Man, we got creamed against Orlando. Still, it was never going to be an easy game in the first place. Worse for us, NOH beat the Pistons and are only .010 off of the Nuggets record now.

Up next for my Rockets is a match against the Nuggets Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, I think the Suns took care of the Raptors in Canada to the tune of a 117-113 victory. And can you believe it? I heard the Thunder has won two straight.

Your Suns are going to need all the help they can get in Boston. That's even if Boston's been sliding lately. If my Rockets could beat Boston in Boston, then I'm sure the Suns can do the same job as my Rockets. Good luck to your Suns.

Right, Houston is today, and NO has got Indiana. :(

Tomorrow, we've got Sacramento. Also looking forward to the Atlanta-Chicago matchup tomorrow.

Wow! The Rockets won a fist-fight of a game 115-113. Yao Ming played hard despite five fouls and a technical foul. This was a great game. The key was the Rockets regaining their stride late to sneak out with a victory.

Up next for us is Utah. Then after that, it's a three-game road trip at Indiana, at Detroit (gulp...), and at New York. The NBA action on TNT will come on sometime soon.

I said that Phoenix needed all the help they could get in Boston... and at about 10:30 left in the third, Boston leads 68-38. Damn! I know Phoenix knew what they signed up for...

[UPDATE]: It's over. 104-87. Suns NEVER led. Phoenix got their teeth knocked out in Boston. On a better note, at least this margin of victory wasn't as big as it was at halftime. This wasn't even close.

Let's not ever mention of that Boston Massacre again.

Well, you know the ESPN types may make further mention of this. Why do you think I have to keep hearing of the University of Houston losing the National Championship to North Carolina State in the Phi Slamma Jamma days?

Rockets will host the Utah Jazz tomorrow night. We'll need to keep the pressure going. Though it's January, the last thing we want to do is face them in the postseason (though the West is fairly stacked in the top eight). We'll need a good game in taking on the Jazz.

Told you Hawks-Bulls game would be close ;) And we won against Sacramento meaning...well, nothing's changed.

Nuggets haven't got another game till TUESDAY (god I hate the schedule sometimes :grumpy:) where we travel to the Memphis Grizzlies. This means that we will need a HUGE comeback if we stand any form of chance of getting the 3 seed (since NO stole it). We need to hope that the Hornets don't get a HUGE winning steak, or we're screwed :nervous:

I saw mostly the tail end of my Rockets beating Utah 108-99. If we end up playing them again in the playoffs (granted both of us get there), it could be a deciding factor as to whether or not we'll get home court in the playoffs.

Big win for New York as they knocked off Phoenix 114-109. Not a good trip out east, huh, TS?

Nice game against Boston and the Heat. And the Cavs-Blazers game was a good one too. Looking forward to Charlotte Bobcats-Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 27.

TS, your Suns' schedule includes what I would call back-to-back back-to-backs. You all come home to play San Antonio and (I believe) Chicago when the road trip ends.

My Rockets will hit the road for Indiana, Detroit, and New York. It all begins tomorrow night.

The TNT schedule for tonight: Boston at Orlando and Washington Wizards at the L.A. Lakers. Kevin Harlan's doing the Boston/Orlando match. For all I know, the Magic may well be on their way to a postseason berth in the Eastern Conference bracket. Just so long as they keep up the great work. Meanwhile, Tracy McGrady and Ron Artest had good practices. They could come back sooner than later. I believe T-Mac won't make the All-Star Game even if he's healthy by the All-Star game (which will be played in TS country- Phoenix). Good luck to all of your favorite teams.

T-Mac didn't make the All-Star starting line-up, but Yao will (at center).

All-Star game starting lineups:
Western Conference: Amaré Stoudemire (Forward; Suns), Kobe Bryant (Forward; Lakers), Yao Ming (Center; Rockets), Tim Duncan (Guard; Spurs) Chris Paul (Guard, Hornets)

Eastern Conference:
LeBron James (Forward; Cavaliers), Dwight Howard (Forward; Magic), Kevin Garnett (Center; Celtics), Dwayne Wade (Guard, Heat), Allen Iverson (Guard, Pistons)

Rockets lost 107-102 at Indiana. I don't think I've ever seen the Rockets lead at Indiana. Either Indiana's on the upswing, or we're just falling flat. Up next for my boys in red is a trip to Detroit. And unlike the Detroit Lions, we're going up against a powerful MoTown team. Rockets better bring it in Detroit, or they'll be heading to New York City (Rafer Alston's old stomping grounds) with a two-game losing streak.

