I wouldn't read too much into these results - I expect that Man Utd will face stiffer competition in the EPL next season anyway, but they were still the best team last season by some distance, despite not always performing at their peak. It will take time for Moyes to impose his style of play and to shape his own squad - Sir Alex was keen to stress this when he stepped down, and fully expects the board and the fans to back Moyes even if his first season (or even first few seasons) are not as glorious as those that the typical Man Utd fan has come to expect... Sir Alex was afforded alot of leeway and look what happened... sadly, nowadays, great managers are not always given the time they need to show what they can do. Indeed, clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid and Man Utd are happy to throw away great managers even when they succeed and bring success very quickly... such is the fickle nature of supporters and the unrealistic demands of the guys with the money.
