Clio - this CAN work, best bet so far but need to turn on TCS for a 5 pit schedule or find easier lineup

Wheres the problem in putting the TCS on a little bit? Dont tell me you consider it a crime to use that! (ASM is a crime though) I'd love to know how you drive a Speed 12...

Come on, if you could do World and Euro Classics you can do this!

66.

World classics and Euro classics are only 1 lap round Nurburgring which means no pit stops once you get ahead you can just keep blocking.
1000 miles is 25 laps round Nurburgring block for as long as possible but when you have to pit at least 1 car always gets past then it is impossible to catch it again. The opositions cars pit between lap 6 and 8 so if you pit on lap 6 the cars on 8 lap pit stops have 2 laps in which they gain nearly 1 minute and if you pit on lap 8 the same goes for the cars on 6 lap pit stops.

Fair point, but you can get away in the Karmann - I only had trouble with the Alfa, and pitted every 7 laps. The Tyres held together ok.
Have you tried the '62('63?) Skyline? It's expensive but it's a bit better than the Karmann. I'm not sure what other advice I can give - I know it can be done!

Seems like you need to sharpen your laptimes then. Then again 1 minute :nervous: !?!?!?! That's might be a little to much to get off! But who knows, after all it is the ring!

My first experience there was something between playing on the beach and lawn mawing. I asked around and kept getting the same answer: practice - practice - practice... :ouch: :ouch:

OK, I'm prety new at getting 200 pts per race, which is my current pts/race ratio :sly: And I didn't get 200 pts on the ring yet, but I'm prety sure I will because by now I know the ring prety good because I do all my testing on the ring.

At the moment I'm saving up a bit of cash, but I think I'll start the 1000 Miles somewhere this weekend. And after reading this thread and testing the Karma on my other save I think 66 is right about that one being the best option for the race, and I can't believe anybody can block faster opponents for 25 long lasting laps so there should be fast enough laps somewhere in that Karma. I'll definitily try it and let you know if it worked.

btw What's your average laptime on the ring right now?

What I remember of my first 1000 miles (I drove that one with the alfa) is that the Alfa 1600 GTA tops at a little over 200 km/h so you'll have to make sure your Karmann can too, or you'll loose to much time on the long straight.

Gear the Karmann to do 180 and you'll be fine, the Alfa's faster on the home straight, but the AI sucks at the First really fast bit....dunno what it's called - the 7 or 8 corners before the Carussell. You can take 4 or 5 seconds out of them through that bit alone.

Think thats Kallenhard - Kesselchen, with Steilstrecke just before the Carussel (there are many different spellings). I've noticed that too - they do seem to go slow through there. If you are good enough, the corners after Carussel (through Wipperman and up to Schwalbenschwanz) can gain you time also.

Thanks for the names, but yeah the Ai sucks all the way through that section, up to the Downhill S's (You know what that bit's called? Downhill S into an Uphill Right.)

Downhill S's into Uphill Right? That could be several points on the circuit

Hohe Acht - Wipparman!
google is a godsend sometimes.

66 Congrats on this very very cool thread. There's only one question left for me: since this thread is so incredibly long I can't remember where your last summary is located. Could you post a link to it.

I don't think I can ever get close to your stats but I'm having a lot more fun than just tring to reach 100% playing the way I do now.

Is it not in the first post? :)
Reminds me....I should probably edit that a bit.

No worries. Anyway, I've just updated it with everything I can remember. Hope it helps.

66.

Thanks man, I'm going home now to have some more 200 pts fun and add a few series to my record :) :sly:

As for the 1000 mile races. I got 200 points at Paris and Monaco with the VW. I am dreading Le Mans and for now there is nothing I can do with Nurburgring. It looks to me like you need to tow a trailer with a big jug of NITRO on it. :nervous:

I am going to try that Skyline that 66 said is better than the VW and a different line up. 👍

I forgot to thank Moloch for getting me over the 100000 point hill ( I had to use a sport flywheel for that, lol :) OK not funny!). I used his summary a ton. Thanks Moloch! :) 👍

No real issue. I played 1/2 the game with AIDs set to default so I'm hardly a person to be concerned.

