Looks like Norwich are relegated too, unless Sunderland lose next match. Let's say they lose 1-0, Norwich will have to win 17-0 against Arsenal to stay up
It's actually not as bad as you say.

West Brom are the team in the firing line. If they lose 1-0, Norwich only need to win 16-0 against Arsenal to stay up.

Of course, 9-0 games have been recorded in the Premier League and a pair of those - WBA losing 9-0 while Norwich win 9-0 - or even a 9-0 and an 8-0 will do it.

Not since the days of Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest and Manchester United vs Ipswich have we seen such games.

Shame.

I'm surprised they haven't started per fee contracts for managers. Nobody sees out their contracts anymore.

I'm more surprised at how easy it is to sack managers for poor performance yet it is difficult, if at all possible, to sack players for poor performances.

So exactly 1 year ago today, Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement. And yet again, we're wondering who will be in charge next season.

So these proposals by the FA commission then, they want a new league for Premier league 'B' teams in between League Two and the conference, its to be called 'League Three', there will be promotion and relegation but they cant be promoted no higher than the Championship and wont be involved in both domestic cups, the 'B' teams will be much like the U21 league they have now with only three players over 21 in the match squad and limit on non home grown players in the 25 man squad etc, the other proposals are a gradual in crease in the number of home grown players in the Premier league and Championship which would involve a phased reduction in the number of non home grown players in match days squads from 17 to 12 starting from 16/17 season

There hasn't been a good reaction to the proposals particularly the League but they are only proposals and might not happen, thoughts?

So it was the Manchester United awards night tonight for anyone that has MUTV. It was a great few hours with some very good awards and comedy .

Jimmy Murphy young player of the year: James Wilson
Denzil Haroun reserve player of the year: Saido Janko
Goal of the season: Wayne Rooney v West Ham
Players player of the season: David de Gea
Sir Matt Busby fans player of the season: David de Gea

And also, a special award presented by Sir Bobby Charlton was the lifetime achievement award which went to Ryan Giggs. There were video messages from many ex-United players and some legends of the game from outside of United including: Sir Alex, Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Pele and Steve Bruce congratulating him on winning it as well.

Rubbish. Another pat on the back for the FA bigwigs and it would only further perpetuate the notion that football doesn't exist outside of the Premier League.

They said that the Premier League would help nurture young talent when they broke away, but that didn't happen, did it?

England has the best football league system in the world. Its second, third and fourth divisions are the most valuable, most profitable, most watched and best supported second, third and fourth divisions in the world as it is. Decimating it with reserve teams would be awful.

Stick to grassroots programmes and develop the quality of the actual young players coming up. It's unfairly not their fault that their parent clubs would rather play foreign players who are better.

So what are our predicitons for this weekend?

I'm seeing City and Liverpool winning their games, not really bothered about the rest if I'm honest. :P

So this is the last time I will be posting the weekends games this season, all the games Kickoff at 3pm on Sunday

Cardiff v Chelsea
Fulham v Crystal Palace
Hull v Everton
Liverpool v Newcastle (Sky Sports 2)
Man City v West Ham (Sky Sports 1)
Norwich v Arsenal
Southampton v Man United
Sunderland v Swansea
Tottenham v Aston Villa (Sky Sports 3)
West Brom v Stoke

Sky showing three games at the same time, no game on BT that I know of, Why are they showing Spurs v Villa when both teams don't really have anything to play for??

Yeah, it's going to be great watching them crumble one last time before de Boer takes over.

Perhaps BT have already used up the x number of games they're allowed per season.

Anyway, turns out that Carroll has his most PL goals against City than any other team (5), I reckon he will score....in a 3-1 defeat! :D

Well if Tottenham lose and Man Utd win we get Europa league. Only other substantial place to be decided yet.

:odd: Don't remember that.
I just double facepalmed when I re-read that just now. I forgot to proof read it. I was just going through the list of names in my head that sent a VM. :P

United can't get Europa no matter what happens. They are 6 points behind Everton who are in 5th, Spurs will need Everton to lose and will need to win 19-0 to get it. It's Evertons in the bag.

The Europa spot is extended down to sixth this year I thought because City won the league cup and they're already in the Champions League? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sunderland should get Europa League for making capital one cup final. I'm sure the spurs fans wouldn't mind.👍

Everywhere seems to be saying different things. One site reports Tottenham could secure Europa league with a point, others say they missed out because of a loss to west ham.

I know about the Europa League situation, as we know three places are available to English/British teams, two from both cup winners and one from 5th place in the League, in the FA Cup if the winner has already qualified for the Champions League then the Europa League spot goes to the runner up and in this case its Hull who qualify regardless if they win the Cup or not, in the other competition its different, if the winner hasn't already qualified for the CL then they get a EL place but if they have (in this case Man City) then 6th place in the league becomes available for EL place...I think that covers it!

So a Europa League place is still up for grabs then?

I at least want Tottenham to lose today so it's in Man Utd's hands then. Rather than us not being able to do anything.
