20 million credits for free!

M4 costs 120 000 credits, I believe this also works the same as the VGT
It works because the M4 isn't a car that originally in the game. Anything that is arbitrary is assigned the ridiculous sell price in 1.00. So theoretically any new car added to the game can do this trick. M4 is best because it allows you to buy a whole lot of a cheap car to sell in 1.00 to stock up on cars to sell in 1.01 which makes sense as cars in 1.01 cost a great deal less compared to 1.00. So get to it quickly, and lets get ourselves online where we belong.

Doing some quick calculations if you were to do this with the M4 you could amass just under 1 Billion credits.

1. Buy 1 M4 and do the glitch to get 20 million
2. Go back to 1.01, spend that whole 20 million on M4's, which would be 166 M4's
3. Re-do the glitch and for every M4 you sell in v1.00 buy a 20 million dollar car
4. Go back to 1.01 and now you have 166 20 million credit cars worth 6 million each.

Thus, 166 x 6 000 000 = 996 000 000 Credits

You left out the all important "to me" qualifier at the beginning. Because the whole point of GT games is the same as every other game... to have fun. However you get your gearhead fun is fine by me (so long as it doesn't step on anyone else's fun, no one likes a griefer).

Yes, resale value is a flat 30% for every car. So all in the 20 million club sell for 6 million.

(bit stupid when you think about it though... the classics like a GTO should really appreciate over time rather than give a flat 70% depreciation once you get it home)

I'm not sure why your post seems so hostile towards me, especially when you didn't even bother quoting the whole thing...

I don't think I'd enjoy GT6 if I had all that money to start with.. the whole point of GT is level up your garage slowly and start small and end up with super cars at the end. Although the grind to get all those cars is a bit too much. I feel like at higher levels the payout should be much greater.

The best thing PD can do is give you a winning bonus as you advance. For example if you completed 50% of the game, you get a 50% bonus on top of the prize money.

See the part at the beginning of my original post where I start of by saying how I personally like playing GT6, no where in there am I saying how others should play the game or set any rules for others or tell others not to do this hack.

To those of you doing this. Make sure neither the Mercedes OR the new BMW M4 is the car you have selected in your garage. Otherwise it will freeze up when you click on the garage.

I just had to do this 3 times to get it right. First time I was in the Mercedes, game froze. 2nd time I realized I had to change cars and picked the M4, game froze a 2nd time. Then I finally got into one of my purchased vehicles and it worked.

What a pain in the ass!

You are right but the only issue is, with 1 PS3, the going back and forth. Makes it tedious :\

As you can only, from what i can tell, get 20 million max when you sell in 1.0

Thanks I'm pretty sure this was the problem I was getting

(actually I have no idea if it's possible or not)

Which is why when you hit that 20 million max in 1.00, you would buy a 20 million credit car, thus sending you back to 0, meaning you can sell another M4 for another 20 million in 1.00 and repeat the cycle.

If I'm correct then you would only need to re-download patch 1.01 twice; once to get the initial 20 million and then go back, then again after you have converted all the M4's to 20 million credit cars.

Bet you guys all feel great for cheating. But that is an absolute game killer. No fun at all for you now. Sorry.

Disagree totally. My enjoyment comes from buying cars, tuning them up, painting them, trying out different wheels and aero kits, test driving them on track and making tweaks.

For this I need credits.

What I don't enjoy is playing the same old races for two hours straight just to get enough money to buy a stage 3 turbo.

Now, I've got a garage of 200 high end cars, 50m credits and now I can choose whether to spend time my time tuning them, customising them, going in to photo mode, playing my mate at 2 player split screen using race cars, etc etc.

Now the game has opened up!

Plus, I've still got 70% of the game left to complete and that's before all the seasonal races and the DLC comes on to the scene.

From already doing one round of this earlier today, (before the M4 glitch was realized), I now have 50,000,000 credits in my bank. I could turn that into 416 M4's. Follow that through and it is nearly 2.5 billion credits.

I've got 50m in credits, plus 200 high end cars (including most cars which cost over 2m credits), plus 15x Ford GT40 Race Cars in my garage. That's another 90m credits backed up.

I can't see myself spending more than that.

Let's just hope PD don't ban the selling of the 20m credit cars!

Exactly, in-fact if we want to get freaky, and not include the garage cap

2 500 000 000 / 120 000 = 20 833 M4's

20 833 x 6 000 000 = 124 998 000 000 credits

LOL

This is so true right here. There is so much more to Gran Turismo than just grinding for hours to buy one upgrade, (just to find out all that money you made is going to be spent reconditioning your car). There is no time to enjoy the other aspects of the game when all you worry about is trying to earn a couple hundred thousand credits to buy the new M4, much less a 20M credit classic Ferrari race car. I would much rather spend my time working through the career mode. Racing my friends online. Creating masterpieces in the photo mode. Etc.

Anybody out there who thinks they are going to be able to fully enjoy all of the aspects of this game, including all of the cars, without using this glitch is completely naive. Everybody was cheering when the Delta Wing was announced for GT6. Then everybody was sad when it was pulled. Then happy again when they put it back in the game. How much is the Delta Wing? Like 7M credits? Better save up every single credit you earn completing the career mode because that's all you're going to be able to buy. Oh, you wanted the Ferrari FFX too? Lol. Better go through and play THE ENTIRE FREAKING CAREER MODE again. Yes, I understand that the earlier races don't pay out like the later ones do. For somebody that enjoys racing a wide variety of cars in Gran Turismo, you'll be grinding so much it won't even be fun anymore.

Ahh yes! this makes sense now.

Thanks for the tip.

I wish there was an easier way to this. Downloading 1.01 over and over again takes forever :C
How many cars are you going for? You shouldn't have to do over and over again. Doing it once will net you 400 million and that will let you grab the vast majority of the costliest cars.

Can't agree more, I love license test, Mission challenge, races, etc..
But for the amount of prizes they given...how the heck we can get 1200 cars? that is impossible or how many years of life you can waste for a game??
I just purchased all recommended cars for all classes, so I can finish the game.

I really thank to whoever discovered this glitch so I can spend more time with my family and do more real life work.

It's more than a personal preference of playing game ~ cheers for those who love it :)

A trick I learned to avoid going back and forth...

1. in 1.01 version, buy BMW M4, Buy Mercedez VGT, and Honda NSX Concept

2. Sell one of the cars above, then buy as much as cars as you want to spend all credits

3. After you used up all the credits, sell the next car, and repeat with the remain car.

That will make you have 60,000,00.00 to spend in one round

why not just buy three BMWs?

If they didn't have the micro transactions to purchase credits and actually gave us the prize money and cars as in GT5's career then we would not have this issue - having to grind for two hours to get 2 cars and not even enough money to modify one is terrible
You should load GT5 v1.0 up and run a race or two before saying things like this.
GT5 was ridiculous before updates with seasonals, etc.
