The Sixers have won the last three meetings against the Rockets. Now, we're hosting the 76ers. Hope the Rockets can play much better than what they did against New York.

Memphis has lost over 10-straight games. But tonight, they will meet the Oklahoma City Thunder. If Memphis has been in such a hole, this COULD get them out. We'll see how it all ends up.

Enjoy tonight's games!

Rockets blew another one against the Sixers. Sixers won 95-93. Rockets just couldn't seem to rattle in close baskets. I even remember getting an alley-oop pass... all to have it fall out of his hands like a touchdown pass to Terrell Owens. Just couldn't make any close shots and had gaps on defense. Rockets have GOT to improve this if they are ever to win any games, even if they make the playoffs.

As far as conference standings go, check out this link:

This is how the playoff picture would look if they were to happen tomorrow:

EAST:
1 - Cleveland
2 - Boston (1 back)
3 - Orlando (1.5 back)
4 - Atlanta (10 back)
5 - Detroit (10.5 back)
6 - Miami (10.5 back)
7 - Philadelphia (14 back)
8 - Milwaukee (16.0 back)
Last: Washington (27 back)

WEST:
1 - L.A. Lakers
2 - San Antonio (5 back)
3 - New Orleans (6 back)
4 - Denver (6 back)
5 - Portland (8 back)
6 - Houston (8 back)
7 - Phoenix (9.5 back)
8 - Dallas (10 back)
Last: Sacromento (26.5 back)

And that's it. Thursday night TNT action will begin with Cleveland at Orlando (should be a GREAT game), followed by San Antonio's visit to Phoenix (another good one).

:ouch: 81-94 loss against NOH. :grumpy: At least OKC are no longer at the bottom :D Up next, the Bobcats of Charlotte! (Easy win for us. :))

Celtics have won nine straight. And if I'm honest, they should be at the top of the Eastern Conference. Also the Sixers-Rockets game was awesome, specially the shot on the buzzer being blocked to give the Sixers the win.

BIG game for Phoenix taking on my home state's Spurs. If the road games were brutal, try winning one at home against an absolutely game Spurs squad! The shocker for me would be if Phoenix wins by at least five.

Didn't see the score, but last I seen, San Antonio escaped getting burned by the Suns. Another rough loss for Phoenix. The fun thing about this game was that the Suns got fouled within the first few seconds of the game... sank the basket, got fouled, then completed the three-point play at the line. That's easy mind games to start off. The "and one" bucket was cool.

I was checking the standings from my last post. Note how the Lakers are leaps and bounds ahead of the other top eight teams. Yet in the Eastern Conference, the first three are within at least a game of each other. I'd say the East is more competitive at the top than the West.

^ and they did! In fact, I heard it was a beatdown Boston put on Detroit. I know Cleveland's still undefeated at home. The thing I always wonder is... some teams can establish good winning records and good win streaks... but can they bring it to the playoffs? Some can, some can't. My 2007-2008 Rockets are an unfortunate addition to this statement as they won 22 in a row until losing to eventual champ, Boston.

My Rockets will be taking on Golden State at home Saturday night. Should be a busy Saturday here- the Houston Auto Show, Wrestlemania 25 tickets, and more. And let's not forget a major game in the NFL on Sunday (sarcasm).

Enjoy this weekend's games!

CARMELO ANTHONY IS BACK!! YES! He scored 19 points in our Bobcats game, which we won 99-110. Even better, GSW beat the Hornets, so we're in 3rd seed again. Also something to note, New Orleans, Portland and Houston have the same wins, but are two losses out from each other in the order I mentioned them in.

The Rockets halted their losing ways by showing up against Golden State. I came back from the Houston Auto Show and was real tired to see all of the game. So congratulations to the boys in red for winning against Golden State.

I know the Super Bowl's about to come on as of this post, but is the Eastern Conference improving against Western teams? I think Cleveland's next(?) home game will be against the L.A. Lakers. That home streak will be on the line in that match.

The next foe for the Rockets will be the Chicago Bulls. I respect Ben Gordon for the Bulls. The Rockets just have to keep on keeping on. No other way around it.

Next for the Nuggets will be the Sacramento Kings. Thank god the Hornets lost...and got Chris Paul injured in their last game, a 97-89 loss to Portland. That's the best thing we need: our rivals' star player out.

Houston gets Chicago tonight, then have these brief road trips before the All-Star Break. And speaking of the All-Star Break, I learned on ESPNEWS that a new H-O-R-S-E competition will be added to the All-Star Festivities. I've never played any pick-up basketball before, but it will be interesting to see how NBA 'ballers do H-O-R-S-E.

The Suns ended the disaster that was the month of January with a HUGE win against the Kings last night, 129-81.

Wednesday will be the start of a back-to-back series against Golden State.

