Yup, lost 3-0 in the derby, 3-0 v Chelsea and now 4-0 to Spurs, they are getting battered and Pardew thinks they can challenge United for the Europa League place!

Pardew best start thinking about results or he'll be sucked into the bottom half and that massive relegation battle down there.

That's what they get for selling their best player, I know they couldn't physically stop him from going to PSG but still. They are still a good team though, if Remy gets back to his best they should be floating around 6th come the end of the season.

Hell yeah! :D

Man that was edge of the seat stuff through that match. Fulham scrapping for there lives to stay in the league, was a tough match but we got the result in the end. Showed grit and tremendous character to not give up, that's what I like to see. 👍

Four points off now, all to play for now and onto the FA Cup against Arsenal this weekend. They'll definitely will be gunning for abit of revenge, so we got to be on our guard. :)

Oh dear, that game right there wound me up completely.
Why was Giroud missing chance after chance? Why were we passing the ball backwards every ten seconds? Why was there no change in tactics? Why is Arsene still in a job?

Seriously, after the first 20 minutes of poor passing and slow play, any other manager would be standing on the touchline screaming orders to his players, trying to change things up a bit. But Wenger just sat there hiding in his coat ALL GAME.
Any other manager would have changed the formation to have two strikers up front, rather than stick with one. Any other manager would have brought on Podolski on when Giroud clearly wasn't cutting the mustard. Any other manager would have bought a quality striker in the summer/January who we could rely on to help in games like todays.

The man has clearly lost the plot and is living off of past memories. If there is anyone who still thinks he is the man for the job, then I want to know why they think that, because he is doing nothing positive at all.

He had 3 strikers on the bench, he got scared we might concede, David Moyes got 4 points from him this season and our record against the big teams is terrible.

Im starting to think that United would be better off not in Europe altogether next season, Champions League is gone and we can still do the Europa League but that tournament does more harm to a team than good I reckon...what do fellow United fans on this thread think??

Man City have been granted planning permission to extend the capacity of the Etihad to 62,000...

I guessed in all honesty. OT looks like somewhere with 90,000. Guess I was wrong.

Bit of a waste of money, they can't even fill 48,000. :P Also, I agree with you on the Europe thing MUSC. Having to play qualification games in August will cause our team to be unfresh for the start of the BPL season. Also playing on a Thursday gives us less rest for games at the weekend.
@Liquid I believe OT is about 76,000 (76,612 is a figure that seems familiar)

Arsenal have 120M in the bank, number will rise to 175M in June, we have Giroud and Bendtner and club asking for a 3% increase in ticket prices /Jacky Chan confused meme

1 Chelsea 26 +27 57
2 Arsenal 26 +22 56
3 Man City 25 +41 54
4 Liverpool 26 +34 53
5 Tottenham 26 +4 50
6 Everton 25 +11 45
7 Man Utd 26 +10 42

Said it before, Arsenal fans by a distance the most fickle. It's unreal how quickly they go to 'Wenger in' to 'Wenger out' and back again.

What are you talking about? I have been against Wenger since the halfway mark of last season.:odd: As if a certain club produces fickle fans naturally as well

@Famine

Stats? Ok, here's another.

Record against City, Chelsea, Utd (Most recent BPL Champions) so far this season:

Played:5
Won:0
Drew:2
Lost:3

When your club has well over £100m to spend, also bearing in mind Utd's terrible form, your record probably shouldn't look like that.

And yet two of those are below you in the table and one only a point ahead. The table, as they say, does not lie.

And ALL are in catastrophic debt. Are Arsenal?

No, we are not.

But they don't hand out trophies for being top of the table half-way through a season OR for profiting in huge numbers by fleecing the fans with pathetic Season Ticket prices and then buying poor quality and failing to address key faults in our team.

They do however give you trophies for finishing competitions in 1st place, and nothing more. Our consistent failure to get results against the top teams which we have to play at some stage doesn't fill me with much confidence.

They don't hand out trophies to clubs entering administration either. Well, they do, but they're kind of anti-trophies.

A maximum of five different "English" teams can win a top tier trophy each season - competing with 19 others for one, 47 others for one, 63 others for one and the whole of Europe for two others. It is not wise to literally bet the farm on being one of those five teams - and typically one team will win more than one of those trophies, so it becomes even less wise.

This season, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool have bet half a billion pounds between them that they'll be one of those five teams and they have combined debts of two billion pounds in the regular pursuit of being one of those five teams. Sometimes it pays off - but most of the time it doesn't, and being the team that won the League Cup or FA Cup (or even the UEFA Europe League) will not pay off the balance of that spending. Arsenal have not and yet they're still usually there or thereabouts, getting Champions' League TV money, FA Cup gate receipts and a massive slice of the Premier League wedge for a top four finish.

A club that is thriving and competing every season is in better condition than a club with a great history and no future.

I get that, but it's not just the lack of investment in the club that Wenger is failing on. He seems to have no tactical nous anymore and shows no flexibility in his team set-up.

Just look at the game against Utd. 20 minutes into the game everyone watching could see that passing the ball back and forth, before lumping the ball up to Giroud for him to miss the target wasn't working. So, what should a manger do in that situation?
He should have been screaming orders to players (just as Rodgers did at the weekend) trying to change the tactics. Maybe get the ball out wide and stretch the old and recently poor Utd. defense? Or get the to launch in cross after cross to the target man who was constantly out-jumping Vidic. Not just sit there all game doing nothing, only getting up to blame the fourth official when nothing was going his way.
Not only did he stick with the same stagnant plan, but he didn't even change the team shape and bring on our best finisher, Podolski. It's like he was content with a draw.

And to think that he is about to sign another 3 year contract worth 8 million pounds a year. So much for "dizzying wages". His words not mine.

Should be a good weekend. Got a ticket for Monday night's game at the Amex.

So on Twitter they have had Football chat up lines for Valentine's day and some of them are hilarious!!

'Like Arsenal I can last 90 minutes and still come second'

'Is your name Ashley Young, because you love going down'

'Is your name Adnan, because your tight'

'Unlike Giroud I always finish in the box'

'Just call me Ronaldinho because I can lob Seaman from forty yards!'

:lol::lol::lol::lol:
