That would be nice.... My school went to Mallala one year for a excursion!! Thats the closest I've gone to a racetrack with school

Once again it looks like the young Kelly boy has foot in mouth disease! :dopey: With the final session coming to a close this afternoon, There has obviously been an unfortunate, but all to common error in judgment by the young fella. But he really didn't have to take it to the next level by carrying on like a Idiot !

A road rage incident between Ford factory driver Mark Winterbottom and Holden driver Rick Kelly put some spice in one of today’s (Thursday) practice sessions ahead of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
In the final part of practice Winterbottom, fourth fastest, alleged that Kelly (12th) had taken umbrage to being blocked across the top of Mount Panorama by swerving in front of the Ford.

Winterbottom and teammate Steve Richards were conspicuously late for the post-practice press conference and admitted the delay was because his FPR team had a visit from an angry Kelly.
“No, no I had a visitor to our garage,” Winterbottom replied when quizzed about being late.

I beg your pardon? Winterbottom baulked him across the top of the Mountain, he showed is annoyance on track then went and had a chat to FPR team manager but didn't go over the top.
*Waits for losers to come insulting Rick*.

he showed is annoyance on track

I still think these sort of actions are immature and uncalled for 👎, and at the end of the day you would rarely see a TRUE! professional act in the same manner! ....:sly: Full stop!

Since when are they not allowed emotions? They're humans like you or I, making them behave otherwise makes you no better than paparatze or the media in general.

Paulie
Since when are they not allowed emotions?

Come on! surely he could have kept his head on-track and then have approached the Vodafone teams officials as a more than unhappy driver for the interference ,
OR......He could have made an immature swerve at or in front of another driver as he did, ....and then left it at that!

But No!... he did both!

No matter weather the opposing team was in the wrong or not theres a certain level of professionalism that has to be expected from these drivers no matter the conditions...? Like any other TRAINED sporting professionals!

As the second day of practice starts early, and with only two 30min sessions before Qualifing in the after noon, the teams will be keen to get there car setups sorted. Qualifing starts at 2.10pm est.:)

Glad to see that Channel 7 are actually covering alot of the event..... 3 hours today :)

Suprise to see Lowndes/Whincup fastest?

I was supprised to see J.Bargwanna/M.Noske in the Sprint Gas Racing car .... what happened to Jason Richards.
Good to see the Sprint Gas cars have some speed - come on Murphy!

7 Holdens in the top 10, awesome.:) Watch out for the Top 10 shootout though, Lowndes in his Team Cheatafone car had good pace when the qualifying session was red flagged.

Not a 100% on-topic, but as a swede I feel guilty to post a video of this. The golden years of Volvo racing.

Bathurst is awesomeness on the highest level. 👍

Where you ask? well a few hours after your post joe it became all to clear where he'd got to.

With Richards now being apart of one of the Bathurst veterans, Team BOC,
he has put himself in good position to be able go all the way to a chequered flag with Cameron McConville , given Team BOC's history at the Mountain

It looks like it's at Bathurst!:) so it's on topic as far as I can see..:sly: And myself being a ol' fan of Robbies work in the Volvo, this vid will be added to the the first post :)

I still don't know who I want to win! Holdsworth/Caruso, Skaife/Davison or Richards/McConville! I suppose those 3 on the podium would be nice, luckily they're the top 3 in qualifying so far so pretty stoked.:sly: Reasons:
Holdsworth/Caruso: Because they're the young fellas (would mean a lot to them to win Bathurst) and my favourite team
Skaife/Davison: For the championship, Holden glory and they're my 2nd favourite team
Richards/McConville: Because poor old Jason keeps missing out by a couple seconds when he could easily take the win.

I do hope 888 does poorly, we need to make some huge leaps in the points to catch up, and I don't want cheats winning again.:P

I'm not going to pick my teams I want to win, to be honest I'd just like any Holden to win. :) If I had to choose a team to win, i'd like to see Murph and Skaife do it. :) Looking good for Holden so far though, Holden seems to be fairly fast with 7 Holden's in the Top 10. :D Hopefully we can convert that to a win on race day!

I certainly wouldn't be disappointed if any other Holden won!:dopey: Although HRT need an excellent result for Davison to stay in the championship hunt.

Ford Performance Racing (FPR) driver Mark Winterbottom has been accused of blocking for the third day in a row at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 today (Saturday).
Greg Murphy Racing’s Sam Walter escaped injury from a high-speed incident at Griffins Bend during practice this morning after Winterbottom allegedly got in the way.
Kevin Murphy from Greg Murphy Racing aimed fire at the Ford factory team along with its senior driver for causing the incident, labeling it development series driving at best.
“I have personally been down there and spoken to their team and if I had the power I would have them excluded from the bloody event for that because it could have killed somebody and that was the most unnecessary, uncalled for incident,” he calmly stated.
“We are very upset here and there are other senior people up and down pitlane who saw that and have already said the car and that senior driver is acting so irresponsibly.
“Maybe we shouldn’t be talking about exclusion but in the heat of the moment it’s so upsetting when you’ve got guys who have behaved impeccably at the track keeping out of everybody’s road giving it a good shot and getting taken out that way, then it should be more than just a slap on the hand from officials in those cases.”
FPR refused to comment about the incident, pending a likely Steward’s inquiry but Team Principal Tim Edwards told the Seven Network that Winterbottom had been watching the car behind him in his mirrors the whole time and implied that fault for the incident was squarely on Walter’s own shoulders.
Winterbottom was given a reprimand yesterday after he admitted he was driving carelessly during qualifying by swerving on the track to warm his tyres when Toll Holden Racing Team’s Garth Tander was on a fast lap.
And on Thursday, Jack Daniel’s Racing driver Rick Kelly paid the FPR garage a visit after Frosty allegedly blocked his Commodore across the top of the mountain.

Edit; After just now watching what was a frighting incident :scared:, I'm sure Frosty will cop a reprimand and deservedly so!:grumpy:

And what law would that be? (Greg) Murphy's Law, that if it can go wrong, it will go wrong, and it will always be somebody else's fault?

Go Tander, woot!

Nope, the law clearly states that people from Russia, with love, are always wrong.:P

The vid of Bright's lap really shows how wild the ride is - fantastic.

Good one Craig:tup:

what's with the random attack from the russian....Murphy just tells you what he's feeling(probably gutted after missing his pit exit time!)

Explain how 888 are cheats? Last time I checked they didn't drive into their title rival in the last race of the season... unlike a certain team ;)

Race should be a cracker tomorrow, here's hoping it rains :D

He's actually "Australian". Murphy would only have picked up 2 spots, so luckily for him he didn't lose much with that DQ.

Come on, surely even you have noticed that every time Murphy is invovled in an accident, he instantly pushes blame? I remember that time he and Ambrose collised going into the Cutting after Ambrose slipped through his fingers. Murphy accused Ambrose of driving dangerously by closing the door too soon, but when you played it back frame-by-frame from an aerial shot, it looks suspiciously like Murphy's wheels were turning right when the corner went left in the moments before the accident.

He may have been right here; I haven't seen the footage because I don't get Channel Seven, but that doesn't change the fact that Murphy is The Boy Who Cried Wolf. It seems to be a common theme with Holden drivers; Cameron McConville and Rick Kelly are two others who never cause accidents because it's always the other driver's fault.

The sport doesn't need prima donnas like those three.

Yes interludes, how about in the future you just keep your conspiracy theories to yourself.

What kind of racing would we have if it wasn't for a bit of bumping and shoving?

Exactly, its been a part of touring/stock cars since like forever and its the unwritten rule that when someone takes you out or you take someone else out, its not your fault ;)