Rockets led by 13 a few times, but we still pulled out a 107-100 victory over the Bulls. We'll head to Graceland tomorrow night to face Shane Battier's former team, the Memphis Grizzlies. We come home to play Minnesota on Saturday, hit the road again to meet Milwaukee next Monday, then we're home to face Western Conference bottomfeeders, the Sacromento Kings next Wednesday.

The Rockets are now 30-19 with our original lineup back on the floor and playing strong.

Nuggets won by 8, 96-104 over the Kings. We're heading to the Ford Center to face the team once known as the Seattle Supersonics, the Oklahoma City Thunder - the start of an incredibly long road trip.

Still lying in 3rd seed, 1 game behind San Antonio. And NO are now 5th seed, thanks to 3 losses in a row, so the Nuggets will now be watching out for Portland.

Tonight's matches:

Indiana at Philadelphia <<< I almost typed "Pittsburgh," but Pittsburgh doesn't have an NBA team!

And on TNT:
* Lakers at Celtics (both have nine losses)
* Mavericks at Jazz

Enjoy tonight's games!

Wow! Boston lost in Overtime to the Lakers 110-109. The Celtics didn't need a three, but the Lakers "D" stepped up and got it done late. Congratulations to the Lakers on this lovely win.

Nuggets won the the Thunder 114-113. That is a small margin.

Mind you, we kinda had a disappointing game, we were down by 11 by the third quarter and only just outscored them in the end.

My Rockets will host Minnesota tomorrow night here in H-Town. We'll head up to Milwaukee on Monday, then come back home next week Wednesday to host Sacromento. This, all before the All-Star Break. It will be interesting to see if the Rockets will make any trades because of all the injury problems. The ones to really keep a tab on is Tracy McGrady. I still think he's a player that can be the man who can lead us into the playoffs and past the playoffs. I still want him to get out of the first round with my team. Most of you know I usually fear when a good player does bad for my team... but does better for someone else. So even if this is his last few seasons, I want him to win and to dominate with my team.

Enjoy tonight's games!

124-103 over the Wizards, it's kinda good to be supporting a team who gets all the wins. :) Tomorrow it's a game against the Nets.

EDIT: Just realized we're 0.008 PCT down on the Spurs. :embarrassed:

I've demoed "NBA 2K9" for my PS2. The voices of Kevin Harlan and Clark Kellogg supplement the announcers. This is the first real NBA game I've ever played.

A thing I noticed about this game and the College Hoops 2K franchise is how close the lines are. A BIG difference? Kevin Harlan has more exciting commentary in the 2K games than Verne Lundquist in the College Hoops games. The detail of the arenas aren't bad. I can still somewhat make out the detail of Toyota Center. I've been to Toyota Center before, but never for any official games. So I have a good idea of what Toyota Center is like on the inside. A good thing about this game is that 2K Sports didn't just transplant voices from the College Hoops 2K game to this one. I can respect that unlike, say... EA Sports. The PA announcer guy in the NBA 2K game is different from the College Hoops PA guy. The 2K Sports theme was transplanted. Either way, there's very little to dislike about this game. Another thing I can appreciate- no over-abundance of upskirt shots from the cheerleaders like in the College Hoops 2K games. The music choice is lovely. Since there are no colleges, you have mostly licensed songs. I'm a fan of hip-hop and rap, so I was proud to hear an old favorite- "Passing Me By" by The Pharcyde. A minor detail I heard was the extra basketball sounds when you pass the ball or attempt a shot. You can actually hear the basketball when passing or attempting a shot. Nice cinematics going when you call a timeout. Some of the crowd sounds have some fans saying "no, no, no!!!" or "come on! Don't let him beat us!" when losing.

First game I set up was a demo: Dallas at Houston. And funny enough... it went into Overtime! There was some really smart play in this game, much like in the College Hoops 2K games. So if you haven't played a 2K Sports NBA game, go play one. Here are some of the test games I've come along with:

LEGEND: ! = won the demo match I set up; !! = won the demo match I set up (that went to Overtime)
* Dallas Mavericks at Houston Rockets!!
* New York Knicks at Golden State Warriors! <<< both with retro outfits!
* Los Angeles Lakers! at Phoenix Suns (a Suns game for my GTP friend, TS)
* East All-Stars vs. West All-Stars!
* Miami Heat! at Cleveland Cavaliers

I haven't actually played a real game as of this post. But man... looks very fun and nicely done. Again tonight... my Rockets will host the Minnesota Timberwolves. Hope my boys in red can take down the boys from Minneapolis.

Rockets won in a blowout last night; Raptors lost at Memphis last night as well.

Came... saw... conquered- Lakers took down Cleveland by 10. They are no longer perfect at home.

Not another game till tomorrow where we face the Heat. Too bad we got absolutely creamed by the Nets on Saturday... 70-114 loss!!!

My Rockets will be in Milwaukee tonight, hoping to keep up a straight face heading into the All-Star Break. We'll see how my boys in red will do against the Bucks.
