No misunderstanding there Harry. Even in poverty, I'll be working in exchange for not money or food, but
moar cars. You won't get mine, so take off eh? Hoser.
You addicted bastard. Now I have to make
new plans? Grrrrr.. . . .
Getting cars off the non-collectors is the worst. They never let go.
Awesome cartoon though. You are talented.
I'm going to ignore that compliment. Coming from you, it's too much to handle. Bit chilly in here, eh? My cheeks have gone all red.
My philosophy: Light - Snap - Done
When it comes to technique, yes, that sometimes is the best way - too much fiddling around can tire the muse. In fact I don't even bother with light, quite often, I'm just 'snap, snap, snap'. I'll use whatever light is available. I hardly ever use a tripod - maybe if I'm going after fine print, or a very long exposure.
But, for hobby-photography like this, I could grab any point-and-shoot compact camera and just about get the results I'm looking for. That's part of the fun, of course; it shouldn't be too much work - and it is quite obvious from the layouts that you are enjoying yourself immensely. As I mentioned before, technology can take care of a lot of the technicalities - point, shoot, you're done.
But here is another aspect to this - the real question I was asking you: Are you getting what you want to get? Or are you surprising yourself with the results? Or to put it more crudely: Fluke shots, or deliberate Art?
I see a lot of Art in your layouts - and whether by guile, education, or talent, you seem to be following the principles of Composition - placement, grouping, alignment, flow, spacing, etc, etc, using your Components and Concepts rather deftly.
TL: DR? = Nice work, Van Gogh. Just don't start cutting off ear-lobes and shooting yourself in the tummy.
I bet. I don't believe I've ever seen one of those!
Yes. About the FOOSE Monte Carlo. Well, I took some shots in the package - wasn't going to open it - don't have enough 1:55s to start off a proper 1:55 Diorama - and then it bloody well seduced me, and I ripped it open. Beautiful car to handle, and it's already traveled almost a thousand miles with me (since I had some heavy driving in the last few days visiting my son in Uni, then driving him back and forth from Uni to home and back, etc. No I didn't drive the FOOSE, it was the car
in my car.)
So here are some shots of the opened car - I've put aside the shots of the package, though if anyone wants a closer look I can post that, too.
This car totally needs to be detailed - and I'm looking forward to putting off, forever, yet another job that needs to be done.
If you don't mind feedback that sounds like criticism - the large dark area over the car is distracting. Our vision just loves to look at the black on white, eh? Maybe it's easier on the pupils.
XsnipX.....tripod.....XsnipX
Me, too. I don't like tripods. A mono-pod if needed outdoors, or a beanbag if necessary, indoors. My not liking them doesn't lessen the fact that they are vital in certain situations, though.
Normally I take time to clean them up before posting, but ehhh...couldn't be bothered
Yeah, whatever. Keep scoring all the good 🤬
There's too many good cars in that lot. You must have insured your collection by now?
Quality! There's great stuff in that lot, I even dig the newer stuff, like the, (grrr) Mystery Fast Fish. I'm specially digging the fluorescent yellow hot rod with the bolt-on ginormous tires behind, of which I can't remember the name.
That yellow hot rod is the real mystery. I have one, green with flames, in my collection (very similar - checked it out after seeing Panda's post) but it isn't made by HW. Mine is some nameless creature from China. Will try to get some pics up later.
