I hope Arsenal or anyone else renews their interest in Rooney. The concept of having Rooney and Torres up front next seasom is about as scary as it gets.

Are you a chelsea fan? I'd be pretty scared if my strike force was Torres and Rooney too. :sly:

Yes. If I could choose any 2 players from world football not to be in the Chelsea team, it'd be those two.:grumpy:

Mourinho will be after Busquets soon at this rate...

Suarez has missed Liverpool's game v Valerenga with a foot injury..

QPR are getting rid of some of their big earners on season long loans with Remy gone to Newcastle, Taraabt to Fulham and Park to PSV for the season..

...did anyone see the steward getting trampled on by a horse at the league cup gam last night?, at least he is ok..

Yep, one knocked him over and the other then trampled on him, not very clever by the police, you think they'd have handled things like a pitch invasion many times before. At least he's ok. No doubt someone will be trying to get him to sue the police and Preston now though.

Man Utd draw their last pre season game 1-1 v AIK, Angelo Henriquez got the equaliser for United

So Suarez has been saying that Liverpool should let him leave because last season they said they will if they don't qualify for the Champions League, I highly doubt they said that!

Also, Barcelona have made a bid for David Luiz, which Chelsea will probably turn down..

The second leg of the Europa League quali 3rd round between Malmo and Swansea is on in an about an hour and we are looking to finish the job after we hammered them last week, Laudrup has unsurprisingly made changes but Williams, Michu and Bony do start...

Michu is in my dream team, hoping he has a good season!

He is in mine as well, couldn't believe how cheap he was, only 4.5 mill!

Anyway, the squad looks stronger on paper than it did last season and hopefully we will prove that tonight as he has made 7 changes...

Motherwell's Euro cup tie against Kuban Krasnodar is on tonight too. We're 2-0 down from the first leg so not much hope of progressing.

It's a bit unfair when your European campaign starts before your league campaign and, more often than not, the opposition are into their own league campaign so are fitter*.

* I admit they're probably also better but that's not the point...

Well Malmo are 17 games into their league season and we didn't have any problems last week :sly:

So Swansea are through pretty easily...

Some key analysis on the upcoming EPL fixtures from the team at ITV4... faced with the proposition that Man Utd might slip up against Swansea in the opening fixture of the season given Swansea's Europa league experience, one pundit said (and I paraphrase here), 'Nah, David Moyes will expect 100% from Man Utd, probably more...'. More than 100%? What is Moyes going to do, desiccate them?

I....don't get it?...

Anyway the Community Shield is on Sunday on ITV, kicks off at 2pm between Man United and Wigan, Wigan have only sold 6,000 of their ticket allocation...

Another loss for United last night then, this time against Sevilla in Ferdinand's testimonial 3-1, Valencia got United's goal...

Community Shield match between Manchester United and Wigan in 30 minutes.

Got no expectations, but hoping for a win of course.

Manchester United: David De Gea - Rafael, Phil Jones, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra - Wilfried Zaha, Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Ryan Giggs - Robin van Persie, Danny Welbeck

Reserver: Anders Lindegaard, Jonny Evans, Antonio Valencia, Anderson, Chris Smalling, Shinji Kagawa, Adnan Januzaj

No Rooney? Still out with shoulder injury? We can only speculate.

Wigan: Scott Carson - Emmerson Boyce, James Perch, Leon Barnett, Stephen Crainey - James McCarthy, Ben Watson, James McArthur - Shaun Maloney, Grant Holt, James McClean

Reserver: Lee Nicholls, Chris McCann, Jordi Gomez, Callum McManaman, Roger Espinoza, Nouha Dicko, Marc-Antoine Fortune

Don't know if I want to watch this match. Watching city get beat by Wigan is funny, watching your own team isn't......

2-0 win, and Moyes first trophy as manager and United's first of hopefully a few this season.

Yay, just won some wonga on my team winning.

Also, always wondered. On here its labeled soccer and named that in one country but across the global its Football, can't we just name Football on here American Football so people don't get lost? After all UEFA is Union of European Football Association. (The Home of Football)

Happy with the win and performance, it was a professional, assured performance which is exactly what we needed after the pretty crap pre-season we've had...

Pre-season was were the reserves tried to shine with the first teamers brushing the cobwebs off, my pre season starts in 2 days and i got alot of cobwebs building :(. Asian aren't bad at football, both Japan and South Korea (ok so they have more to play for than money) are good teams with prem teams sniffing round the japan national team after world and olympics.

I agree.

They are making a big deal over the fact that Rooney was training with England earlier..

Hey I just remembered something from the match yesterday, did anyone else notice that Valencia is back using the number 25 shirt which is the number he had when he joined the club, he had the number 7 shirt last season and that number is now vacant...I think that's interesting because there have been stories concerning a former number 7 of ours coming back to the club...

Yeah, he asked for the 25 back. Less pressure that's for sure, but he's not getting off that easy. He's got to fight Zaha for the position now.

He was poor last season as well, but I still like him..

He wasn't poor, to be fair he was rubbish. No way be worthy of the 7 shirt just the year before he was our best player (imo). Hope he has a better season this year.
