally white, just a shadow.

Those Kyosho's... Maybe i should get back into collecting premium 1:64 scale..so much detail on those alfa's..i am drooling.

Also bought a new glass display shelf, thanks to ikea. Safe cars, moose's, and fine furniture in a box. thank you Sweden.

wipes drool*

Also I decided to finally clean (rearrange) my room, i look the new set up,

I will put the glass shelf in the far right, So i can finally liberate my other models from my closet's. don't want them to be in a dark..dreary place.

Happy collecting everyone.

I would consider making a new or modifying that corner display rack on the left. There's so much wasted space in between shelves. If you add more, you can store more and as a result make your collection look much more dedicated. Same goes for the white rack.

The wooden shelf to the left will be going onto a new owner, funny you say that, i tried modifying(adding shelves in the past,Didn't go as planned. As for the gaps, the spaces between them has always bothered me. The white rack on the other hand is going bye bye. i will get around to putting up the new shelf later on after i get back from work 👍 if i don't develop a case of lazy that is.

Basically it's a piano black shelf with piano black supports and Crystal clear shelves, with a LED Light fixture underneath the top. it's going to look wonderful, it's also 7 feet high with 12 spaces.

And just as I suspected, T-Hunted just posted it.

I quite like it.

Edit: Also read it might not even make it to market. :nervous:

Sad. The livery looks pretty good, and those wheels, to my liking, are the best wheels HW has ever produced. I wish they were easier to procure.

Flying Customs don't sell well because they use obnoxious colour schemes along with those old wheels kids nowadays don't like.

Nostalgia, man. That's the whole point...

And the $3+ lines are meant to be adult collectibles.

That's right. And the fact it's not selling well is that they're not appealing to either target group (new or veteran collectors) means they need to change up their marketing plans.

You know why they don't sell? This is just like Boulevards, Hot Ones, etc. They make too many of peg warmers. If they actually had good handle on what buyers want(67 Camaro, Skylines, Hare Splitters, etc.), make more of those & actually make the peg warmers the limited chase cars, they will sell all cars they'll produce. Instead, they have tons of unwanted Hot Ones, Flying Customs, Boulevards, Pop Culture Retro Sesame Racing Garage things hanging on pegs forever, leading to less sale(obviously), unwanted old stock, delayed & reduced numbers of reorder.

At least that's how it works in my twisted head. Thank you, you guys can go back to sleep.

Go talk to Tomica dude, you're in the wrong country.

Tomica is usually crap for $3, and that doesn't include shipping because they don't sell them in big box stores. A lot of people that were part of the Japanese car scene in the 80's and 90's are starting to become Hot Wheels collectors and they want cars from those era's. Fact is JDM car diecast collecting is growing, fast.

Go talk to Tomica Limted. :P
It would also be a smarter move for walmarts to not order like 4 cases of the same thing.
I know they have a method to madness when it comes to ordering(it's fairly well known), so I can't say I agree or disagree.
Great stuff. Nice score on the wheel errors. 👍
I missed that. Jason's everywhere.... :odd: sorry zak lol
My latest eBay purchases (Surprise, another Ruff Trek.) Considering how much these go for in mint condition. I was happy to score both for $18.
Obviously you like it more than I do, but I've never seen the one of the left. Sweet bikes on the back. 👍