[UPDATE] Charlotte gets their first victory over the Phoenix Suns with a 98-76 blowout. So first the Suns get lynched in Boston, now lose this game. Something still tells me that Phoenix may still make the playoffs, even if they get into the #8 spot in the west. But again, it's just a few weeks away from the All-Star Break. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves as to what will become of Phoenix.

The Bobcats revved it up last night against the Suns, it was NASCAR appreciation night in Charlotte.

Turnovers and sloppy ball handling are really killing the Suns this year. I think the Suns have the most turnovers of any team in the NBA and opposing teams are benefiting a lot from it, the Bobcats scored 25-ish points off of Suns turnovers. They can't play like this and expect to do anything in a very tough Western Conference.

An ABC doubleheader is on tap:
* Dallas at Boston
* San Antonio at Los Angeles (Lakers)

My Rockets will be in Detroit to take on those bad boy Pistons. They lost the series to Indiana with the loss Friday night. Last thing the Rockets need is to extend any kind of losing streak. They need to get her done tonight. Now the absolute worst would be my Rockets losing at Detroit, then losing at New York.

Enjoy today's and tonight's games!

Allow me to brag a little bit with the Texas Triangle.

* Dallas lost bad at Boston.
* San Antonio got roughed up in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
* Houston just beat Detroit 108-105!

So Houston wins while Dallas and San Antonio lost bad. This, even without Yao Ming playing. This even includes some of T-Mac's minutes as well as Ron Artest (remember him, Detroit?) knocking down some clutch free throws late.

Well, Boston and LA are playing great, but the Pistons are really struggling at the moment anyway..

The Heat, on the other hand, beat the Magic, the team with the best record in the league. ;):D

Plenty of reason for you to brag. Nothing like beating a team from the same state as your favorite. Only as long as you don't have a team from your same state, country, province or whatever.

Once we get to Valentine's Day weekend, we're going to have to see what teams really have a legit chance to make the playoffs. I'd really like to imagine if Orlando can make it to the playoffs and last as long as they can. Of course, the key word for 2009 is "change." You know, changing economy, change with President Obama in office... wouldn't it be interesting if Orlando won themselves an NBA title? Of course, that's if my Rockets will allow it to happen. :) Then again, my boys need change by getting out of the first round and hopefully return us to the days of Clutch City like when we won back-to-back NBA championships in the '90s. That would be change I'd LOVE to believe in!

Yes, BACK IN THIRD SEED. Nuggets routed the Jazz and Nene sunk all 12 of his shots from the field. That's a career-high tie for points scored by him. Tomorrow we have Memphis who have just had Mike Iavaroni sacked. That actually bodes well for us.

My Rockets are ahead 58-55 in New York against the Knicks. This ends our Eastern Conference swing as we'll be back home to host Philadelphia, Golden State, and some other Eastern Conference team that fails to cross my mind right now.

We're home to host Philadelphia, Golden State, and Chicago. Well... we lost in a New York Minute by losing at Madison Square Garden. If it's one thing I've learned from sports broadcasters and analysts, mentioning a winning or losing streak ends up meaning that a team in question will either win or lose. Like how there was talk about how my Rockets haven't lost to New York in four years. Well, they finally got us. We didn't have Yao Ming suit up. Still, there's almost no excuse to fall on your face late against a team you know you can beat. I'm sure the Rockets must have seen my Texans lead Indy by 17... all to blow it and lose.

Rockets don't need to play down to their opposition when the next three opponents come to town.

We're home for three more games. Up next for my Rockets is a game Philadelphia squad. Maybe the Eastern Conference is sick of being called easy and decided to stick it to the Western Conference.

Enjoy tonight's games!
