V8 Supercars.comA road rage incident between Ford factory driver Mark Winterbottom and Holden driver Rick Kelly put some spice in one of today’s (Thursday) practice sessions ahead of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
In the final part of practice Winterbottom, fourth fastest, alleged that Kelly (12th) had taken umbrage to being blocked across the top of Mount Panorama by swerving in front of the Ford.
Winterbottom and teammate Steve Richards were conspicuously late for the post-practice press conference and admitted the delay was because his FPR team had a visit from an angry Kelly.
“No, no I had a visitor to our garage,” Winterbottom replied when quizzed about being late.
he showed is annoyance on track
PaulieSince when are they not allowed emotions?
PaulieThey're humans like you or I, making them behave otherwise makes you no better than paparatze or the media in general.
I was surprised to see J.Bargwanna/M.Noske in the Sprint Gas Racing car .... what happened to Jason Richards.
Good to see the Sprint Gas cars have some speed - come on Murphy!
strittanNot a 100% on-topic, but as a swede I feel guilty to post a video of this. The golden years of Volvo racing.
I'm not going to pick my teams I want to win, to be honest I'd just like any Holden to win. If I had to choose a team to win, i'd like to see Murph and Skaife do it. Looking good for Holden so far though, Holden seems to be fairly fast with 7 Holden's in the Top 10. Hopefully we can convert that to a win on race day!

Ford Performance Racing (FPR) driver Mark Winterbottom has been accused of blocking for the third day in a row at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 today (Saturday).
Greg Murphy Racings Sam Walter escaped injury from a high-speed incident at Griffins Bend during practice this morning after Winterbottom allegedly got in the way.
Kevin Murphy from Greg Murphy Racing aimed fire at the Ford factory team along with its senior driver for causing the incident, labeling it development series driving at best.
I have personally been down there and spoken to their team and if I had the power I would have them excluded from the bloody event for that because it could have killed somebody and that was the most unnecessary, uncalled for incident, he calmly stated.
We are very upset here and there are other senior people up and down pitlane who saw that and have already said the car and that senior driver is acting so irresponsibly.
Maybe we shouldnt be talking about exclusion but in the heat of the moment its so upsetting when youve got guys who have behaved impeccably at the track keeping out of everybodys road giving it a good shot and getting taken out that way, then it should be more than just a slap on the hand from officials in those cases.
FPR refused to comment about the incident, pending a likely Stewards inquiry but Team Principal Tim Edwards told the Seven Network that Winterbottom had been watching the car behind him in his mirrors the whole time and implied that fault for the incident was squarely on Walters own shoulders.
Winterbottom was given a reprimand yesterday after he admitted he was driving carelessly during qualifying by swerving on the track to warm his tyres when Toll Holden Racing Teams Garth Tander was on a fast lap.
And on Thursday, Jack Daniels Racing driver Rick Kelly paid the FPR garage a visit after Frosty allegedly blocked his Commodore across the top of the mountain.
And what law would that be? (Greg) Murphy's Law, that if it can go wrong, it will go wrong, and it will always be somebody else's fault? That's why my user title is Laying Down The Law right now Craig. I was right hah hah.

Explain how 888 are cheats? Last time I checked they didn't drive into their title rival in the last race of the season... unlike a certain teamI do hope 888 does poorly, we need to make some huge leaps in the points to catch up, and I don't want cheats winning again.
The vid of Bright's lap really shows how wild the ride is - fantastic.
Good one Craig:tup:
what's with the random attack from the russian....Murphy just tells you what he's feeling(probably gutted after missing his pit exit time!)
Come on, surely even you have noticed that every time Murphy is invovled in an accident, he instantly pushes blame? I remember that time he and Ambrose collised going into the Cutting after Ambrose slipped through his fingers. Murphy accused Ambrose of driving dangerously by closing the door too soon, but when you played it back frame-by-frame from an aerial shot, it looks suspiciously like Murphy's wheels were turning right when the corner went left in the moments before the accident.Nope, the law clearly states that people from Russia, with love, are always wrong.
I forgot that with you, Holden drivers can do no wrong.Yes interludes, how about in the future you just keep your conspiracy theories to yourself.
What kind of racing would we have if it wasn't for a bit of bumping and shoving?
