He just tried to overtake Hamilton. Unfortunately he lost the control of his car and hit Lewis, it was bad luck. No need to hate on him for this, he still drove an incredible race.
Sad for Hamilton, though.

I always get penalties for spinning in front of someone in wet in F1 2012.
Now i know the game penalty system is realistic.

I don't understand F1 at all. How can you get a penalty for losing control of your car (Lewis vs Nico incident). Vettel was not penalized for cutting off Senna but any other driver would get penalized. I'm a Vettel fan but that is not the way to win a championship, even though the race stewards gave him the championship. Congrats to Vettel though.

Sad to see Varsha not going to NBC. I remeber hearing Varsha the first time I watched F1. Hopefully NBC gives great coverage of F1.

Raikkonen finished a lap down, meaning he finished every race but just missed out on completing every single lap of the season - 1194 out of 1195.

I'm also with Famine. I have just watched the Vettel, Senna incident from both cars. I find it hard to believe that a driver of Vettel's quality didn't know that there would be a driver there.

Senna was on the racing line, Vettel isn't, it's lap 1. Where else is a car going to be if not right next to him?

All this season people have been harping on Groesjean for doing almost exactly what Vettel has just done. Let me ask you, if Groesjean had done what Vettel did, what would happen then? I'll tell you what, a drive through.

Then Red Bull issue team orders to another team? Maybe not directly, but c'mon!

I can't help but see how people can't see that Vettel has had this race handed to him.

Yep, i agree.. although i congratulate Vettel on his WDC win, that 1st lap was more than a bit iffy, and (imo) it definitely deserved a penalty... but hey, what i think isn't going to change anything. The stewards should have acted on it right after it happened.

To anyone who was watching the BBC's coverage - did anyone hear either Coulthard or Edwards thumping their desk during the race?

A fantastic, well balanced counter-argument right there if I ever saw one 👍

I'll take 100 persons who genuinely hold any outrageous beliefs before one troll who's just trolling for fun. Everyone's entitled to an opinion and I am very glad that they're different.

Though clearly from his posts you can tell that he is both of those, if he were simply just misinformed then it would be different.

The fact that Hulkenberg got penalized for a racing incident and Vettel got a free pass tell you everything you need to know about the stewards. Vettel got this race given to him and the FIA should be ashamed by manipulating yet another championship. Vettel will never get my respect. I was going to say he earned it this year but not even close. The stewards knew full well what they were doing and played favorites. It's crap like this thaty makes me care less about F1. It's like the Ferrari years all over again.

Everyone knows that FIA's favorites are the Ferrari and the reason Hulk got the penalty is quiet possibly because he was ahead of Alonso.
The reason Vettel hasnt gotten a penalty yet is because he started the overtake under a green.

DOTR: Massa, Alonso, Kobay, Vettel, Button, Schumi, Petrov.
LOTR: Hulk(he did get higher but in the end...), di Resta, Grosjean.

Sum: The best ending-title-decider race ever. Races + accident + drama + weather = Absolutely love it.

He took someone else out of a race, because he went beyond the limits of his car and his own capabilities....

It's called wet weather...lines that would be fine at one point will become completely different when they have been sprinkled with a light level of the heavens.

The overtake isn't the issue. It's the lap 1 incident he caused.

So, Vettel winning 5 races, Alonso only 3, he also came back from some underperformed results, and scored more points over the course of the year than Alonso in the best car. No, Vettel doesn't deserve this years title. You're right.

Nah, Hulkenberg doesn't deserve the LOTR title. He did a very good race, despite the Hamilton incident.

Isn't that what racing car drivers are supposed to do?

No, because by definition if you are going beyond the limits of the car, then you are in the process of crashing/ spinning.

Not to say that Hulk deserved that penalty though, it was an easy made mistake in those conditions and it simply bad luck that Hamilton happened to be on the outside of him at the precise moment it happened.

Except we are talking about his 1st lap incident where he took two drivers out of the race.

Also I would just like to say, that I do think that Vettel has earned this years WDC in all races except the interlagos race.

If that means he gets stripped of it, then fine.

Also if he had been issued a drive through, then chances are he might have made the time up. Then he would have earned it.

Yep, i reckon if he got the drive through, it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

In the grand scheme of being a race car driver, Yeah it kinda is. In those conditions though and in that proximity, I'd say debatable. I kinda think though that he really had plenty of time to try and get the lead from Lewis
and clearly had the car to do it.

Even if its in the fashion we're seeing? Don't get me wrong, indeed not everyone will agree and I have no problem with that, the issue here is the way he's going about. I just think there's a way to support your favorite driver without resorting to such behavior.
