We got Milwaukee next here in H-Town on New Year's Eve. Rockets are going to miss home to start 2009. Good luck to your Suns, TS.

It was said that the Rockets played with no emotion. So what did they do? They signed Dikembe Mutumbo. Nice to see Deke giving my Rockets a healthy body as well as some good inside presence in the paint. Deke is 40+ years old, and more power to him if he wants to go for my Rockets. He's on all cylinders and ready to roar like a good 351 Windsor.

I think I've heard that Dominique William's great grandfather & Dikembe were best of friends.

I'm sure TS meant Wilkins. The human highlight film. :P

Edit:
So far, just two highlights in the Blazers - Boston game. 1) Every time Oden touches the ball on offense, something good has happened. 2) I just saw myself on a TV commercial. :P

Officiating is so horrible. And Blazers are sucking, too. I can't really blame the refs, as basketball can be a very difficult game to officiate. But Pierce is just jumping into the defenders as usual, and when he posts up, Blazers are getting called for handchecks. They haven't called anything on the other end. I got better things to do than watch my team suck, or get screwed by the refs. Call of Duty, here I come! :D

Yeah I did.

Shaq passed another legend in all-time scoring, Oscar Robertson after he scored 24 points in a 101-89 victory over the Grizzlies last night.

Leandro Barbosa started in place of Steve Nash (more back problems) and scored a season high 28 points.

The Blazers still won that game though didn't they?

The Pistons seem to be warming to Allen Iverson. I think they can get their fifth straight win, against the Nets.

Thank goodness the Nuggets are currently 4 seed, otherwise I would convert to the Bobcats instead. (Mind you, they're doing terribly.) How do they do this without Iverson?! Yeah they have Anthony and Smith and Billups and Atkins and Carter and Nene but I thought they couldn't do it without Iverson. They've got Toronto next :D then the Thunder (double :D).

Happy new year to all! We ended up taking down Milwaukee. But for the Bucks, their Ridnour is one great player for the Bucks. So my Rockets will play their first game of 2009 in Canada before returning to America for four more road games. Going to be tough for the Rockets, but all they can do is just suck it up and play to win.

Yeah, I guess I should watched the whole game, huh? :D It's just that I can not stand the way the games are officiated in the NBA. If it wasn't for the Blazers, the only team I have ever been a big fan of, I'd have quit NBA years ago.

I wish Blazers could have won with Brandon Roy, as we got our butts kicked by Boston, when we had our full crew last time around. But I am glad about the win.

I don't want to take any thing away from Iverson, but I've always liked Billups game better. And for Denver, and probably most NBA teams, Billups is a better fit. He can score, he can hit the big shots, play defense, etc. But it's his teamwork, his ability to work within a team that, in my book, makes him a better ball player than Iverson.

Now, if he can just stop jumping into the defender to earn a foul call, he'd be a player I can respect. Stop pulling that little punk(censored :P) move.

Nuggets beat Toronto...but highest scorer for them was Nene with TWENTY-ONE?! And he's the center as well!

Also...the Thunder have finally won another game!

At least they're doin' better that 3 teams in their conference and 6 teams in the Western Conference...

Denver are facing Oklahoma City today, who have come off the back of a win against the Warriors. Surprisingly Toronto also have Houston today and they have the same record as Denver. Talk about deja vu... :P

Yeah, but they were easily a Playoff team last year, and with the addition of Jermaine O'Neal(it was a big question mark), I was hoping that they'd be even better this year. :guilty:

We're taking on Toronto right now. The stat before the game is that the Rockets are 5-7 all time in games at the Air Canada Center/Centre. Not good if you're wearing the scarlet and white. Current score situation:

8:21 left in the third; Raptors leading 57-40. Rockets better get it together because it isn't going to get any easier on this five-game road trip. I hope leaving behind Toyota Center is a resolution for the Rockets...

Damn right it is... all the way to a 94-73 beatdown. Ouch! NOT the way to start 2009!

Denver beat Oklahoma City at OKC 122-120 on a game-winning three by Carmelo Anthony. Big win for the Nuggets to prevent losing to lowly Oklahoma City.

OKC had a healthy lead in the third. I knew it was a long shot, but..... damn. :D

I really had NO IDEA that the game was going to be that close. I'd say if we lost to OKC, Nuggets would have been the monkey of the current playoff teams (and that would be hugely embarrassing). Nice job Carmelo Anthony!

Also wondering who will be the fourth challenger for the Slam-Dunk Contest. And Houston lost to Toronto...and that is a MAJOR loss. Only 73 points?! All their doing is putting the pressure off of Denver. :)

And goodness me, the Pacers and Nets last-second victories too! Good golly! Today was a lucky day for most NBA teams. :)

From what I heard, our losing streak continued as a few Rockets didn't start. We still lost 103-100 at Atlanta. This new year looks to be easily forgettable for my Rockets so far even though only two games were played this new year. Remember that this road trip includes almighty Boston and lowly Oklahoma City. Rockets will have to step up and try to take the fight to every team not wearing Rockets' red.

What? So they didn't field all five players? Haha! Just kidding.

Denver won again, but it actually wasn't as easy as it looked. Chris Paul's late rally almost got me nervous, but I kinda knew that the game was in the bag. Think it was the first half that did us best to clinch the win.

I've read in the paper, that was my boy Jarrett Jack! His play has been just so-so this season, but I think the Nets game might've been just the second of his breakout games. You go Jack! 👍

SHOCK RESULT!

Knicks beat the Celtics 100-88??? Hard to believe, really.

Also nice winner from Antawn Jamison to clinch a victory against the Cavs. (Must say though the Cavs comeback was completely out of the script, yet they did it in style and they still lost!)

We've got Indiana next. Should be a breeze for us again :)

What do you guys take of Kevin Garnett's comments on him wanting Stephon Marbury joining the Celtics if he's traded or bought of his deal with the Knickerbockers?

My Rockets will return to action to possibly start a new winning streak if they can get past Philadelphia tomorrow night. If you're watching ESPN Wednesday night for NBA action, you'll hear the voice of Dick Vitale call an NBA game. Can you imagine all the "baby!" and "diaper dandies" and all that for the NBA? That game will be the Miami Heat at the Denver Nuggets. This is also the night my Rockets take on the Boston Celtics IN Boston. If we lose tomorrow night at the Sixers, how the hell are we going to pound Boston into the ground?

Good luck to all ten teams playing tonight.

Vitale calling an NBA game, huh? Should be very interesting. 👍

Not that I like either players, but what did KG say? :D

Told you our game would be a breeze. 135-115 = pretty much domination. Shame Anthony got a 'probable' fracture in his hand... :(

"I'm not opposed to Steph. I feel Steph still has a lot of basketball in him, I know his IQ is very, very high. He is one of the best point guards out there to play with. I wouldn't be opposed to that."

Rockets are now 0-3 to start 2009. They may well go 0-4 in Boston for their next match. I would be surprised if the Rockets either (a) win the game or (b) lose by less than ten points. I believe in the Rockets, but they are just a crap team right now.

Tonight's the night in which the NBA crew and ESPN college basketball crews switch places. I'm actually going to watch ESPN tonight to see how Dick Vitale covers NBA basketball. He brings a distinct energy to college basketball coverage, but will the NBA types show some love for Dickie V?