It's just that I asked...
Do you think setting TCS to 3 on the Clio will help conserve the tires enough for a 5 lap pitting schedule
Or should I try another car.

And the responses were different cars so... I just kept testing :sly:

Ummm... I don't! :D

Well, I am probably about 25% done specing out the new and used cars. The list I put at the bottom of this post will be a number I assigned to each car for A-Spec points. They are relative values with no set zero point, and I may set a zero point later. If you get one particular value on a race, you can use my numbers to determine what a different car will yield. If you get for example 180 points with one car, select a car with 20 points less for 200.

Don’t rely 100% on this chart. First of all, at best the values are +/- 1 point. Second, they are all with the cars as received. And power, weight, downforce, and tire changes will change the numbers. However, these numbers will get you close.

Also note that the only ones I consider accurate are the ones that range from about 400 to 950 and 1370 to max. I still could have made a mistake I haven’t yet caught. Anything below 400 points and between approx 950 to 1300 I had to test with less reliable means. This means the points can be off by more than 1 with cascading +/- 1 errors, and also increases my chance of making an error.

Another thing to note is the cans not listed as used can be bought, prize, or 6.2 mile (10km) cars from the used lot. Some are even tested from arcade and may not exist in the new state for driving A-Spec. The used cars are bought from one of the 3 used dealers, but you can run the oil down to about the 90% new value like they are. Although I have not tested it, a used car with oil change should be nearly equal, if not equal to the new values.

Also not that where a prize car and new car for purchase exists, I already found one car with difference. The 2005 Ford GT. I mean to test the Speed 12, and others that can be aquired more than one way. I hope this only applies to the Ford GT.

Anyone who thinks I made a mistake on a car, please let me know. Also, if there is a small list of cars anyone wants tested, I will do them before continuing alphabetically. Just let me know.

Here is my list, order is points then car:

Another thing to note is the cans not listed as used can be bought, prize, or 6.2 mile (10km) cars from the used lot. Some are even tested from arcade and may not exist in the new state for driving A-Spec. The used cars are bought from one of the 3 used dealers, but you can run the oil down to about the 90% new value like they are. Although I have not tested it, a used car with oil change should be nearly equal, if not equal to the new values.

Dude, that's AWESOME! 👍

Thanks for taking the time to do this and present it to everybody.

If I have some time this weekend, i'll go through my notes, make a couple of accuracy checks and see if I can help you fill in some holes there. I'm sure I have a couple hundred cars tested for points but it's all on paper :indiff:

I'll be sure to provide the details of how they were derived so they can properly checked.

I do have a question just for clarification. Are all your "Used" entries taken straight from the lot, no oil change, in to being tested?

Hey Wild Cobra Z-28! This is fantastic work you have done! 👍

You should get paid for this. It's people like you that make getting 200 points easy. There are so many guys who go to great pains to provide us with info on this forum, It is great.

Thanks Man!

I think your info will help me with 1000 miles.

Here is my list...
Huge effort  I now understand what you have been on about. I personally think this deserves a thread of its own. If the list is the first post it can be easily located and updated.

Anyway, congratulations.

French Grand Prix
For those of you that are not huge fans of the Alpine 310 (Route_66's suggestion - and on N1s!!!) try the Renault Megane 2.0 16V on S1s with c.100kg ballast. Cars to avoid are:
Clio Sport V6: (I didn't realise there were 2, I think the Phase 2 is the problem and it will eat you for breakfast at Sarthe - my final lineup had no Clios);
any Citroen: they are all rubbish
Renault Avantime: it would also appear to be rubbish

A good lineup is
Hommel Berlinette R/S Coupé (the main opposition)
Peugeot 106 Rallye (can also cause a few problems)
Peugeot 206 S16
Peugeot 206 RC
Renault Megane 2.0 16V (to make up the numbers)

You're welcome. I think the 200 point thing is a great challenge. I doub't I'm good enough to make to 100k club, but I was doing this once I discovered A-Spec points, so I figured why not share the wealth. Maybe it will help others.

If you want, but I myself am particular about some things and I will just repeat the work anyway. If you want to index the values off mine and post for others, that would be great.

Yes, all cars, including the used, are tested as-is... no changes at all... The ones I marked used are not from driving, but bought used. Unless I'm wrong, all used cars are about 90% the new car values in HP, including the coveted Black Race Cars.

I wonder how the Black Polyphony Formulat Gran Turismo rated in the Formula Gran Turismo race? 60 points? More? Less?

I don't have 100% game yet, that would be a good one to know..

Reminds me, I still need to win the Nissan R89C Race Car to test also....

Slotcarrod, Moloch_horridus, you’re welcome and I hope it does help. Please note that this is only 293 cars from over 950, maybe over 1000 new and used car values combined. I still have a long way to go.

Oh… I forgot the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Larame, which is the bug car at only a 235 value….. probably forgot others that I have tested already, and I left out a few that I suspect I made a mistake on.

After I complete 400-950 and 1370+ range cars, I will go and double check the low power and 950 to 1370 cars. I am not testing them anymore at the moment, because until I have the cars completed above and below them, I have to chain too many car values to derive a proper place. I will likely change the entire point system value I’m using. I will try to pinpoint a virtual zero for calculation purposes. I already suspect all the car values will increase by about 400-500 points to get a virtual zero. My actual last good 900+ car is the VW W12 Nardo Concept and lowest 1300+ car is the Suzki Escudo. The range between these cars may slightly change also when I get to improving the accuracy, but when we deal with less than a 200 point range, this in not too important….

Again, any specific car requests?

Fair point, but you can get away in the Karmann - I only had trouble with the Alfa, and pitted every 7 laps. The Tyres held together ok.
Have you tried the '62('63?) Skyline? It's expensive but it's a bit better than the Karmann. I'm not sure what other advice I can give - I know it can be done!

66.

Is the '67 Skyline 2000 GT-B an option, it's the one you win in the beginner FR Challenge. It's a 🤬 of a lot cheaper.

What set up did you you use at Monaco? i have now finished Paris and Le Mans just Nurburgring :ouch: and Monaco left.

Japanese Championship [200 A-spec] ASL Garaiya
All-Japan GT C'ship [200 A-spec] Suzuki GSX R/4
Japanese 80's Festival [200? A-spec] MX5: <Max hp; [Unconfirmed]

Roadster Cup [200? A-spec] MX5: <Max hp; [Unconfirmed]

I don't know if others confirmed these allready. If not I can:
The Roadster Cup (Japan - Mazda): I've done it in a '95 MX5, NA1, FC SP, N3 of S with ballast) and NOS (you'll need it to get the lead, after that block)

With basicaly the same setup (play a little with the ballast) I did the Japanese 90's Festival for 200 pts.

What set up did you you use at Monaco? i have now finished Paris and Le Mans just Nurburgring :ouch: and Monaco left.

I used NA2, race exaust, chip, 115 (I think) balast at the rear. N1 front N3 rear, switching to N3 on the front after first pit. Gear box, flywheel no LSD. Up 3 on font and rear springs, down to 6 on dampening, dump the ride hight, no change on toe or camber. Set your ratio close so you get top speed 7/8 of the longest straight.

I used this same set up in Paris, just changed the ratio.

What set up did you use for Le Mans?

On Le Mans i used a used Honda S600 with no oil change stage 3 tune race exhaust race chip N1/N2 tyres 58 ballast with gear ratio set to 5.
I think this looks like the car to win all 4 races.
