20 million credits for free!

the thing is though, how do they patch it? lol. they can't stop people installing version 1.00 can they? and since the bug exists on any new cars how would they fix it.

They make game saves only valid for certain versions. By ensuring you can only a game save that is locked to v1.01, it stops the exploit.

That is the easiest way to do it, other than deleting everyones game saves or increasing the buying price og the GTV cars.

They need us as customers, to buy their monthly DLC packs for the next 12-18 months, and sales are down 80% as it is !

So, no, it makes no commercial sense to even try to 'punish' people that have used this expolit. But then again, it makes no "gaming sense" to create a racing / Ai system like this one either!!!!!!!!

I don't think you get it do you? You need to actually play through the game! I have only been playing for 5 days, and have all the cars and credits I need. Not to mention what you are doing is against PD.. especially if getting credits is monetised.

Have fun cheating.

But being wealthy enough to pay $120 for each 20M car, isn't cheating ????

Is it "fair" that someone who is unemployed, and has the time to spend 100s of hours grinding, gets to earn more credits that someone who can only the game for an hour a day ?

They will no doubt fix this exploit, and ruin many people's game saves in the process (this has already started !), and continue to revel in the fact that prize cars and prize money, in-game, are severly deflated deliberately to encourage people to buy in-game credits, at disgusting prices.

They better revise their policy or I for one will be boycotting their DLC and they won't get another dime out of me.

 I love this thread.

The question is not whether or not to do it. It's how many times do you do it?

I'm on my 2nd go around. I'll probably stop after selling 20 VGT, It's a pain re-downloading the PSN version.

If you delete the game and re-download it is it on version 1.00? just wondering because i took me like 10 hours to download the game

Well, something changed for sure.

Tried doing it some mins ago, I could not even get in the garage. It would drop me back in the home page. Pressing "Start" and trying to sell a vehicle is also not possible. Safe to say that it got fixed?

Maybe you have a VGT selected?

Nope, I did not have the VGT selected, I was using the Renault Trophy car.

Although I should mention that after pressing "Start" and choosing the Merc to sell it, my PS3 froze. So I advise against that.

Prevent the selling of 20m credit cars?
Make the VGT 20m to buy?
Make v1.01 or v1.01 save data incompatible with v1.00?

or put a limit on the number of times a car can be bought in a 24 hour period, or even certain types of cars can be bought

However, if GT6 develops in the same way GT5 did, after a couple more updates and patches, it'll take so long to keep updating that most people won't bother - especially if prize money and or the number of prize cars increase

I like how your post has been posted more or less exactly the same, in this thread, about 50 times before.
Nah, another thread, where all references to this glitch were deleted by moderators.

This is a new post, and has not - as yet - been deleted.

It is however, being discussed on about 20 well known gaming sites, including the Official Playstation Magazine site.

The news is big - it is like: "trending".

Anybody out there who thinks they are going to be able to fully enjoy all of the aspects of this game, including all of the cars, without using this glitch is completely naive. Everybody was cheering when the Delta Wing was announced for GT6. Then everybody was sad when it was pulled. Then happy again when they put it back in the game. How much is the Delta Wing? Like 7M credits? Better save up every single credit you earn completing the career mode because that's all you're going to be able to buy. Oh, you wanted the Ferrari FFX too? Lol. Better go through and play THE ENTIRE FREAKING CAREER MODE again. Yes, I understand that the earlier races don't pay out like the later ones do. For somebody that enjoys racing a wide variety of cars in Gran Turismo, you'll be grinding so much it won't even be fun anymore.

Not everyone considers "playing through the entire career mode again" a bad thing. While I'm not literally doing that, I am taking cars that I like and doing events they can enter. The other night, I took the Nissan 300ZX and did the National B events it could participate in. In one hour, I earned 60,000 Cr., which is good since I'm going for the cheapest cars I want first. And now, I'm taking that same car through the National A and International B events. I can only imagine the large amount of money I'll gain when I start doing this with more cars. And, oh yeah, I'm having fun doing this and it doesn't feel like grinding at all.

