What's more important to you guys? Melbourne Cup or Bathurst 1000? For me it's Bathurst without hesitation but I wonder how others around here feel?

Easiest question of the year for me.:sly: For sure Bathurst, I look forward to Bathurst as soon as it ends.

I've already gone searching for Bathurst videos. I do the same thing every year. Just can't wait 'till thursday when we see some video and pics of the cars on track.:D

EDIT: With just days to go until Bathurst, I thought i'd post a 2008 highlights video here so we can recap and remember last year's Great Race.:)

So I can assume for you the year goes from October to October then?:D

As seen here with drivers; Dale Wood and young Jack Perkins

Is it any different for any Aussies? Yes is the answer to your question, we look forward to Bathurst more than Christmas morning! Although being a Christian Christmas morning inherently has more meaning to me, and therefore Christmas itself is mandatory as more important.;)

Nice, Here is some more special livery.

Go GRM! I haven't seen that video, I'll watch it.:)

PS- If Lowndes hadn't pushed Murphy on lap 1 at turn 2 last year Murphy and Richards would have won.

Yer with only 3218 corners to go they had it wrapped up at ......turn ...2 was it mate.

I love Holdens too mate but.... cmon.

Did you not see the pace they had through the rest of the race?:irked: They had to stage a massive come-back in that race to finish where they did after that first lap ram, and a few more laps they may well have won it too, given the pace they were closing in with.

There's no point in "would've's" and "should've's". Anything else could've happened to Murphy/Richards during the race if the turn 2 incident didn't happen.

Assuming no major issues, jeez. The point is they didn't win because of that punt, they could easily have won if it never happened.

None, it was on the news last week that they went and shot all the roos around the track due to the hazard they represent.

Oh well i didn't catch that..... thanks for letting me know, i won't be sitting in my chair clinching my fivers.

Thats right mate, It's actually been all over the local bathurst news for a few weeks now i think. With of course the greenies up in arms over it all, my god don't they know theres a motor race to be run here!:sly:

Exactly, not like there aren't plenty of roos around anyway!

Unfortunately, it looks like there will be a beer limit at this year's event... 👎

http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/blog/2009/oct/06/australian-fans-24-cans-beer :D

I once worked as a barman at Calder Park, and they also had a limit of 3 UDLs per customer per visit to the bar. They also could only be served already opened... this didn't go down too well :ill:

Bah, if you got drunk you wouldn't be able to follow what's happening in the race anway! Keep the alcoholics limited then!

On the channel 10 news they showed Murphy and Skaife, Jeeze those boys have been around for a while.... 9 titles between them, Skaife is up 5-4

Given the kind of luck and results Murph has had lately it'd be really nice to see them win as well, I feel sorry for Greg.:(

My question is, How will Cam drive? After his crash I'm wondering if he'll be more agressive, or if he will back off, he may still be scared.....

"IT'S ON" As the drivers take the track for there first practice session today (12.PM,est) we will now get see who has the pace straight of the box.

Tander- wed
“I guess it (the hype about TeamVodafone) is justified; they’ve won three in a row and no one has ever won four in a row, but we’re not overly concerned,” Tander said.
“The Toll Holden Racing Team is going to Bathurst to beat everyone, not just one car, so while the media is focused on Whincup and Lowndes, and a lot of other people are focused on beating just that one car, we’re focused on what we need to do.
“If we do our job well, it will be good enough to win the race.”

Found a couple more videos that can be added to the first post. ;)
A lap of Mount Panorama with Greg Murphy...

Couple of showers in the afternoon will make qualifying interesting.
And we all know that a forcast does not really mean anything when it comes to Bathurst.
The weather there is Beautifull one minute, Pouring down the next minute, then fine again. :sly:

Mad pics there mad :P , A School camp to Bathurst? Sweet.

Thanks, yeah, schools go there to a place called the Bathurst Goldfields which is located at the start of conrod straight. I wish my school went there.:(
