Im 89.6% complete and like many of the people who have posted before me I have inherited the tuning bug. My goal is to find the car with the best power to weight ratio (fully tuned) so far my best is a tvr cerberan/cerbera speed 12 (the prize one)with 0.836 or somthing like that. All I have to do now is win the circuit de la sarthe ll 24 hour race and a over half the missions.

WHAT THE?!?!?!?!? how'd you find the time to finish those 24 hour events?

No - you leave the game on pause when you aren't driving.

For heaven's sakes, there's enough threads covering people's exploits in the hyper-long endurance races. You can read them for yourself.

Every member of the 100% club has done the three 24 hour races - by definition. They've done the whole game, so they must have.

sorry. i'm just trying to learn. i don't have the time to devote to endurance races this long.

A 24 hour race is two weeks of playing a couple of hours a day. Do you play a couple of hours a day?

In the other place you complained about the 24 hour races, when someone suggested B-Spec, you said it would take too long. Why? You don't need to supervise B-Spec - as long as you have a car that's better than the AI, you can just start the race, turn on "overtake," and turn off the TV and let the PS2 run for 24 hours. That shouldn't be a problem, right...?

yes indeed! but only on the weekends. now do you see why i'm trying to learn? and it's mostly on friday!

that is a BIG problem. first of all, i'm not allowed to play gt4 all the time. for about 4 hours in intervals at the most. i have to share my game. with my brother. that's why i'm trying to find a way to finish the dreaded mission 34 but also, you are gonna need tires after a while. and fuel. if the game is on all night, and you don't moniter it, you'll lose. but there's no way i could finish something that long with my parents!

But that's my point. You don't need to monitor B-Spec. You start it and it will pit in itself select "OK" to the default options (full fuel tank, B-Spec mode, and a new set of the tires you started with), and it won't need any supervision whatsoever once you start it.

Also with B-spec, (if you can only play for four hour intevals) if you x3 the first four hours you are playing you will have actually completed almost 12 hours of the race.

Therefore you ask to be the last one to play at night before bedtime, leave the game on over-night, B-spec will pit and refuel himself, (by not being their and choosing 'OK' when he pits you loose approx 5 seconds, That's all).

When you get up in the morning you will have approx 4 hours of real time left. If you then start x3 again you will have it completed it in less than 1 & 1/2 hours.

Conclusion you sit there for a total of 5 & 1/2 hours and B-spec will do the rest while you sleep. EASY

Just remember to get an over-kill car for the race.
e.g.
Nurb 24hr - Anything over 500BHP will usually do.
Sarthe 24hrs - Mazda 787b comes to mind with a Turbo 4, Oil Change, Chassis Refresh and Super Hard tyres.

Back on topic, here's my 100% file, 80 gold licenses, shame there's a lot of B-spec running but there we go!

now you know there's no way any normal human will win gold on all 80 license tests on the first try. it took you a while to do that, didn't it?

Lots of people have 80 Licence golds.

As you may suspect, there's already a thread for that too.

The best I have ever gotten in GT-4 was 94.5 percent. Then the worst thing happend...I lost my PS2 memory card with the game....I suspect I got jacked by a room mate.

Now I have a replacement game and its taking me waaaay too long to get back all those cars.

Is there any chance to find a saved file with a high percentage of completion?

I absolutly getting all those golds medals on the S-Class! I spent days knocking my best times by thousanths of a second at a time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

o_O

I'm currently 43.9% and blitzing it ;)

I have the potential to finish it, got the cars to (Formula 1, and all the 4 & 3 million dollar cars) And heaps of cash, just dont have the time,

I'd rather drift + try to get best time (:

Add me to the list, I am 100% Complete!

After 11724 Days (I hadn't realized that I started racing in 1977), I finally did it!!

Two nights ago, I passed Mission 34 @ Nurburgring which meant that I had to make room in my Garage for a Nissan R89C and a Black Gran Turismo, and put the Magic 100% number on my status screen.

During my first run thru of the game, I got to about 99% complete. I was unable to beat Opera Paris (Mission 13), Sarthe II Nissan R92CP (Mission 18), Infineon Corvette (Mission 29) and of course the McLaren SLR at Nurburgring (Mission 34).

So I changed gears and got hooked on the 200 point A-spec race quest. After many miles on N2 tires I reached my goal of 100,000 A-spec points back in April.

I then decided that it was time to complete the game. Mission 13, 18 and 29 fell quickly as my driving skills were much improved. And finally, after many tries, I was able to beat the ' 54 Mercedes to the finish line.

Its a fantastic feeling to get to the 100% mark. Its been a great journey.

As you can see from the attached screen shots, I have 38 Golds. My next goal is to work on the License tests. I will try to get as close to 80 Golds as I can, skills permitting. Plus I need to let B-spec Bob put some miles on various cars (right now he is driving my Black BMW 120i on the 'Ring).

Good luck to everyone still working on their games.

Respectfully,
GTsail290

I kind of regret not getting 100% completion on the game, I got to 98.9% complete and couldn't find the motivation to polish off the grand canyon rally and two or 3 Formula Gran Turismo races.

I was not sure if I would ever complete the game either. But since its essentially the only video game that I play, I finally got there.

It took me quite a while to pass the Grand Canyon rally's at the Hard level as well. I still don't drive very well on the dirt tracks. I was finally able to win using the Mitsubishi Evo Super Rally Car '03. I think I had to add the stage 1 turbo to give me a HP boost. I don't use NOS on the dirt tracks, but you could use NOS to get in front off the starting line and just block the rest of the way.

Most of the Formula Gran Turismo races are doable once you get used to the speed. It just takes a long time to do them all. I won them all using a stock Formula GT. (Edit: when I said stock, I meant that I did not add ballast. I did change the gearing, downforce and the suspension to match each race.) I still need to go back to all of them and try to get 200 points. Which ones did you have problems at?

Gtsail290, Check out this post for my info regarding 200 points in the FGT series. Most of the time I used the Black 787b except for Suzuka.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have used the Mazda 787B (sometimes with a turbo upgrade) to win a number of races against various LM and Group C lineups. Its a nice ride.

I will try it against the Formula GT cars. Since the Mazda goes further between pit stops, I should be able to use this to my advantage.

I was just re-reading all the posts in the 100% thread, and find it quite interesting reading about all the different methods used to reach this goal.

Some drivers ace the License tests first. Some get there in very few days (WOW!). Some get there without B-Spec Bob. Others, like myself, have raced a lot in both A-Spec and B-Spec modes.

It just goes to show that the game can be enjoyed in many different ways.

I only said that because I wanted to know what his last event was. I'll bet it was the Formula Gt World. To me, that is the most gruesome event on GT4. it makes me :nervous:.

More likely to be one of the missions, M34 is generally the event that will hold people back from 100% completion.

If you just wanted to 'finish' the game Doing the FGT championship in B-spec is easily done.

M34 because 'you' have to drive it will most likely hamper 75% of the people.
