Ahhh! Channel 7 and their adverts, they never end!

Hmm thanks, good for during the ad breaks, although that stream is delayed a little.

Anyone know what happened to Besnard/Courtney? They were up there with Lowndes/Whincup, and all of a sudden they've dropped way back (at last check).

SC out, T.Kelly went into the Chase sideways

edit: Courtney gave the SC a bit of a nudge as he went into pit lane

Seems Benard "thought" the rear sway bar had broke,so when Cpurtney got in they(crew) adjusted roll centre but .................Benard '"thought" wrong:dunce:

Yeah, baby; Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup take their third-straight Bathurst victory! The Mountain truly is judge, jury and executioner: it rewards the worthy at the same time as it punishes the undeserving.

Why did it punish Murphy/Richards and reward Lowndes/Whincup then? Murph and Jason had the fastest car in practice, and Lowndes (almost looked on purpose) ran into Murph on lap 1 causing damage. Imagine, if Lowndes wasn't so dirty, it would have almost certainly been Murph and Richards on the top spot.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Lowndes there. It was first lap, the field was bunched up at a high speed entry to a pretty hard braking zone. I was really happy with that finish. Murphy's driving at the end there was great, too bad there wasn't such a gap between him and Lowndes, it would've made a great finish and I would've loved to see the Sprintgas team on the top step. Richards did so good to hold on to that car for so long. Courtney drove awesomely as well, that first stint of his was amazing.

I felt so sorry for Seton and Baird. They did great to get their car right up the order. It was damn good for two part time V8 Supercar drivers. Bargwanna and Caruso drove fantasticly too, their finish was really unfortunate. And of course I feel bad for Tander and Skaife, it just wasn't their race this year.

It was a racing incident. I didn't catch the start of the race as I had some things about university to see, but I did see it in the highights reel, and what I saw was Lowndes having two wheels off the circuit and moving back on. It might have been an aggressive move and Murph was on the wrong end of it, but it was a racing incident. If Murphy and Richards had won, I would have said the same thing: that the most deserving driver had won. However, if it had not happened, it would have been no guarantee of Murphy's victory. If Lowndes had stayed with two wheels on the grass, it is likely that he would have run out of road and found Murphy the same way Luff found Baird. While I don't particularly cheer for one particular side anymore - I still have dislike for certan drivers; chief among them Tander, Skaife and Rick Kelly after that disgusting display of cheating at the Island two years ago - I'm afraid that it's a common theme among Holden fans to criticise Ford drivers when they win rather than appluad them, and for Ford fans to criticise Holden's winners, as if doing so would make the victory mean less. But we're in good company; it seems to be a cultural quirk that Australians will bring somebody dwn when they achieve something great rather than applaud them for their achievements.

Same, Seton always has bad luck on Bathurst. ::indiff:

Dunlop will feel the heat from teams and their own PR guys.

There's always booing, whether it's because a driver from the other camp won, or because a driver failed to capitalise on a situation, like Murphy did; if he'd gotten Richards a lap or two earlier, he'd have caught Lowndes. There's always booing, and it's disgusting, like when Lowndes won in 2006. I remember when Jim Richards blew up at the crowd for their behaviour one year ...

I doubt it. They identified the problem as being caused by drivers curb hopping, and partially from incorrect inflation. Only few cars had trouble in the second half of the race and these were all apparently caused by flat spotting the tyres.

:grumpy:Richard in his disgust called the crowd "All a pack of ***holes"when he was booed on the podium in 91.After winning in a controversial race..

Drivers curb hop every year and never have widespread de-lamintaion problems like this, these tyres are a new control dunlop. Did you hear how DJ was talking to the Dunlop guy, if he gets the excuse 'keep off the curbs' I am sure Dunlop will get flack.

What we Dunlop supposed to do? Magically pull out 1200 tyres that wouldn't de-laminate? Sure, they should have known, and could have taken means to prevent it had they known of the problem in advance, but by the time they worked out what was going on, the race was half over.

That's terrible.

I feel that as a person outside the car, you have no right to criticize a driver. Only those that are on track, fixing the cars, or paying the bills have any say.

I'll add that i truly enjoyed myself. I watched flag to flag even though i had to fight a bad stream for 1/3 the race. I will definetly catch it next year and i even got a few other friends to watch in America. We know about Holden and Ford but not as many knew about Bathurst. It has been a favorite track of mine sonce i first saw it in a video game 8 years ago. Anyways. Great Race and talk to yall later. It is 3:40 AM over here.

Yeah.... There was nothing they could have done during the race it was too late, I didn't say or imply otherwise. They tried their best during the race to figure out why and to supply teams with advice on how to reduce the problem.

It's been much much worse, in 1992 (when Jim Richards got pissed as others said) they had things thrown at them and nothing but boo's.

De-lamination as far as I know occurs when the tread or slick heats at a different rate to the carcass ,the two are adhered together, this is unlikely caused by 'kerb hoppin'" IMO. This leads me to believe that because the left rear was the culprit, irregular lateral movement or very intense dose of heat would be the cause.

I am not qualified in this area this is just my opinion.

was the crowd booing Greg Murphy on the podium?

Unfortunately, that's how it is in Australia. The fans are very passionate when it comes to the Holden v. Ford battle.

By the way, you seem familiar, Paulie.

"THIS" is why this race is talked about all around the world ,it's tracks like this that you never forget once you have seen the 'V8 Supercars" race here :sly:

Dang, this race totally clashed with the race at Fuji, totally missed this race altogether. :dunce: So I really can't comment on the race as much. I'll try to watch the race somewhere (I hope)

I watched both. F1 on the TV and bathurst onthe laptop. They both finished like 2 mins apart.

I'm pretty sure you are all referring to the Nissan victory. I must admit, i always like when someone out of no where comes in and shows everybody how it is done. But i think the modern Ford vs Holden business is fine as is. I saw that Tom Walkinshaw feels the same way. And he also commented on this fwd Falcon nonsense. Someone is Australia please go kick a ford exec for me.

As Boris Said was quoted, "If they had this track in America it'd be illegal!" I feel really bad for Seton/Baird - a couple of part-timers getting punted off when running so well, but with their speed I'm sure they'll be back next year in one car or another.

Well, I wasn't even talking about Nissan or how they dominated or even that I want a more open race series. I was only talking about how the crowds can get.
