Front corner light looks fine on the Civic, but looks like they did mess up the b-pillar tampo? I swear they had some drunk guy working at the Mattel factory on those Civic tampos. They are almost all like that.
Tomica box art reminds me of Tamiya box art. If Tamiya were to do (A1 size) box art prints at an affordable price, and i had the room to display them, i would probably buy them.
Yes..... Plastic model box art in general are very nice. As a kid, I think there were few that I downright fell in love with!
Same, I have both of them actually. The Cylon Raider and the Colonial Viper. $5 isn't much for them, worth it to me.
I've not only saw it, I've purchased it. As for special features, I'm not sure.
They look like just a molded plastic. Sounds like Johnny haven't opened his, but have you opened yours Jason? Do they have any construction to them at all, or just one lump piece of a molded material?

That'd be correct.

Haven't opened mine either. I think the bases are metal, all the paint details, and pretty sure they come with a stand to put them on.

So I just learned (after seeing nobody on Friday night) that the local collector meets got moved into the local mall which is out of my reach on a bicycle. Guess until my car is done I'll be saving some money...

So a collector with some of the rarest Hot Wheels had no idea how much they're actually worth? O.o
Cool collection, but the guy needs to visit Dr. Nessy.

Of course he has an idea of what the cars are worth, the guy paid a freaking 70k to own the pink Combi. That show is a big pile of dung.

Report on changes to the collection:

- More plastic cases are making its way here. Will finally be able to store the rest of the larger cars in the medium cases.

- Also ordered 50 protectos, finally. Should've also grabbed those Johnny Lightning protectos to package the large HW cards such as Vintage Racing and Speed Machines.

- Found a FAO Schwarz Dodge Viper RT/10 for $4 loose. Good price?

- Magnets for the planes are likely arriving by the end of the week.

- Sister helped me find a nail polish colour that will hopefully match the Saw Blades Land Rover for me to restore soon.

- Finally found a 2003 Fish'd & Chip'd 3SP and a Triumph OH5 variation.

- diecast-1 on thetoypeddler will no longer accept paypal starting next year. Good thing I grabbed the '13 Mystery T-Bird and Sport Elise!

- Consumption of cars overall has hit the steepest decline yet in the past quarterly! But money is still being spent! What is happening!?

I know that that link wasn't for me, but curiosity got the better of me. I could definitely use one of those. I've actually wanted one since the days of playing with Hot Wheels cars rather than collecting them.
I might buy one, just waiting until I get the rest of the 1:1 car parts I need. If I have any cash left over I'll pick one up. Cheaper than the Carney cases.

If I could find one in a physical store you can walk into I might get one someday, be it for the loose wing of my collection or my customs.

Customs obviously being a different story, I'm in the northeast US, so 95% of my customs have to wait until after the snow is gone to even strip the paint. :(

@R1600Turbo - Shipping was $2.41, but it's so small, let's not even worry about it. Maybe give me a discount on something next time.

Death sentence. No PayPal, no business. I think I've mailed a personal check to a seller one time on TTP, but he had awesome cars & he was giving them away. I'm not a fan of monopoly(love the game), but I don't know how any online seller could survive without PayPal.

You have you guys seen the 2014 installment of the '56 Buick Century Police? It's a fire dept. livery completed with dark metallic red paint, and white wall tires.

All those plastic storage cases. With the money you spend on those, you could have bought a wall display.

I've already got 4 RIBBAs in my bedroom and a smaller display in my workspace. Totes are also less expensive and are easier to move around. I'm saving my wall space for my art in the future.

P.S. For $99 + god knows how much shipping would be, I can put 108 cars on the wall. For $25 + 5-9 hours of labour, I can hold 96. Much rather settle for the latter.

Are you sure you aren't referring to limited non-retail model? I've seen Seagraves & Centurys with extra detail & metallic paint jobs, and while they are super beautiful, they were fetching crazy money on eBay & TTP.

$18 in the US, not sure about them foreign countries. ;)

Yes the Reba's are cheaper, but as often as I put cars in, take cars out, move cars around, those crappy little metal tabs on the back break off. Not to mention, once I would actually hang them on the wall you have to take them down to add cars, etc. I just want a nice plastic case with an opening door on the front so they can stay on the wall, and no metal tabs to break off.

That Buick was last years Matchbox convention car.

@a6m5, "Matchbox Gathering Buick". It's a dealer model according to Ambassador Lamley. It looks so damn pretty though.

@R1600Turbo, True. I forget you do that. Mine are only packed with cars I won't need to collect any more of so there's no transferring of any kind anymore. That's what the loose cases are for. Stuff moves around in the totes. I've decided to keep track of which level they sat on via spreadsheet to keep things organized.

I had chance to check out the Hot Wheel collector youtube vid Ben posted. While I have very little to zero interest in original hot wheels, I still came away very impressed.

They are absolutely gorgeous. I came across Seagraves from some German toy show just over the weekend on eBay, but just didn't quite like it enough to pony up $40+.

I loved even the stock Buick Century cars, so I wish Matchbox did collector version of that car, similar to Hot Wheel brand.

Well I just sold a bunch of stuff, and will be spending Wednesday listing more cars so I'm not out a lot if I get it for $30. And in the last 2 years I have seen that car 3 times. Twice on eBay, once on TTP.

I had never seen that thing with 7 spokes. Rare.
He accepted my offer for $30 shipped, but after Andy mentioned his other items I went looking and came across a 300ZX and a Nissan Hardbody I needed to. Counter offered with $45 shipped for the 3.
@R1600Turbo, You got the Target Black Miata, don'tcha?
Yep, that one is fairly easy to get.

Edit: Got the 7-spoke Miata, Maroon 300ZX and the Black/Pink Nissan Hardbody all for $45 shipped. Think I did ok.

For the overpriced stuff he has on his E-bay page, you did more or less well. The others were 5 each?

I offered 30 for the Miata, 10 for the 300ZX and 5 for the Hardbody. So paid slightly less for all since it's free shipping too.
