Who does he think he is, Bernie Ecclestone?Tony Cochrane is a moron though. He doesn't know a great deal when he sees it, thinking the sheikh's are going to support the V8's more than the mecca of motorsport, the USA. This just proves that we won't get to those heights of being a world-renowned series, just a regional series.Every year there are offers from Europe and America to take the V8's over, but Tony Cochrane has always said that Australasia and the Middle East are the only markets they're interested in running.
Better hold on to not only your hats, but your stomachs as well! I would also love to see and hear a an in-car camera shot of a lap or two of a V8 Supercar make it's assult on The Mountain.Yeah it really is quite the elevevation change, the commentator's don't say- 'and there beginning the climb up the mountain' for nothing. I think it really makes the trakc actually...there is nothing better in Motorsport Australia than watching the V8's roar down the Moutain!!...That ROOOOAAAARRR as they flow down the mountain is truly fantastic lol!A few people around the forums I visit seem interested in the height difference of the track, but believe the photos and camera work make it seem bigger than it really is. I had a couple of interesting comments after I posted the following.
The difference in height from the bottom to the top of the circuit is:
~ The height of Spinnaker Tower, UK
~ The height of the Skybridge at the Petronas Twin Towers, Malaysia
- Greater than the height of any building in Brazil or Chile
~ The height of World Trade Centre Mexico, Mexico
~ The height of Stade Olympique, Canada
- Greater than the height of the VAB at the Kennedy Space Centre