And no, I'm not trying to own every car in the game, like I did with GT5. In fact, when I got GT6, I made a list of cars I wanted and I don't even think the total reaches the 500 car garage limit.

For me, events don't stop being fun just because I did them already. Forza Horizon taught me this and that's why I'm still playing it over a year after it came out while a lot of other people complained about being done with the game within a few days. And looking at this forum, it seems GT6 is getting the same criticism.

Yes you can with PSN version. Buy, rent, borrow a physical copy. The system will treat it like a separate game, but the save file works across both. Since you have both a patched and unpatched copy, you can swap between versions without deleting / downloading anything.

Thanks man, but here in Argentina you can´t rent anything :(

With luck you´ll find a disc version, from about U$S 100 .... believe me, it´s quite hard to "game" down here

Thanks for the message but for now I´ll have to do it the hard and long way :)

It does work on the digital version, anyone who says it doesn't did it wrong or not at all. You have to delete the whole game and download again.
It was me who said it didn't work for the psn version. Mainly because the thought of deleting the game and redownloading it to get version 1.00 never crossed my mind. My apologies. (My internet will only allow me to do it once per month and that will mean to be without internet for the rest of the month)

Well I realised I purchased the US digital version cause it was cheaper, so If I rent a copy it will be a local NZ version so incompatible game saves! sigh

Have backed up my save and deleted the game, downloading again. Will only try this once I guess.

You guys that are stockpiling, should makesure that you buy all the parts for those cars. There is no telling how PD is going to fix this glitch. In GT5, a lot of cars got stuck in users other accounts because you couldn't transfer cars any more. Most people went on a GT6 shopping binge, so it's not hard for PD to figure out who did what. The game does keep track of the date acquired, so they could dial stuff back if they wanted to. Hopefully you guys kept a clean game save somewhere just in case.

You do realize that the system is broken for playing fairly right? I mentioned this a few pages back. I also have been playing since the 6th and I have beat all the races and done the lot. Your rewards for completion are too low. So you have to resort to the grinding method. Well let's see here that would be fine if the game wasn't released with all the glitches it has and the payouts didn't stink.

The glitch in particular that I am referring too is the body rigidly deteriorates at 350 miles. And for some cars that makes the cars undrivable(aka race cars that are pretty much required to run in the high paying events). So what do you do? Restore it right? However that cost more to do in the race cars(500k)than you make overall. So you can't constantly grind the mini endurance races to play fairly if that system is broken, and the game should not have been released this soon.

I found the there is only one race event you can do over and over(Like the wind on route x). 44k for approximately 4 minutes worth of driving. So you would have to do that event 455 times approximately without the cost of your deteriorated body rigidly coming in(if it was fixed) It would take approximately 115 hours of driving time to get close to a expensive car. You got 115 hours to do the same race over and over until next year? Good for you then! Some people don't have the time to waist.

So your options are you can do that or you could pay the ridiculous prices for the credits or you can glitch, either way the system of playing fairness has been broken since you put the disk in your ps3.

Have fun cheating.
Nah. Cheating isn't fun. In fact it is so tedious constantly buying and selling and deleting and downloading. It's nearly as tedious as 'racing' against the lame AI in career mode.

You won't catch me using this glitch. I'll be too busy having a blast doing some real racing against real people online in my FXX, or my Zonda, or my Jag, or my GT40 or....... let's see, so many cars, so much time.

As you get further and further into the game, the exploit is less and less valuable. Capped credits are 20 mil in 1.00, whereas in 1.01 and beyond it is definitely above that. The install time and the restoring of images (which need to be done for every single car purchased before glitch was used) will only increase in time duration.

I was initially against this but after reading through this thread and realising how PD has screwed us over, I'm actually considering doing this. My question is if I make an entire backup of my ps hdd to my external hd and then delete the gt6 game data utilty and do the glitch, would I be able to restore the 1.01 update from my external hd? I'm unable to download large volumes of data due to a capped internet connection.
