20 million credits for free!

So I did it, and considering IGN posted the video its likely so wide spread we shouldn't have any negative repercussion. But I do hope this issue doesn't get prioritized over, or take away from future content updates.

That being said, I've made my own rule;
1) only do it once -reason: so I can use cars I want for the career and not forced to use the underwhelming reward cars and freely explore the upgrades of certain cars. Also to not buy anything over 5 mil so there is still things to earn.

This also reignites the process of discovery as not all the cars are great, and removing buyers remorse after investing a lot in upgrades and tuning only to realize the car just isn't fun to drive... For instance I bought an RUF, still fun to drive but much more of a handful than in GT 5 with the new tire and physics I.e. Easier to cook your tires accelerating through a sweeper, especially in a RR.

I'm also trusting that seasonals may again yield strong rewards. Its pretty common for balancing of game economies post launch and when they see a drastic under utilization of the dealership, or lack of accessing all those cars they worked so hard to include/update, some changes will happen.

So guys, I'm not going to run any update until everything checks out. If any of you gets banned or have his garage/money reset, please let me know so that I continue playing offline until either I'm bored of the game or it's safe to update.

If that happens I'll box up GT6 and send it here:

International shipping charges be 🤬.

^^I did it last night, just finished up and downloading 1.01 now. I'll let you know when it's done in about 20-30 minutes!

Is the GT server still down? If so then I probably won't be able to get the in-game patches

psn version 100% still works usa...........had no issues downloading update to 1.01......cant confirm the ability to get online as of yet.

none of my friends glitchers/non glitchers can log in yet. not sure if it will matter but im going to redux the thumbnails while i wait for the servers (i didnt do this last time) a little paranoid. has anyone from gt planet been able to log in yet? has it been confirmed if its maintenance or a patch?

off topic (sorry) can someone link me to a ferrari fxx tune if available?

1.01 installed, then I got the ID=1:536 error and no prompt for the in-game patch. Everything is OK but I'm not going to do anything until the servers are back up and it's fully patched.

Crossing my fingers that the patch doesn't just take it all from me! Scared face emoticon

same here.......a little worried i have confirmed people online as we speak who didn't glitch.

Well...I did the glitch last night, everything went right, bought around 150 cars, banked up some millions then before starting the game I re downloaded my anniversary cars, started the game and updated all car images. I did a bunch of races then I realized I forgot to DL my anniversary suits and paints so I saved, quit game, DL my stuff and restart game. For some reason the game asked me if I wanted to load the back up save. I clicked NO since I didn't want to lose the dozen I-A races I just did and horror! My progression got reset! I was at 75% and now at 0%, lost all my cars (even the anny ones), lost all my stars but everything is unlock as it was, only not completed. Meaning I can do I-A races. I still have my 50 million in bank though. The stats shows my millage and wins are intact but stars and licences and progression at 0%.

Now, I did make a USB back up save before doing the glitch but it has been corrupt for some reason...I got screwed for glitching :( . I think I can still manage to get the remaining trophies for the plat starting from where I am but I have to restart from scratch if I want my anniversary cars back and proceed to 100%.

I knew I was taking risks by glitching but I had no idea that the game would see my back up save as corrupt afterward.

You didn't get screwed for glitching, the game is just unstable. I had a corrupted save before I even knew about the glitch but I backup my save before and after I run the game as a matter of course. People have also lost all the cars out of their garage and haven't even done the glitch once. You can't trust it and have to make multiple backups of your save at every opportunity, even when part way through a glitching session (couldn't think of a better term). I did it once no problem, second go my save was corrupted afterwards so I rolled back to the second backup I'd made after doing the glitch the first time (make sense?). I went through the process again and it worked just fine.

So I bought an M4 in each colour and two Acura NSX concepts but still "only" ended up with 20 mil..
You're doing it wrong.
You go back into past, and sell those 1 by 1, spending down your credits down in between.

