Major drama in Gt2...

Falken Porsche looses 2 rear wheels within a few laps of each other. Bergmeister gets damage from loose wheel and in pits awaiting permission to repair damage (lost 3 laps waiting for pits to open under full course yellow). Risi cars come together, Bruni goes off track.

Good race!

Wow, looked like an amateur race. Lots of crashes and penalties. Too bad Audi wasn't in it because Lola AMR was nowhere near the pace of the HDI's.

I wouldn't say the crashes where to bad. Only had 5 full course cautions and 1 was due to a car catching on fire not a crash. The penalty's though where extremely high. I know the drivers and teams where thinking there would probably be a lot more big crashes due to having 5 different classes with such a big speed differential between them but they really did well imo. Now the teams just need to get back into the swing of things and get rid of all of those pit stop infractions they had.

I was really rooting for the RSR Jaguar in GT2 but a few problems took their stabs at it which put Jaguar in the "driver failed to achieve minimum laps at night" group. I hope it runs better at Long Beach in April.

I was rooting for the Corvettes, me being American and all that. But that crash in the pits (not to mention penalties up the 🤬 did them in. :(

Glad Pug won P1, though. I'd rather see Peugeot win on the 908's final season than have Audi win again.

Something that I must note, the Risi win in GT2 by a lap, shouldn't have been so. Once again, the Safety Car rules messed up the racing and gave the Risi Ferrari almost a lap advantage when both BMW's were easily going to be in a good battle with it. It really made the race a bit of a bore near the end. Still, surpirsed at the pace that Pirro can do in the Drayson Lola, the Speed TV crew said he was faster then the AMR lola! The next round will be interesting as Peugeot are gone, Intersport and Creation (presumably, although a Miller debut seems more logical,) will return. The ALMS will be in full swing.

Here is the spotter's guide to this week's race at LRP.
They are calling for rain early today and a heat index above 100 F for Saturday.

A couple photos from the race last year.

Does anyone knows where I can watch the race online? I already watched the Laguna Seca and it was awesome!

Supporting BMW Rahal Letterman Racing here...

Thanks in advance!

I would check Justin.TV someone there might be streaming the race. Otherwise I don't know. But the rain will make this race quite interesting. Passing at lime rock is hard enough in the dry with the only really good spot going into one. With the rain it should be fun to watch.

Evening, am I the only one having a very bad RLM feed? Sounds like Hindy and co are on the phone...?

Anyway, I'm tentatively placing my name for the Corvettes, but it's been a bad year for them, which hasn't really been getting better...We can hope!

EDIT: Carnage off the restart...Risi car off (Melo)...Jaguar and I think the #40 GT together, one of the leaders hitting problems, Hindy is going bonkers.

#40 GT got into the Porsche who got into the Jag. the Porsche spun around and slammed into the back of the GT. Everyone locking up caused one of the Corvettes to touch the Risi Ferrari, sending him into the wall. Looks like the Porsche and Jag are fine, but I think the GT and Ferrari are out.

EDIT: The Ferrari's accident had nothing to do with the accident with the GT, Jag and Porsche. Looked like the Ferrari just edged into the Corvette.

I heard the number 3 mentioned, and a penalty...if they get penalised, that'll just be the latest in a catastrophe of a season so far for Corvette. The pit cock-up at Sebring, the Peugeot incident at Le Mans...it's not their season so far.

EDIT: American Muscle versus European Style...I'll take the Muscle thanks :)

Actually, it's probably for the best, 'cause usually, if you block like that, you wind up in the wall.

No no, I'm not disputing the penalty, it's just...nothing's going right for the Corvettes right now. Everything going wrong. But no complaints on the penalty.

InvincibleM5, any link?

:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

EDIT: Now the #3 is in an incident with one of the GTC cars I think...this just gets better and better (note sarcasm)

At least all their accidents are stuff are from racing with other teams. I remember a couple times when they had a GT1 team that the Corvettes took each other out. (not a good way to get on your team owner's good side, btw.)

Hah! This is true. I suppose that's a small mercy. Apparantly Beretta is annoyed at the blocking penalty...SuperShouden, I assume you're watching it live right? What was your take on it?

InvincibleM5, thanks for the link. My internet sucks, so I'm switching back to RLM, but I might dip into the live feed every now and again.

No problem mate ;) My internet sucks too but I am watching it on the lowest quality possible so it's a bit smoother... I might ended up following the race through RLM.
