Aaaaalllmost, the thing's paint is too good to strip it. You could pop it open to replace the glass but it would then become even more worthless and a repro glass piece would cost around $5-8, with the repro wheels another $5-8. Dunno. For that kid of money you can get a very VERY good one in E-Bay. The one in the pic is actually in kind of a limbo if you're not affraid to strip it after spending $10 on it, and spend another $10-$15 to restore it instead of putting that $25 in a very good one, maybe even in a much less common color than silver, then yeah... good candidate

I agree, the paint is still pretty good. Personally I am very hesitate about restoring a vehicle over 40 years of age and I wouldn't restore it unless I have the exact parts it has such as the wheels, glass and a can of paint exactly like what it has. I have seen a site that sells Hot Wheels paints for redlines and they may have that silver there , but I think it is expensive.

As long as the vehicle still rolls and the paint is good, that is good enough for me.

Brushed aluminum panels is such a tacky attempt at wanting to look at textured surfaces.... especially that it's on a car too. BA looks great for fridges, wall tiles or anything related to architecture.... not cars though. Of course that is my opinion.

I completely agree. 👍 Hence why I said minus the silver hood. That's a fine example of what not to do to a car, especially on a red line!

I like Speed Machines, problem is I haven't seen them at my local Wal Mart, that is the only reason I haven't got any besides the release of GT6 coming.

Stopped by the local flea market on the way back... They actually updated! Slightly.

The one that's blocked by the glare is the Dropstars Skyline R32.

Edit: I also stopped by Walmart and Toys R Us. After looking through some older posts, was the C7 Vette out with the rest of the 2014 A-case cars like the Datsun? Never saw one...but was able to find ONE Datsun 620. And now...there isn't that much left. Guess I'll just have to wait for another case to be opened?

I saw those cars for 50% off today, while on lunch break. Hot Wheels were buy 1, get 1 free. I still couldn't find one car I wanted that didn't have already.

Not gonna happen. It will sell out in first couple minutes, tops. If I get two by some miracle from god, yes, I will split it with you. Don't even get your hopes up.

P.S. I emailed HWC customer service to see if they can bump up my Gulf GT-40 preorder from one to two? They said it's not gonna happen. In my head, I 'm thinking that I can just cancel the preorder, then preorder two, but I can just see myself losing the one while I'm fumbling around, so I'm just settled for one. DUMB.

HWC Datsun Bluebird/510 to go on sale this Tuesday, at 9am. No more than 3,000 is to be produced.



That is such a bull-blank. Cars limited to 4,000 are selling out in less than 10 minutes, and Mattel is going to limit these to even smaller number? Sorry Jason, but I think this one's going to be for the record books. Both in the shortest time to completely sell out, and also for the highest price achieved by scalpers on eBay.

Look what happened to the Exige S, the TL version came out immediately after the normal variant got out. There might be a huge demand for it...

The Tomica doesn't look bad in comparison to the Hot Wheels version, with it's...ride height issue. And once they turn it into a TL, it'll look even better. Sad how the basic Tomica's get such awful wheels.

Like I posted before, 9am on Tuesday thing just kills me. I only finally decided to join, because I happen to get sick on the day Gulf Drag Bus was being released.

These cars seem to either sell out immediately, or they never do(not for awhile). 24 hour head start by shelling out $30+(w/shipping) makes zero sense by what I've seen so far, if you are working at 9am pacific.