As you get further and further into the game, the exploit is less and less valuable. Capped credits are 20 mil in 1.00, whereas in 1.01 and beyond it is definitely above that. The install time and the restoring of images (which need to be done for every single car purchased before glitch was used) will only increase in time duration.
I don't want to have to focus on getting further & further into the game in single player.
I want to play online.
And there's not even a Shuffle option anymore for that. :grumpy:
And there's no bspec remote racing.
And the credits are just way way overpriced.

Everyone complains there are not enough credits at first, of course.
And later it becomes easier, yeah.
But some of us are anxious to drive the cars we really like with our pals, and completing career mode isn't a big deal.
I think people complaining that the credit payouts are ridiculously bad or more bad than other versions, can't remember how they had to grind or bspec in previous GTs. It's always like this, and it's nothing new.

But it's not like getting 40mil extra credits is like this big deal in the grand scheme of things. It's just a boost to get going online for me.

Don't worry man, corrupted saves are nothing new in GT. I had one myself 2 nights ago, about 4 hours after I finished credit farming and though, "Uh oh, they got me". But I did have a good save that was 4 hours old so all I lost was a tune. Reloaded the save I made right after credit farming and everything was back to normal. One thing I did do after that happened was this:

http://www.ps3blog.net/2011/01/28/tips-and-tricks-ps3-rebuild-database-faq-recovery-menu/ <<< PS3 Database rebuild

There is also a link in there for a "File Restore". Both of these do not affect game saves or game data but, "it will remove messages received and sent. Any playlists you have set up. If you organize your games/videos/music/photos into albums or as I like to call them “folders” you will have to set that up again".

Both are accompanied with clear concise video that guides you through the process. I did both of these to my old fatty and no problems whatsoever.

Back online now and up to date with the updates, and it's all fine. We can all relax again.

Can't confirm if the glitch is still possible but I'm not going to need to do it again. I gave myself a 500,000cr+ limit to what I bought so I still have more than 100 sub 500,000cr cars that I want, which I'm looking forward to grinding through

I believe so yes. All the connection problems we're not tied into the glitch. They we're just down. Mine worked fine this morning

Thank you for the link but my corrupt save isn't on the HDD, it is on a USB key, I don't think the restore function would affect it and since it is corrupt I cannot copy it on HDD.

But thanks for your support :)

Thanks for the quick answer to my issue!

Since they don't allow selling cars to our fellow drivers online is there a way to "gift" some cars or do the same glitch for my sons account as he plays on the same PS3? If so, details would be a great help!

Will we all loose our cars and credits the way it's sounding? They can't do that can they ? I'm playing offline for now

Both myself and Johnnypenso have answered this in the last 30 minutes. No you won't, or at least if you do, its not because you did the credit glitch but rather because the game is still unstable. Make plenty of backups of your save.

All the paranoid people about suing the players, can I get what you are smoking? Why would they waste their time and money. If you buy the game theyve already made money off you.

If there basing their revenue off microtansactions then that is their problem.

If they fix/patch it-then they do and if I lose all my stuff-then so be it. Isnt that the risk we take by doing this?

I guess ... couldnt they see what people have spent and say for everyone who spent say 400mill (20 Mercs) account gets reset? I mean its been five days no way could anyone spend that legit.

Who knows I am having fun before this and will after regardless...

Sorry, I guess I didn't word it properly. My corrupt save was also on a USB Key, but I had a good save on the USB from 4 hours previously that I backed up to PC. I back up all my USB saves to PC because every time you save to USB it overwrites the previous one on there and if the new one is corrupt your up the creek without a paddle as you well know now:boggled:.

The maintenance stuff I did was after I got everything running fine. I've been having little problems with GT5 at the end and Last of US just freezing up on me in menus or not starting the game to begin with and freezing up, so I did the PS maintenance. Only been 2 days and so far so good. Can't hurt to do a little maintenance once in awhile.
