Did anyone predict the results of this one? :sly:

"Congratulations Lewis, you, er, won..."

And McLaren wonder why they're seen as a cold team. :D

Wow, certainly a crazy race. Definitely a shame about Kubica - hopefully he's properly ok...

Hamilton deserved that win though. 👍

Well done Sato too!

Hamilton 48pts
Alonso 40pts
Massa 33pts
Raikkonen 27pts

McLaren 88pts
Ferrari 60pts

I think we know where this seasons going if this keeps up

Gutted for Kubica though, best wishes and speedy recovery

I wouldnt mind a lovely 15 car pileup like at spa a few years back, bviously I dont wish any drivers injury but we all love crashes in which no one is hurt!

:D

well I do anyway :nervous:

Well there was plenty of crashes today, no one likes to see a crash like kubicas, that was terrible.

well done to hami:tup:

What? You're not allowed to shake hands with anyone before the trophy's given? Or did I mis-hear that? :odd:

Sato 4EVA! That was one heck of a race, and finally some overtaking - without crashing it at the same time. Best race I watched so far - and the only one too

Does this make Hamilton the first black GP winner?
He's the first black GP driver, so, yeah.

G.T

The driver's weight is part of the car. They could purposefully run the car light then, while shaking hands, he could have been handed something small and heavy to bring the weight back up before he was weighed.

Well I have to go ahead and say it, great drive by Lewis Hamilton! It has been wonderful seeing him do well all year. It was hard to have any opinion of him before this year, as I had not see him race before. Great stuff! 👍 It is going to be some very enjoyable years in the coming if he can continue on with these results and the speed he has shown.

Kimi has been an absolute disappointment after the first race of the year. Felipe Massa has consistently outperformed him and I can really see that happening for the rest of the year. Kimi just looks somewhat lost out on the track. Just does not seem to consistently have speed.

It is great news to hear Kubica has only a broken leg after that horrible, horrible crash! 👍 Here's to a speedy recovery.

As I have already said, great pass by Sato! 👍 Super Best Friends must be extremely pumped after this finish. Hopefully they can continue to get faster!

What an extremely bizarre race! :odd: With four Safety Car periods, one driver putting it into a wall during a SC period, two disqualifications, and a bunch of retirements, it was just all around wierd. We can only hope that next week's United States Grand Prix will be as exciting.

Has to be one of the most entertaining and exciting races I've seen fo a few years. Good that Kubica is essentially okay. It was a horrific crash.
Hamilton was flawless and Heidfield did well. Wurz did well on a 1 stop strategy and Kovalainen kept his head to get 4th from 22nd on the grid.
Surprised Alonso made so many errors. Watching Sato overtake him was priceless!
Raikkonen was never on the ball and Massa made a bad decision leving the pit lane on a red light.
This is a race to watch again for sure.
Great for Hamilton. He is without doubt one of the best F1 drivers around today and more than able to match Alonso, Massa and Raikonnen! He really could win the World Championship this year. Who would have thought it?

Second stupid attempt by Alonso this season :irked:
Make that his first of five stupid mistakes in just this race... three of which could have easily ended his race day, and the first was half a second from not only ending his race day, but ending his teammate Hamilton's day - which considering how well Hamiton drove, and deservedly wont he race - would have been an absolute disaster had Alsono hit Hamilton at the start of the race when he foolishly cut in front of him while cutting the corner.

Congrats to Hamilton for a magnificent drive and his much deserved first F1 victory! 👍

As for the race... what an unbelievably fugly mess!!!!

Alonso spending enough time racing off-road made it appear he was trying out for a WRC ride next year. ;)

The Safety car was used on this track nearly as much as it was used all last year. ;)

Everyone was skidding all over the place... even the Safety car driver!

Skids... spins... crashes.... debris & oil everywhere... cars picking up crash debris... pit penalties... rule violations... stupid mistakes... bad decisions by race managers... black flags... what a truly fugly race!!!!!!

One good thing that Nick was in 2nd fromt he start and he had the pace before the safety cars which is a good sign for it Indy :) , now is it going to be Glock(sp?) or vettel? I vote vettle for the 2nd car with Nick

My lord that was needed after Monaco..

First off, Kubica's crash gave me goosebumps, truly frightening but it's a testiment to the strength of a modern-day Formula 1 car. I wish Robert a speedy recovery!

Lewis was simply on a different planet today, Schumacher must have been wondering if even he could have kept up with him if he was on track today. Simply incredible. What happened to Alonso?! He's loosing his consistancy he had back in '05 and '06, the move on the first lap was stupid and was never able to recover, Monza quali last season looked along way away.

Ferrari gave a poor showing although you can blame for the SC's involvement partly with Kimi having to qeue up. None the less however, Kimi lost the places at the start and he paid the price. Massa and Fisi must have had a bit of a brain fart after running the red light, Kubica must have been laughing in his helmet as they drove past!

Two drivers who really impressed today were Nick Heidfeld and Takuma Sato. Heidfeld was the closest driver to Lewis for the whole race, I just hope BMW can give the development a wee bit more of a push and we could very well see consistant podiums from the German. Taku was brilliant once again, one wonders what he could have done back at BAR if he was like this. His pass on Fernando was fantastic, it had me cheering! :)

It was a fantastic race, although I bet Bernie will raise the safety levels at the circuit after Robert's smash.

I hope this is the case, as the only driver this season that excites me to watch is Hamilton, and based on this race, the only one driving like a veteran world champion. 👍

It's too bad Hamilton and Schumacher just missed having the opportunity to race against each other... it would have been great fun to watch.

I also thought Hiedfeld drove brilliantly today, especially after recovering from that nearly "choreographed" hard spinout late in the race... of course with the SC making so many appearances, it helped get the lead lap cars a chance at the end to move up.

Unless Alonso and Masa can get their heads on straight and until Kimi decides to show he has the motivation, passion, and desire to be champion... I'm really hoping Hamilton & Heidlfeld lead the way for the rest of the season. 👍

Nick complained about the marbels thing (what is it anyway? bit of rubber?) which really seem a bit dangrous , hoepfully we'll know exactly what hapnned with Robert but I feel these marbel things might have something to do with it, my hear nearly stopped when i saw , and my mother who was sitting next wasn't watching , when she saw the crash she freaked out ... I really don't want to ever see that happen to some one else

C'mon Bee lets be honest about Sato's pass on Alonso..... Alonso certainly has alot more to lose if there was contact between the two, but it was nice to see an Aguri pass a McLaren. Reminded me of the time Damon Hill passed a Ferrari in an Arrows. lol

Superb drive from Hamilton from start to finish, what he may lack in F1 experience he certainly makes up for with pure driving talent. Alonso, god knows what was going on in his cockpit.

Ferrari, terrible showing from the Scuderia to be frank, but not enitirely their fault, until Massa was black flagged. I guess thats given Kimi some breathing room.

Congrats to Wurz for getting a podium. For me, its nice to see a Williams finish in a podium position.

Who knows? Maybe Micheal could be tempted back for a season for this challenge from an incredible rookie. I'd love to see it happen also.

Not sure but is this the first podium this year that hasn't been locked out by McLaren and Ferrari drivers? lol

We laughed so loud in the football club when the 2 cars drifted, and eventually spun in unison

Great Grand Prix, even entertained a few of my mates who have no prior interest in it.

I only wish that the excitement wasn't caused so much by crashes and mistakes caused by new rules.
My feeling exactly... it was exciting... but an incredible mess as well including countless numbskull mistakes by drivers and teams. 👎

True. Talk about a pendulum affect! :D

From dead boring to insanely chaotic...

You just have to love Formula One racing!
