The key thing, referring back to Furi's post is whether these players are still good enough at interntional. Friedel hasn't played for the States for years, and Seaman was past his peak upon international retirement.

However, van der Sar, Shilton, James and Buffon did play for their countries past 35. I'm surprised Paul Robinson isn't playing in the Premier League anyway, he's always been a good goalkeeper. Certainly, he would be experienced back up for Joe Hart at international level.

Look at it another way, from a pool of Hart, Ruddy, Butland and Forster, where is the experience? Hart is getting it on the go, and while players like Butland and Forster 'deserve a chance', and I'm fully behind promoting youth, I think it is important to have an experienced goalkeeper on the playing staff. Robinson meets this critireon perfectly.

Blackburns biggest weakness was (and still is) always defense. Even having Chris Samba, Brett Emerton, Lucas Neil, we had a dodgy defense. Friedel and Robinson more often than not (and Robbo still does) saved our asses in the dying moments of a match.

I did say that this would be a difficult game for Chelsea as we always struggle at the Hawthorns. West Brom with the late equalizer :(

Rubbish, Chelsea should be beating West Brom all day long.

Just four wins all season? Even United could beat them...

Ironically, we lost to them 2-1 at Old Trafford in September

Massive opportunity to close things up at the top of the table for us tonight. Hopefully we back up our good performance against Arsenal last week, and get a win against Fulham.

There's always a chance of an upset, but I can see Fulham getting battered tonight.

My prediction, Fulham 0 Suarez 2 Sturridge 2

Hope City beat Sunderland tonight, another home game so I have a wee bit more confidence. And I never thought I'd say this but I really want United to beat Arsenal.

Any other result than a loss and i'll be happy tonight.

Even though Arsenal got trashed last weekend, I think they have the better team.

Well I think if Arsenal get the first goal then its going to be a long night....but if we get the first goal however....

...then it will be a long night for us.

If this game wasn't big enough before the Chelsea draw, then it is surely massive now. Over recent seasons we have been terrible against Utd, and I'm sure that has a huge psychological effect on us. Just look at our game against them at OT, we sat back all game whereas everyone else had a proper go.

We need to turn up tonight, and if we do then this week hasn't been so bad after all.

Also RVP seems to do well against his former club. 3 goals in 3 games v Arsenal.

Looks like the weather is playing havoc with the football, Man City-Sunderland is off (breaking news!) and theres a safety officer at the Brittania stadium looking at the ground and the pitch...

United team...De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Fletcher, Mata, Rooney, Van Persie

Arsenal....Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Wilshire, Arteta, Rosicky, Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud

I'm surprised that a state of the art stadium like the Etihad has fallen foul to the weather, especially as most most of it is down here in the South.

Nothing to do with the stadium, when an paramedics has toppled over onto it's side just outside the stadium, then it's definitely the right thing to do and call off the match.

Oh the conditions around the stadium. Probably best then so that no one gets seriously hurt.
Everton v Palace also postponed and Stoke v Swansea kick off is delayed.

Yeah was kind of shocked when I went on BBC Sport and saw the picture. Is windy everywhere to be honest, will definitely need volume extra high for tonights match, with all the noise going on outside.

Fulham winning against Liverpool! If it stays like this Spurs are level on points with Liverpool. Good stuff :D

Edit: Balls, shouldn't have said anything.

Arsenal 0-0 United. A draw is a fair result... Damnit that RvP didn't score today. Two huge chances...

Amazing performance from Spurs. Pretty much a 4-1-4-1 formation and they just dominated.

That goal from Chadli as well.

Decent game but it didn't live up to expectations, good performance by United, we worked hard when we didn't have the ball, Vidic should have got MOM because he played like a boss!

Newcastle have been so shocking since Cabaye left that Nacer Chadli is scoring against them!
