Paid $40 for like 8 Land Rovers; really was after the metallic green with saw blades only to find out it was the only one that's beaten up. Missed that part in the auction listing. Still kind of cheesed. The plus side is that I also got two other Land Rovers that are uncommon now and shipping was free.

Unwilling to accept this crummy conditioned vehicle, I'm going to attempt restoring it to its metallic green as best as I can, as well as replacing the wheels.

On the other hand, I'd loved to have found the RX-7 or the WRX STi. RX-7, I think I ended up buying three(1 from Jason, 1 went to Ben), still working on the WRX.

Edit: @DwightSchrute12 - How much are the GL 1/43 F&F cars? I have seen the Gran Torino, but didn't check the price. Your STi do look sweeeeet!

Edit: Australian members?

$16 if I recall. Kinda pricey. I saw the Torino too a couple weeks back, but just couldn't pull the trigger on it for the price. But I dig the Impreza enough to do so.

I had to head over to Walmart to pick up online order today...... I made a hot wheel hunt out of the trip. One local chain, one K-Mart, two Walmart & 1 Toys R Us. I picked these cars up.

....................................................................

Exactly. Not one car! Walmart was just bare, and cars they did have left were crap. I did see few M2 on sale for $4.99 at another store, but all they had was blue or red version of the car below, which I already have, so I passed.

I almost bought a Greenlight display case(six cars) for $12.99, as it also came with the only Japanese car they make, that lame Civic Si coupe, but I don't display my cars, so.........

Thanks....... but from the looks of it, I'll never see it in stores.

Brought in a big haul today from Walmart. Found these basics first, but these aren't all.

Next, I found all these EF Civics, and not one will be opened just yet. As noted in a reply to R1600Turbo below, the store I found these EFs at is now depleted of them.

Next, thanks to these three Matchbox cars, I am now back to collecting Matchbox cars, but keeping them packaged instead of opening them, like I usually do.

Finally, I stopped at Big Lots and found this Hare Splitter from the Flying Customs line, but the blister was in deplorable condition, so I chose to open it for customizing.

I discovered the tools in the back, and thought that they were a cool touch to an already impressive casting.

Here is the blister, which was so torn up, that all I had to do to get the car out was pull some of the blister away. This is exactly how the car was on the peg. It only cost me $2.50, and already I have another Hare Splitter from the same line, so there was not a big loss here.

EDIT: There is a variation of the red '92 BMW M3 that has a rollcage, which is hard to find based on my experiences. Mine does not have the cage, but I've almost picked it up on a short card at Kmart numerous times.

EF hoarder.

Check all the wheels on them for me. :P

I also hoard the C7 Corvettes.

As for the wheels, every one on every EF are OH5SPs.

I ended up depleting the place of every EF they had on the pegs.

All those Civic's. :lol::crazy:

Nice score, Johnny. Really like the Dodge police car and the Hare Splitter. 👍

Thanks, Spacegoat. 👍. That Dodge, though.

I must have that Greenlight display case. That's the one I've got some of my HWC cars in. Right now it's got 3 Gulf cars, datsun, recent Blown Delivery and the hall of fame 156. It's got a couple holes in the back too to put on a wall if you wish. I've thought about it before but never got around to it.

And yeah, I have seen the GL F&F Torino at 2 different TRU, but the Impreza only at 1 of them, and only 1 left. I wonder if they are 4 to a case, 2 torinos and 2 imprezas.

If I'm being honest....there's not enough civics here. :P

Why so many Civics? I've picked up three so far, but still looking for a couple with decent tampos.

They are quite nice. If I ever feel like displaying these cars, they would be my first pick.

In all seriousness, I actually agree with that.

I've heard that they are hugely popular with collectors, like the Kool Kombi, and are hard to find because of that. If not, then I'd be willing to sell and customize. Plus, I'm attached to those as much as I am the C7 Corvettes.

Here it is, the Tomica Lotus Evora GTE.

This is the 2nd modern Lotus that Tomica came up with, and there will be a 3rd one, which is the Exige RG-T. It comes in 2 colors, white and yellow (special color version) and both colors have matte finish.

The biggest surprise is that it reached the shores just a week after it was released in Japan. Normally, the distributor would get hold and sell new Tomicas in major toy stores a month or two after the Japan release. This is a rare case.

Sadly though, while everyone is wishing for it, there will not be a Tomica Limited version of it, as the line has been recently killed off to make way for the Vintage and Vintage Neo lines. The Exige was lucky enough to receive that treatment.

Impressions? Not bad, but not great either. The wheels are still a big deal breaker. Not to mention the lack of side mirrors (well, it's normal for this scale, I guess I have to let it pass...)

Some would say that this is Tomica's answer to HW's Evora GT4. Bring it on!

My pick? It would be the Tomica. While it loses against the HW in wheel design, it wins in the size. The HW's wheels look cartoonish, especially the rear wheels. Same goes to their rear spoilers. The Tomica model has more realistic proportions, and that's why it gets my vote.

That's pretty cool, @RCKakashi14. 👍

Hot Wheel cards are my favourite. Tomica just pastes in a car... that is if we're going to go artistic on this subject.

How many of you guys seen the Battlestar Galactica or whatever star fighter thing from the Retro Entertainment? I took a good look at one for the first time today, and it looked like something I'd see in the dollar store. I wouldn't spend $5 on a tie fighter(my fav) if they made one, unless there's a landing gear with real riders or something I don't know about!

Is it just me, or does Tomica always have one of the best box art, if not the best?
Tomica box art reminds me of Tamiya box art. If Tamiya were to do (A1 size) box art prints at an affordable price, and i had the room to display them, i would probably buy them.

I've not only saw it, I've purchased it. As for special features, I'm not sure.

Same, I have both of them actually. The Cylon Raider and the Colonial Viper. $5 isn't much for them, worth it to me.

For me, any car or series that is more tailored to collectors is worth every penny. I try to buy as many as I can, but no doubles.

EDIT: I'm not sure if this particular car should be placed in the Scale Model Thread or here, but here is a 1:144 scale (no, that's not a typo) Terry Labonte NASCAR car:
